This story is really funny, the main character seems to go between sounding like an interesting person, to sounding like a complete air-head and I find that quite amusing :) This story actually reminds me of a chick-flick I saw a while ago where the main character (a classic popular girl who obsesses over fashion and popularity and uses the word "like" far too often as a conversational pause) wants to date this "hot" jock (or whatever he was) but ends up falling for the intern working for her dad (i think that's what he was, i watched it a long time ago).
