Yes, becuase I do that. It's easier to keep a track if someone is reading your story when it's completed or not. I wouldn't know differently if my story is completely forgotten when I mark it complete or there are people who stumbled upon it.

no... when i stumble upon a story that's "subscribers only", I only subscribe so I can check it out and then immediately unsubscribe if I don't like it. For me personally, it annoys me when a story is subscribers only.

I think it doesn't matter if you put it on before, during or after. The subscribers-only option is a good way to prevent plagiarism anyways.

I think it's perfectly fine. After I finished a couple of my fics, I lost a lot of subscribers after posting the last chapters. I don't care about that per se; however, it's harder to keep track of your work when more plagarizers can just look at your fic whenever they want. It's easier to track down plagarizers if you make them subscribe. I didn't start making my readers subscribe until awhile after I finished the stories, because I started getting problems with all that, and it started to feel like people were just using me, and I don't like that. That's just my personal opinion, so just do whatever you wish to do. :)

What about the people who don't have an account but still want to read the story? They can't read it, can they? Also it's better in my opinion to let one read the story before deciding if they like it and want to subscribe to it.
