I have a dilemma

I'm writing a new story and I don't know what genre I should put it under. The only thing I know is that I definitely don't want to put it under romance (I have my reasons). It's BL/paranormal romance, but I don't know how many people who read LGBT actually read fantasy/paranormal and vice versa. And I'm not even sure in which direction I want to take my story. I don't want it to be all about romance but it can't be pure fantasy like Tolkien either. The options are either LGBT or Paranormal Romance, I guess.

I'm asking because I don't want to put it under paranormal romance and then have people bi- I mean, complain about it having man on man action. Also, there's this one website where I want to post my story, but from what I've seen, everything paranormal falls under the fantasy category. And I know lots of fantasy readers are men and finding my story in that category would be.. shocking, to say the least.

What do you guys read? Contemporary/ paranormal romance? Or when you read fantasy, do you expect some romance to be thrown in?

Fun fact about me: I personally love stories set in the medieval period the most. Anything with Highlanders, I read. My biggest regret is that I never paid attention during History classes and now I can't write historical romance.

Just put in the tags for all aspects of your story, so put in boyxboy, , whatever you want to put regarding BL, maybe including the ship name if its idolxidol, and then put fantasy, paranormal and that. I read a lot of fantasy and tbh I usually expect romance because there aren't many fics where there ISN'T some aspect of romance, but if there wasn't romance I'd still follow it if it was a good, well-written storyline. And, seriously, there are a lot of fantasy gay fics, don't even worry about it. Most of the fics I read are fantasy but almost none are boyxboy, mostly because of the fact that unless the storyline and writing is good I won't read it. Many boyxboy fantasy fics (at least in the M-rated fics, which is where I look cus I like more serious, action-packed stuff) are omegaverse fics filled with mostly so honestly whoever complains in the fantasy section can go to another less BL saturated section lmao.

There are people who read gay and paranormal. I don't mind reading paranormal LGBT but it's not always - I mean, I have to be in the mood. I honestly love fantasy stories that don't contain romance because .. well, sometimes it's nice without the romance. That's when I usually read aro characters. But I don't read historical, it really doesn't interest me. But paranormal is cool.

Do you want honesty? LGBT isn't a genre, please don't treat it like one. You can have a homoual relationship in any kind of story. It's not some , it's just a relationship.
