Realized I've never commented on this one, even though I read it a long time ago, so I'm here, just wanting to say thank you for writing this. I still remember how it had a huge impact on me, I thought it was one of the most beautiful stories out there...and then the end made it also one of the saddest ones. Really, thank you. :)
