Actually for me it depends on the person. Like I'm perfectly fine with Tao's and Kris' names being used as their stage names. It also depends on the storyline. If the characters are normal people, of course you shouldn't be using the stage name D.O. right? ^_
I like using stage names more cause Idk I just know them more by the stage name,relate more to them by it or just cause I like stage names more xD but I still do use real names too in my fanfics like at times when it is a serious moment than real names are better I guess xD
it's kinda awkward reading a fic where they use certain members' stage names...like for Tao/Chen/Xiumin/Lay/Suho,it's fine,because those sound more like names,but like "Kim Kai" or "D.O",names like those are kinda odd ><
