I woke up groggily due to the insistent knocking on my apartment door.  Joohyun’s grinning face popping up to greet me unexpectedly. Her hands wrapping me abruptly, soft as it landed on my layered shirt. Her warmth sipping through my skin. I felt a tickling sensation on my neck as she buried her face.

“You should’ve texted me when you’ll come back. You’ve never contacted me after your call that day.”

“Oh right, it totally slipped my mind. It costs a lot of money to contact internationally.”

“Of course, I thought you’d contact me through online. That doesn’t cost money and just a wifi connection.”

“Well, I’m back in flesh!”

“You should greet me with ‘I miss you’ instead of something so unromantic.”

“Let’s properly talk inside first.”

“What do you want to drink? I only have water, orange juice and some green tea.”

“Anything will do.”

“Have you eaten yet?”

She shook her head no.

“Do you want me to prepare pancakes or some rice with bacon and eggs?”

“Anything will do.”

She repeated saying, her hand on her chin as she tilted her head to look at me from my small couch. Her eyes as warm as a hot chocolate perfect during winter season.

“You should really make up your mind.”

“And, so should you?”

“I already did. I’m going to eat some pancakes and–”

She cut me off by her sudden laughter out of nowhere.

“Not that, silly. Sooyoung told me on why you never contacted me. You know that you could’ve contacted me and I’d reply later on.”

“I waited for days, but you never contacted me first. You’re so cruel to your girlfriend.”

“How could you not even miss me? Even the slightest bit, Seungwan-ah.”

“I di– I never contacted you since I thought you were having fun with your parents.”

“You should still text me next time when you want to. You’re not forbidden to do that.”

“Right… I’ll keep that in mind.”

“I’m sorry for not contacting you.”

“It’s all good.”

She smiled at me like it wasn’t really that much of a big deal. But was that a flicker of something in her eyes? Something I did not caught on to have proper analysis of what it meant.
