Seulgi felt angry, but she didn't know why.

Why was she angry? Was she really?

No.

She was scared.

The mentioning of her father gave her flashbacks of the terrible memories she had as a kid.

"You're the heir to my company, so why do you have to bring such ty grades home!?"

"Honey, stop! She's only a child!" Her mother yelled in horror as her husband kept deliberately hitting his own child. Seulgi kept crying as she felt her own body grow weak.

"Stop crying you little !" Seulgi kept crying, wanting this to stop- but it didn't. It just got worse as years grew by. Until-

"SEULGI! Are you okay?" Seulgi woke up finding herself in Seungwan's house. She looked in the nearby mirror and felt her own sweat dripping down her forehead. "Do you need me to turn up the air conditioner?" Seulgi shook her head as she leaned towards the couch.

"What happened?" she mumbled looking at the clock on the wall. 4:27am.

"You were having a bad dream, so I tried waking you up. Do you remember anything from yesterday?" Seulgi shook her head, "no, not really. What happened yesterday?"

"You were reminded of something from back then and you started to freak out. I gave you sertraline just in case- but other than that, nothing happened yesterday. Jisoo let you off work early."

"But I barely started work to begin with-"

"Nuh-uh, go back to sleep Seulgi. We still have work today, and I'm not letting you take off again because you're gonna get lazy." Seulgi whined, but Seungwan was right- she was going to turn lazy at this point if she kept skipping work.

"Ok, goodnight Seungwan." Seulgi smiled. "Thank you."

Seungwan gave Seulgi a pat on the back and smiled softly. "Goodnight, bear."

-

"She was probably abused or something," Sooyoung said as she munched on her bacon. "If her father makes her cry by just the mentioning of his name then he's probably a really bad dad."

"But she's always so happy whenever I see her."

"That's why she likes you, idiot." Joohyun sighed as she took a bite out of her apple. "Just don't mention her dad if she reacts like that, you probably triggered something yesterday."

"When have you been so knowledgeable in this kind of stuff?" Joohyun asks, making Sooyoung shrug. "It's pretty obvious Joohyun, you're just stupid."

Joohyun scoffed, ignoring the side remark she just heard. "Anyways, what's on my schedule today?"

"Meetings and paperwork, nothing that important today. Oh! Remember Seungwan? It turns out she's Wendy, the really popular solo artist. Hell, I'm pretty sure Yeri is a huge fan of her, you should ask for her autograph the next time you see her. OH! And ask for her number too please," Joohyun raised a brow at Sooyoung. "It's for me, of course." Sooyoung winked.

Joohyun rolled her eyes as she finished up her apple for breakfast. "Unnie, you should eat more than just an apple. No wonder why you're so skinny!" Joohyun rolled her eyes and grabbed her phone.

"It's already 10am, we should get going." Sooyoung nodded as she took a last sip of her hot chocolate. "Yum."

"So, who am I meeting today?"

"A few of our funders, and Jisoo again. Heck, you might even bump into Seulgi- who knows." Joohyun had opened the door to the drivers seat and started the engine. "Why are you driving?"

"I'm your secretary."

"Also congrats, we're now allowed to open another store in their mall. Not that it's a huge celebration or anything- just another small shop around the corner of east wing. All we have to do is sign the contract and bam, we can start planning. Jisoo told us there are some rules though so be prepared." Joohyun nodded as Sooyoung drove out of the parking lot, speeding up in the process.

"Yah, don't go too fast! You might crash for all I know and kill me in the process." Sooyoung scoffed, "Joohyun, you don't know how to have some fun nowadays. Why don't I show you exactly how it works?" Sooyoung then pressed a button in Joohyun's lamborghini aventador and suddenly Joohyun felt a huge constant gush of wind slap her face.

"WHY'D YOU REMOVE THE ROOF?!" she yelled crazily. The wind was crazy strong and it made Joohyun's hair really messy. "BECAUSE IT'S PART OF THE EXPERIENCE!" Sooyoung yelled.

"PUT THE ROOF BACK ON OR I'LL FIRE YOU FOR GOOD!!!"

"OH REALLY?!" Sooyoung then accelerated the engine and made the car go faster, causing Joohyun to scream again. "YOU BITC-" suddenly a radio was max volume to make sure Sooyoung couldn't hear the older girl screaming at her.

Meanwhile

Seulgi and Seungwan were driving to a car dealership to get Seulgi a new car.

"Thanks for helping me, Seungwan," Seulgi smiled softly as she leaned her head out of the window. "Anything for my best friend."

"Do you hear that?" Seungwan asked worriedly. "It sounds.. like music?" Very, very loud music, even from afar. The music had been steadily growing louder, making Seungwan feel nervous. It was growing louder at a fast paste, which could obviously mean?

Seungwan looked at the side mirror and gasped. "Seulgi! Get your head back in this car now!!!"

"Why-" Seungwan grabbed the back of Seulgi's shirt and pulled the girl back to her seat. "OW! What was that for-"

Suddenly a car zooms past them probably at about 200+ mph, scaring the living hell out of Seulgi. "Oh my god I almost died-"

"I bet you 20 bucks that was Joohyun."

"No way-"

"THAT'S THE SAME CAR!!!" Seungwan screeched. "I know Joohyun looked like the quiet rebellious type but not to this extent!!"

"Wait- can I get a car like that?" Seulgi pleaded with puppy eyes. "What?! No!! You can get in an accident with how fast those cars can go!"

"But maybe it will impress Joohyun then she'd finally go out with me-"

"No Seulgi, stop. You're supposed to win her heart by just being yourself, not impressing her with all the money you have for gods sake. You'd just attract a gold digger, then she'd leave you once you're bankrupt!!!" Seulgi frowned knowing it was true, she had liked a girl once, but after they broke up she found out that they only dated her for her money.

"I promise Seungwan- she's the one! I'm going to make her fall for me, then we'd get married and grow old together!!" Seulgi said dreamily, smiling like a child. Seungwan sighed then smiled, looking at Seulgi being so happy wasn't a normal sight. "I hope it turns out like that too."

"We're here."

The dealership looked way too fancy to be a dealership. Expensive sports cars like the lamborghini and ferrari  were put under display right in front of the dealership. "Wow, I assume this isn't a normal car dealership?" Seulgi asked, making Seungwan nod.

"Good morning ladies, how may I help you today?" The employee at the front desk asked. "We're looking for a car today."

"Alright, let me just hook you up with one of our dealers, and we'll see what we can do."

-

It was 3:00pm and Joohyun and Sooyoung were currently driving to KS Building. Joohyun stared at the window in deep thought.

"What's on your mind?" Sooyoung asked, making Joohyun sigh. "Just thinking.."

"About what?"

"Life. I have my own successful business, a new annoying neighbor who keeps nagging me to go out on a date with her, and now I'm opening yet another store in KS Shopping Mall which is going to take a lot of time and effort out of my already packed schedule."

"Seems rough, although there's one good thing in there."

"And what is that?"

"Seulgi." Joohyun groaned at the youngers response. "Joohyun, don't you think that she left a bad impression? Maybe your first impression on her is affecting you too much. You seriously need to get in a relationship and all that jazz, your life is too dry." Joohyun gasped and slapped the girl who was currently steering the wheel.

"OW! Hey, I'm driving you know!!"

"You do NOT talk about my life, that's too personal!!"

"But unnie, you know what relieves stress? ." Joohyun groaned, suddenly thinking about her and Seulgi kissing, which caught her off guard.

"OMO!!!" Joohyun covered her beet red face, extremely flustered. "HAHA! I knew that would trigger somet

Chapter 7: There's finally a breakthrough! Clear progress right here
\(^-^)/ ♡
Jisoo was spot on with her observations about Seulgi and Irene's personality, and I actually do agree that some of those could've made a bad combination had things been different. Had Seulgi not been attracted to Irene's feisty and headstrong personality, there certainly wouldn't be a chasing or pursuing of sorts from Seulgi's end towards Irene. Interestingly enough, their similarities does give them an edge when it comes to their own agenda no matter how people may look at it as a possible setback or cause of issue. On the other hand, their differences are the things that makes it possible for them to be more connected and go seamlessly together in terms of temperament and the like. It was those things that kept them coming back for more. While those traits looked and sounded undesirable and annoying at first glance, it was those things that really grabbed attention and made it stay. Without those things, I think nothing would standout and make both of them stop and look twice at the other.

Irene's backstory was credible enough to make such lasting impact on her that she basically turned into a different person the moment everything was said and done. I don't know what would be Seulgi's own story, but I'm guessing that she might be able to relate and identify enough with Irene because of her own background. Other than her personality, maybe her experience could end up somehow mirroring some of what Irene experienced before. If not, well there would still be no issue anyway. Whatever her story might be, they actually match and fit well with other. Their past won't have much bearing as long as they give each other a chance and remember that they could just make a better history out of the present if they so wish to really let the past stay as the past.

By the way, it turned out that a flustered Joohyun is a laughably adorable and clumsy Joohyun XD More of this please hahaha Not only was it entertaining, it was also a testament to her finally lowering down her walls bit by bit to and for Seulgi.

Chapter 6: Joohyun’s attitude towards Seulgi frustrates me. She belittles Seulgi while at the same time giving her mixed signals. She kept on asking if Seulgi can afford to buy this or that without even realising that she might have hurt Seulgi’s feelings with such questions just because she doesn’t look like those typical rich people. I also wonder if Seulgi’s image is one of the factors why she kept on denying Seulgi’s request for a date. She is conceited and full of herself and I can’t wait to know her reaction once she knows Seulgi’s real identity.

Chapter 6: Well, it would be nice if something were to happen that would make Joohyun at least admit that she does like Seulgi enough to consider a better relationship with her other than simply a neighbor. Anything that would move their standing along because at the rate things are going, it's more likely that Sooyoung would've already gotten together with Wendy and going steady for months because Seulrene's doing a perfect imitation of a snail's pace. Even considering Seulgi as a friend is a good enough step towards the right direction. A very small step forward is better than doing nothing at all. Seulgi and Joohyun's romantic involvement isn't even a possibility in the future at this point because of the damning stubborness and denseness on Joohyun's part. There is also the matter of Seulgi's full identity to deal with. It's getting kind of ridiculous how Joohyun and Sooyoung still misses glaring evidences or clues about Seulgi's person. They know that she is rich and that she knows people in high places, and yet they've never thought nor had a guess that maybe there is something more to Seulgi than meets the eye. There were instances that had shown Seulgi doing something that wouldn't be out of character for a person of importance, people giving her much leeway and respect, Seulgi knowing things at far greater detail, etc. and yet they've never processed those events as clues of Seulgi's identity. Just how blind can Joohyun and Sooyoung be for not suspecting even a little bit? They even missed an opportunity to know more about Seulgi at the party. They could've subtly asked the other partygoers if they know Seulgi and her line of work, you know XD Ask around or pretend that they don't know Seulgi and ask them who she is because they have never seen her before. They wasted the chance hahaha

Chapter 6: I hope they know soon so she doesn’t say things like that to seulgi. Good thing she doesn’t take it to the heart
