Kings of Kpop
I was watching a video on YouTube on counting how many views per Kpop music video before I scrolled through the comments. The comment I replied to was about Big Bang being kings of Kpop. A few replies later there were comments saying things like: "Big Bang are no longer the kings of Kpop, groups like EXO and BTS are becoming the kings because of how many views they are getting." Some comment went as far as bringing up them being inactive and not making music videos so they won't be gaining as many views (just because they aren't making music video, doesn't mean that they are not going to stop gaining views). They even said they liked Big Bang (To me, you can not like Big Bang and say those kinds of things).
To me this is like telling Elvis Presley that he is no longer the King of Rock, Elvis is long dead, but his legacy lives on in the world of rock. Newer groups are great and all, but in my opinion they will never live up to Big Bang's and other older generation kpop groups' legacy in the Kpop world.
To me, this is rather disappointing. I love a lot of the newer generation of Kpop artist, but a lot of the time newer Kpop fans tend to look over the older generation of idols who paved the way for the newer generation.
EDIT: Big Bang was more of the group I was in a discussion about.
