What's your ambition?

I was just wondering because everyone my age has their whole future planned out. And I'm just here switching from one plan to another. I wanted to be a kpop singer then I wanted to go to the UN,then I wanted to be a lawyer,an entrepreneur, a writer. And then a kpop singer again.

So yeah. Just wondering What's your ambition(s)?

@unprettydreams I'll be there in the unemployed club with you. Hehe. You're a lot like me. Even though the means are there. I have a lot of second thoughts and I'm scared that I won't be happy or content at the end of the day. I really want to do a job that's satisfying :(

I would say that is a pretty hard question for me to answer x) I used to dream of being a doctor when I was a kid, but when I was in high school, I took ICT course instead of science. Now I am taking tesl in university and I have never dreamed of being a teacher. Honestly speaking, I have no idea what my ambition is actually. Author was my ambition before because I live writing, but for some reason, I have to hold it for a while. For now, I just go with the flow. But I was thinking about being an editor/translator in the future or maybe I'll just work in a cafe.

When I was a kid I wanted to be in the medical field but just recently like this year I choose to be either a software engineer or software developer or Front-back end developer. Those are my dreams since I love coding so much and I wouldn't want anything but that. It's crazy how I came from trying to be a pharmacist to wanting to pursue a computer science degree.

i wanna be a journalist.. its been a dream of mine for a pretty long time. but if i dont get in, i want to do something else in the media like advertising ^^ and its okay if you dont have a set ambition! whoever has their entire future planned out will never get to see their life play out the way they want to. do whatever you feel good doing..

/casually joins the unemployed adult club/ forever too many ambitions and real life just keeps punching me in the face!! honestly at this point i have no ambition just whatever gets me money!! i would love to be a writer or a nurse or work with the UN but seems very far fetched! the harsh reality of life! but if you have the means tho you should never ever give up on your dreams! i like to think i am just putting my dream on hold until i make the opportunity to achieve it!!

I want to be an author. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do when I was a teenager (well I guess I'm still a teen xD) but I had an amazing teacher for my creative writing elective and I fell in love with the idea of being able to touch millions of people with my stories. So many rainy days were spent reading in my childhood, and books really provided something of an escape at times. For me I can't imagine doing anything else with my life. I think when it comes to deciding what you want to do with your life, you have to think about what would make you happy (and what you'd be willing to put in the effort for of course!) And that changes a lot - I knew someone who was in his fourties who decided to go back to school to try and get involved with politics after a lifetime as a middle school teacher. So don't overstress about it too much - there's always time to go back and try something new if the path you first choose turns out to not be ideal (though, I mean, stay with it until you're financially stable obviously...)

@Topu-Da Oh my God... unemployed adults united! XD
All those things that you listed are the same thing with what I want in my life. hahaha.

Right now I'm thinking to go full freelance as a writer but of course, everything has its ups and down. I have to take a HUGE risk if I wanna be a freelance writer for the rest of my life. I used to work in office.. the perks: stable job, stable income but after some times, I lose focus on my job... >< and now I'm unemployed, thinking what is it exactly that I want in my life...

Jokes aside, for the OP, I hope you can straight it out what is it that you actually want in your life. Don't take too long time or you going to miss a lot of time that supposed can be invested towards that goal. In other words, don't be like me. XD

It's okay to try something and then something else if that first thing doesn't work out. No matter how hard you try and how long you think things through, you can't fully know if you'll really love working/studying to be a performer or writer or lawyer until you do it.

I personally didn't choose to be an artist. Actually, I resisted that path for years, but it's just the way my brain seems to work, and something I just don't seem to have the power to stop. I'm artist because I MUST, because if I don't then I'll go insane, and a lot of artists feel this way. Being a full time artist of any kind (kpop performer, writer, etc) is a very very hard thing to do, and you need true passion to pursue it (sometimes not even this will get you there). You should do it because it makes you feel alive, not to gain anything. This way, when you fail (because you will fail, and fail, and fail some more) you still will want to just get up and do it again.
