Cafe? I saw Tao in a cafe?

Kris thought long and hard, searching every memory. Then. . .

That cafe. . . I remember Tao's hair. . . he was with Chen's stalker. . . he thought.

Kris grabbed his phone and ran outside.

9:20 pm

"Tao?"

Tao looked up and saw Kris' hopeful eyes. He nodded.

Kris sighed and sat down, drumming his fingers awkwardly on the table.

"So. . . did you want to talk?"

Tao stood up and motioned for Kris to follow him.

The panda-boy ran outside and kept going, all the way to his house. Kris obidiently followed.

Tao opened the door and went inside, closing the door after Kris.

"So, you're Yifan?"

Kris faced Tao. His voice sounded so frail and underused, weak.

"Yes," he answered tentatively.

Tao sighed. "Why did you leave me?"

Kris huffed. "I couldn't help it Tao! I was like, what? 8 years, 9 years old? I had to follow my parents!"

Kris waved his hands tiredly. "Never mind about that. Tao, I want to apologize, for whatever I did to you."

"I. . . I want- I need time to think. Please leave for tonight, Kri-Yifan."

"I-" Kris started, but decided Tao didn't want to talk, so he left.
