It was the day of the Sports Fest at Hastings Academy, and excitement buzzed through the air as students eagerly anticipated the day's activities. With classes canceled to make way for the sporting events, the campus was abuzz with energy and anticipation.

Charlie, as the head of the sports committee, found herself busier than ever, ensuring that everything ran smoothly for her classmates. As the Omega Girls Race was about to start, she made her way to the track field to oversee the proceedings.

There, amidst the crowd, Serena stood out like a beacon of beauty, drawing admiring glances from those around her.

"Serena really is the most beautiful girl at Hastings..."

"Look at her, she looks like a goddess..."

"Serena Sutherland is indeed on another level!!"

But amidst the compliments, a harsh voice cut through the chatter—Stacy Huang, an alpha known for her spiteful remarks.

"Don't be fooled by her innocent looks! She's a !" Stacy's words pierced through the air, catching Charlie's attention.

"Hey, remember you only have one chance left then you'll be expelled from Hastings! You sure you want to try your luck now?" Charlie's tone was firm and intimidating, shutting down Stacy's remarks with authority.

"Vanderbilt! I freaking hate you!!" Stacy spat before storming off, defeated by Charlie's resolute stance.

"Yeah, that's right, leave! You're good for nothing, wheesle!" Charlie's retort was laced with disdain as Stacy retreated.

"Thank you..." Serena's voice was soft as she expressed her gratitude to Charlie.

"You heard her?" Charlie asked, turning to face Serena.

"Well, yeah... she's Stacy Huang... that's what she does..." Serena's response was tinged with resignation.

"Next time, don't just let her say things like that to you, okay?" Charlie's concern for Serena was evident in her words.

"Um," Serena murmured in acknowledgment.

"Anyway, here are the safety pins for the bib numbers..." Charlie changed the subject, handing the safety pins to Serena.

"Charlie, can you help me with my bib number?" An omega classmate asked.

"Okay! Coming!" Charlie said

As Serena observed Charlie assisting other Omega students with their bib numbers, a thought crossed her mind.

'I better just head to the comfort room, remove my shirt, and put on the bib number myself...' Serena contemplated silently, considering her options.

Just when Serena was about to leave, Charlie called her...

"Serena, wait!" Charlie's voice halted Serena in her tracks.

"Yes?" Serena turned to face Charlie.

"Let me help you with your bib number," Charlie offered with a warm smile.

"Um," Serena replied, returning Charlie's smile.

"Hey, the race is about to start. My friends and I will be there," Charlie said, gesturing to where they would be positioned.

"We're going to cheer for you and I'll run alongside you on the side... then I'll wait for you at the finish line, okay?" Charlie offered, aiming to boost Serena's confidence.

Charlie understood that despite Serena appearing stronger than other Omegas, she might still feel apprehensive about the race. She wanted to reassure Serena that she wouldn't be alone in this.

"Okay," Serena replied with a smile, feeling grateful for Charlie's support.

The anticipation was palpable as the students gathered at the starting line, each one eager to prove themselves in the upcoming race. Serena stood among them, her nerves tingling with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. She scanned the crowd, searching for familiar faces, until her gaze landed on Charlie, who offered her a nod of acknowledgment.

Then, the signal to start the race reverberated through the air, a sharp crack that set the runners in motion. Serena surged forward with the rest of the pack, her heart pounding in time with the thunderous beat of her footsteps.

Amidst the flurry of activity, Charlie's voice pierced through the noise...

"GO SERENA! YOU CAN DO IT!" she shouted, her words carrying across the field.

Serena found solace in Charlie's encouragement. It spurred her on, driving her to push harder, to run faster, as she navigated the course with single-minded determination.

As the race progressed, Serena felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins, her focus sharpening with each passing moment. Though she ran alone, she felt that she't not alone at all as she saw Charlie kept her promise to run beside her on the sides...

With the finish line in sight, Serena summoned the last reserves of her energy, her heart pounding in her chest as she sprinted towards her goal. But just as victory seemed within reach, her legs threatened to give out beneath her, weakened by the intense effort.

In that critical moment, as Serena teetered on the brink of collapse, a pair of arms reached out, steadying her and preventing her from falling. Looking up, she met Charlie's gaze, her expression a mix of relief and gratitude.

"You did it! You won!" Charlie's voice rang out, filled with pride and admiration, as Serena's heart swelled with a sense of accomplishment.

In that moment, amidst the cheers and applause of the crowd, time seemed to stand still as their eyes met, sharing an unspoken connection that spoke volumes.

"HEY SISTER CHARLIE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! HELP SERENA STAND UP!" Leora teased, noticing the close proximity between the two.

"AREN'T YOU TWO BEING TOO COZY AROUND EACH OTHER?" Alice chimed in, adding to the playful banter.

Charlie quickly realized Serena's struggle to stand and offered her support. "Can you walk for a while, then let's sit on the bleachers?" she suggested.

"Um..." Serena hesitated.

Charlie then draped her jacket around Serena, showing her care and concern. "Here, put this on. You're sweating, and it's cold. You might catch a chill," Charlie said softly.

Serena blushed at the gesture, feeling touched by Charlie's thoughtfulness. As she held onto the jacket, a sweet scent enveloped her, bringing a smile to her face. "Hmmm, it smells like marshmallow," she thought to herself, savoring the moment.

As the two settled on the bleachers, Charlie noticed Serena's slight exhaustion and realized she hadn't brought any water. Concern etched into her features, she knew Serena must be thirsty after all the exertion from the race.

"Serena, wait here for a moment... I'll go grab you some water," Charlie said, her voice b with care.

Serena nodded in agreement, offering a nod in return.

Charlie hurried to the nearest vending machine, the chatter of nearby Alphas catching her attention as she made her way.

"Did you see Serena Sutherland awhile ago? She's still as beautiful as ever and other Omegas really can't compare to her." One alpha said.

"Yeah, she's really impressive! She's still Hastings' queen if you asked me..."

"You bet... no other omegas comes close to her..."

Charlie smiled hearing those Alphas compliment Serena.

'Of course, my Serena is really incomparable to anyone.' She told herself.

After getting the water, Charlie made her way back to the bleachers, only to be met with a sight that stirred a twinge of jealousy within her. A cluster of Alphas had gathered around Serena, attending to her needs with care and admiration. Some offered her water, while others fanned her gently, as if she were some revered queen.

Charlie approached the group, trying to mask her unease with a casual demeanor. "Hey, Serena, here's your water," she said, holding out the bottle.

"Thank you, Charlie," Serena replied with a grateful smile, her eyes briefly meeting Charlie's before returning to the water bottle.

As Charlie glanced around, she couldn't help but notice the lingering gazes and lingering smiles directed towards Serena from the Alphas. A wave of jealousy washed over her as she realized how effortlessly Serena commanded the attention and admiration of others.

She forced a smile, trying to conceal her inner turmoil. "Looks like you've got quite the fan club here," Charlie remarked, her tone light but tinged with a hint of jealousy.

Serena chuckled softly, her attention focused solely on Charlie. "I guess so. But it seems different when it's you who's around," she said, her eyes meeting Charlie's once again with a warmth that eased the knot of jealousy in Charlie's chest.

Charlie felt her heart skip a beat at Serena's words, a rush of relief flooding through her. In that moment, she realized that despite the attention from others, Serena's focus remained firmly on her. And for Charlie, that was all that mattered.

'My world was full of darkness. You were the sun that lit up my world. Regardless of whether other suns may come along, I only seek the light you bring,' Serena's heart whispered, finding solace in the warmth of Charlie's presence amidst life's shadows.

Charlie's gaze swept over the other Alphas surrounding Serena, their attention drawn to her radiant presence. Upon hearing what Serena just said, a surge of confidence coursed through Charlie's veins. With a sly grin, she draped her arm over the back of the chair where Serena sat, crossing her legs with an air of possessiveness.

It was a silent declaration, a message conveyed through a knowing smirk: "Step aside, fools. She's mine."

"What the hell? Isn't she the Vanderbilt heiress, the S-Class Alpha?" whispered one Alpha incredulously.

"Don't speak loud... she might hear you... she's a bully!" cautioned another, glancing nervously in Charlie's direction.

"Is she trying to tell us that Serena is hers?" speculated a third Alpha, eyeing Charlie warily.

"Let's go... we better not cross her," muttered the last, and with that, all the other Alphas dispersed, leaving Charlie and Serena alone in their shared moment.
