Invite Only. I'm confused. Help

So if I put my story in invite only should I still unsubscribe my subscribers. Or is it okay if not since they can't read it anymore as long as I didn't send them an invite?

In my opinion, the easy option would be creating a copy of your story so that there are no subscribers, then invite the users you want.
