What's something common that you've seen in fics that just isn't realistic in real life?
Besides fantasy, sci-fi phenomena btw~

A couple where both are either celebrity or CEO of a successful company.
Then, an orphan character (like some of users have mentioned here) : age 16 and works a lot of part time jobs, living alone in a apartment. I see tons of that in fanfics until I am not surprised anymore. Then, she (usually a she) will meet someone who change her entire life.
I think that's quite unrealistic and too common.
Yeah... a couple people have mentioned it, but dealing with the death of a family member too quickly or easily. As @mirrue said, I can't even deal with character death that quickly. I doubt you'd be up and on your feet and perfectly normal two or three days after your parents died.
Also, taking off your glasses doesn't automatically make you hot all of a sudden. It doesn't really work like that, sadly.
@kimbxp Omg. I remember reading a fic where the character is involved in a car crash and her parents die. A week later, she's already strengthened up and move on and find a job to feed herself. Damn, that's quick. I can't even move on from a surprising character death after days knowing it....
-When the character is like 15 or 16, still at school, but work like 3 to 4 jobs. I'll be like... damn, where in the world is he/she living? Which employer takes in a teenager still at school and working multiple jobs?
-When students at school act like the teachers (or authority) at school are nonexistent for some reason. I'm like... I can't even sleep in class without the teacher noticing, how can I skip class just because I hate it?
-When underage (below 18) rent a house/apartment in a normal way. From what I know, usually, underage people can't rent a place in the normal way. Their approach is a bit different than having a lease agreement with the landlord.
-When the parents of the character die in an accident or car crash, it seems like none of the extended family cares. Where is the society part in this? Where is the social service or foster care? (I'm not a pro in this but I've learned some from the Shameless TV series XD)
