@goldteacup i understand. i have a few stories which i read and i really like it. But suddenly they stop halfway, and start writing other stories. It's kinda disappointing.
@TheHeather wow.. forever ??
what if the next update which you have been waiting for , isn't that good as what you expect . Will you still keep on waiting ??
Depends on how much I love the story. If the story is very interesting and makes me really curious that I still remember it after a long time then it won't matter how much I wait for it.
Depends. If I really love the story, I would have subscribed so I guess I would continue to wait. Generally, I wouldn't start reading a story if the last update was over a year ago. Don't feel like investing then getting disappointed if the story never gets completed.
Well, so long as I'm still in the fandom, I'd probably wait around forever? If I'm subscribed, at least; if not, I might forget even the most intriguing fic, hahah. But I subscribe to all fics I really like, so there. Hence, even if it might be a year, I'd still get a notification, and I'd look at it, and probably go 'oooooh, that fic'. And then I'll read, pfft. So.
Truthfully I don't really care for the wait, and really, no matter the story, I'd still read it till the very end if it caught my interest. I mean, sometimes there might be times where I'd lose interest in stories I read, but I don't think that has anything at all to do with the time of updating or anything like that. So, yeah, if I liked a story but it didn't update until, say, like a year later, I'd still most likely continue reading it.
If the story was amazing I'll probably still forget about it after like 2 months, but then if they update even 8 months later or a year later I'd still read and comment!! Really, what bores me are plots that are way too slow, or when they keep postponing something important happening and a they start writing other subplots. That makes me lose interest, but slow updates not so much.
For me it's more about being consistent. Like if someone only updates every two months, I don't mind waiting because I can count on it. If an author updates every week on time, then nothing for a couple months, I get pouty. At that point it depends on how much I really liked the story or how invested I am. If I absolutely need to know what happens next, I can wait forever..
If the story I followed did not update for like a two month or so then I would stop looking at it and after seeing it again months later I would read all the chapters at once
