Friday the 13th
I'm a superstitous kid, so don't judge.
Also, you can't say that it was wrong. The Friday the 13th's of 2001 was in July. That's a real date.
December 25th, 2001
Tao's Current Age: 7
8:00 am
Tao woke up and rubbed his eyes. He looked at his calender and realized today was Christmas.
He yelled in happiness, and ran to his parent's room to wake them up.
Once he opened the door, he stopped in his tracks and his face fell.
Oh yeah.
Slowly, he closed the door and silently stepped down the stairs and into the living room.
The Christmas tree was brightly lit, and there were many presents for him from his relatives. Someone even lit the fireplace.
The scene looked too happy.
Too happy for Tao.
Angrily, he grabbed the tree by the branches and threw it at the nearest wall.
Then Tao grabbed the presents and threw them into the fireplace.
He watched grudgingly as his presents burned to ashes.
Tao turned away to go upstairs, but then he heard intense crackling of flames.
He faced the fire again and his eyes grew in fear.
The sparks from the fire fell onto the Christmas tree and it was currently in flames.
Soon, the nearby floor was burning up as well.
Screaming, Tao ran outside in his pajamas and into the frigid snow.
He sat in icy snow as his house went up in flames. Tao sat in the icy snow as firemen desperately tried to put the fire out.
Tao fainted there, in the snow, as one thought flashed in his mind.
Fire.
Fire.
Fire.
And no one could blame him.
He was 7 when it happened.
