Chapter 44: I finally finished this story! It took me a while because I barely have time to read but whenever I had the time I always found myself itching to come back and read this. At first I really hated the teacher student dynamic because being an educator myself it's always been really weird to have a teacher fall for a student. I don't know how you did it but you made it work! It wasn't at all disturbing to me their characters were written so well I could feel what they felt. It also helped that Yeonri didn't really see Jongdae so much in the school setting since she was constantly out trying to get him to come school. It made me really sad that Yeonri had to leave school because you could tell how much she loved teaching. Her tenacity really shined and it was a little disappointing seeing her give up so easily. After reading how Heejung passed I understood Yeonri completely. It was really hard seeing Heejung fall apart in the reading because there are so many students like that. It's incredibly sad seeing the pressure from school tear them apart.
Now Jongdae, wow Jongdae. What can I say? He was definitely my favorite character. Seeing him in pain made me feel pain, seeing him be happy made me happy. He was such an incredible character but so so soooo stubborn. I wanted to go into the story so many times and slap himmmmm He had so much potential to get out that hell hole but yet he stayed. Part of me thinks it's because he was trying to protect Jongin for longer but then in the end it was all to piss of his 'father' because a paternal figure he sure wasn't! His back story broke my heart knowing he was dumped out into the street by his 'father' because he could taint his reputation it was incredibly sick. Although one good thing came out of it. Jongdae is really on his way to become a doctor! I FEEL SO PROUD OF HIM

Chapter 44: I finished this a while ago—and decided to reread the epilogue—and my God, words can’t express how I was while I was reading it and by the end of it. I got a lot of “School 2013” (and later on, “Doctor Crush”) feels, and by the end of Chapter 43, I was a mess (mainly because I was crying). I like the relationship between Jongdae and Yeonri and how it progressed. They dealt with a lot of things leading up to the end and I’m excited for the continuation in the sequel.
I like Choi Yeonri. Nowadays, it’s rare to come across a teacher like her—a teacher who not only teaches, but guides and cares for her students. I consider myself lucky to have met teachers like her. Not everyone is lucky to have a someone like Yeonri. The fact that she doesn’t give up on her students is what I love best about her. Sure she grew up in a better environment and didn’t have many problems that prevented her from doing well, but her background didn’t stop her from understanding her students. Teachers like Mr. Hwang are reasons why students often feel like the world is against them when they fail or don’t meet their (or their parents’) expectations. If you’re someone who cares more about your marks and whether or not you’ll get a better position for the next year instead of helping/guiding your students, then why are you a teacher in the first place? A teacher should never give up on his or her students. Teachers like Yeonri are underappreciated and reading this story made me thankful for those who taught me when I was in high school.
The pressure of succeeding in school is toxic and Heejung’s case really broke my heart. Expectations set on students are too much nowadays and I couldn’t help but cry during the last few chapters. As I was reading them, there were questions running through my mind. (If Yeonri had stayed to talk to her, would Heejung still be there? If Minseok had answered one of those calls, would Heejung still be there? If one of the two were there for her, would that have been enough for her to stay?) I was practically sobbing during the last chapters and by the time I was done reading this story, I couldn’t open my eyes.
I want to write more, but my comment is already long. From the looks of it, it’s gonna be a pain in the to read. I really enjoyed this story. I wish I found it sooner. I’m looking forward to the sequel. Other than Jongdae and Yeonri, the characters I’m looking forward to reading are Jongin and Minseok :) Thank you for writing this! :)
Chapter 44: Hectic, I’ve been reading this pretty much nonstop for the last two days and now I’ve finished it. Can’t wait to read the sequel and in the meantime I’ll be reading some of your other stuff!
Hi Amber! I just want to thank you for giving us a chance to read another masterpiece. I've been reading your fanfics for a long time now and you are one of my favorite author here. Furthermore, I kind of relate to this story regarding Jongdae's issue with his father and his high school life. I love that you life to another type of character for Jongdae because he is always a side character in most of the stories that I've read here.
