Meeting

It had been 4 days since Seulgi last saw Joohyun and Yongsun; Seulgi didn't really have time to properly ask Joohyun out yet, she was too busy.

Seulgi was quietly sitting on her office chair staring at the paper in front of her.

"RESCHEDULE MEETING WITH BAE PRODUCTS"

"They want a rescheduled meeting, Seulgi," Jisoo quietly looked at her copy of the paper before sighing again. "I don't understand why they would cancel a meeting that took over 6 months to plan." Seulgi nodded in agreement as she read the paper agreements again.

"Alright, you'll just go to the meeting then. The matter seems irrelevant to me right now, they're losing a lot of money right now, shouldn't we be worried?" Jisoo nodded, grabbing another envelope from her folder giving it to Seulgi. Seulgi raised her brow as she looked at the envelope, it looked like a personal envelope.

"What is this?"

"Theres a business party coming up, and its being hosted at some rooftop. It's a party where other people can meet each other and form collabs or something, or maybe just talk- who knows. There's gonna be a bunch of rich people there- CEO's, Idols, politicians maybe?"

"Next week Sunday, right?" Jisoo nodded as she watched Seulgi rip off the envelope case and open the card.

"Yes. There's also a plus one other option, so if you're planning on going and bringing a plus one, please inform me before Friday." Seulgi nodded as she read the paper again. Maybe Joohyun will go?

Meanwhile

Joohyun was quietly working in her office until a knock on the door had startled her, causing her to mess up on her signature. Rolling her eyes slightly annoyed, Joohyun groaned, "come in."

Sooyoung opened the door and quickly closed it behind her. Joohyun took a quick glance at Sooyoung as she was still reading the form previously before Sooyoung entered. "You look happy" the smaller one bluntly stated.

"Well yes, I am. Thank you for noticing unnie, want to hear what I'm happy about?" she smiled. No answer was heard which made Sooyoung grumble. "Of course you're not."

"Anyways, the meeting with Ms. Kim has been rescheduled!!! I mean, after you somehow wanted to stay at home out of all days, it just had to be that day. I even took 6 months to plan that meeting and you just canceled it like that!!!" Joohyun raised her brow, "are you here to rant or actually inform me like a real secretary?"

Sooyoung cleared then apologized. "Anyways, the meeting will be tomorrow at 10:00am in KS building. "I have a feeling that you'd bail out again, so I'm going to take it out of my time to pick your lazy up at 9:00am."

"Wow, Sooyoung. You're a much bigger mom than me!" Joohyun chuckled as she continued to fast read her unfinished papers. "Ugh! Whatever, just be ready when I get there- and look presentable! Wait, why am I even telling you this?" Joohyun shrugged, "because you care about me?" Joohyun then proceeded to laugh loudly at her own joke.

"That isn't funny."

"Well to me it is, deal with it."

"Ugh! I'm leaving now, you better leave too and get some rest.. Oh- and before I leave- there's a business party on Sunday that's hosted every year for business people to meet other business people. A lot of different kinds of people are going there, actually."

"Mhmmmmmmm."

"Tell me if you're going or not. There's also a plus one option if you want to bring anyone with you.. Anyways, I'm leaving now, and you should too. You need to get some rest. Bye, unnie!"

Joohyun nodded in agreement, checking up a few last minute checks before leaving. It was already 5:30pm and Joohyun was let off work a bit earlier than usual by Sooyoung, who isn't even her boss. Joohyun would usually stay in the office for a bit longer, but Sooyoung was right- she did need some rest.

Looking at the mirror, Joohyun looked pale as ever with eye bags. Her makeup even looked worn out, she looked like a pale monster. Joohyun then took another look at her schedule tomorrow. "K..S building?" To her honesty she had no idea what KS building was or where it was located, good thing Sooyoung was going to pick her up.

"Wait a minute, KS? KS Shopping Mall?!" Joohyun finally remembered what meeting was tomorrow. It was about her opening up another store on the other side of KS Shopping Mall. However, they hadn't released any new products in the past few weeks, so sales have been slow and it's making them question whether or not they should let her open up another store.

My memory isn't serving me right nowadays. Joohyun sighed as she grabbed her car keys and headed off to her car.

After about 5 minutes, Joohyun finally spotted her penthouse building. After parking her car, she spotted another car driving towards her. Is that...?

"Oh, hi Joohyun!" Seulgi waved out of her car window, later parking it next to Joohyun's lamborghini. It was kind of sad, really. Seeing a rusted up car next to her new, squeaky clean lamborghini. Seulgi quickly got out of the car and walked towards Joohyun. "Did you just get off of work too?" she smiled.

Joohyun nodded, then walked towards the elevator. Seulgi quietly followed her as if she was a lost puppy. "So, what did you do at work today? You look like ." Joohyun stared at the girl who was trying to start a conversation with her, is she trying to insult me?!

"I just signed papers all day.." Seulgi gasped in amazement. "Also, I didn't know that you were one for swearing-"

"Wow, you seem like a pretty boring CEO." Joohyun then raised her hand at Seulgi in rage and Seulgi covered herself in brace for the slap, but nothing came. A few chuckles were heard from Joohyun who seemed to be laughing at Seulgi (surprisingly.)

"You're laughing?"

"Sorry, that was funny. I know I shouldn't be laughing but I still am," saying that made Joohyun laugh even more at herself. Seulgi widened her eyes as she was extremely confused, but seeing Joohyun laugh made her calm down a bit. It was really cute.

"You should smile more." Seulgi suggested, looking at Joohyun with soft eyes. "Why?"

"It shows your features better." Joohyun stared at the taller, she didn't know whether or not Seulgi was just trying to be flirty or actually saying it because she thought that they actually looked better when she smiled.

"Thanks?" Seulgi smiled, walking into the elevator that had just showed up. Joohyun quickly followed, allowing Seulgi to press the button for floor 40 herself. Joohyun suddenly felt like asking a really random question to Seulgi.

"So Joohyun, go out with me?" Seulgi asked in hopes that the smaller girl would say yes. Joohyun immediately said no making the girl whine. "Why not?"

"I don't want to."

"How many times shall I ask to get a yes?"

"0, because I'll never say yes!" Seulgi just laughed the harsh comment off and kept a smile on. "I'll just keep trying, Joohyun!" Joohyun snarled as she kept her eyes straight towards the door waiting for it to open.

"Joohyun, go out with me!"

"No."

"Joohyun! Please go out with me!" The girl begged 2 seconds later making Joohyun even more annoyed. God when will this elevator open?!

"IRENE! Go out with me!"

"Irene?"

"Yes, Irene. Want to know what it means?" Joohyun had her brow raised as if she was waiting for an answer, making Seulgi smile.

"It means goddess of peace!" Joohyun chuckled, Irene? Her? She is definitely not the goddess of peace. Her life is the complete opposite of peace.

"Wow, I'm soo flattered," Joohyun sarcastically said. "Really?" Seulgi asked happily, as if she didn't get a hint to Joohyun's sarcasticness. "I should call you Irene then!"

"No, please don't."

"Aw.. But Irene suits you- don't you think?" Seulgi tried to wink, but it failed miserably making Joohyun cringe a bit.

"No. Not at all." DING The elevator had finally opened to floor 40, fortunately for Joohyun.

"Now if you excuse me, I have a very important meeting to attend to tomorrow, and I need my sleep." Joohyun quickly dashed to her penthouse not wanting to hear another word from the girl.

"Wait Joohyun! Did you eat dinner yet? Want to go out for dinner? I can drive!" Seulgi exclaimed, constantly annoying the smaller girl. Joohyun didn't listen to one bit of Seulgi's blabbering and just unlocked her door, proceeding to shut it in front of Seulgi's face once she got in.

Seulgi frowned at the sudden slam of the door, feeling down a bit that she got rejected once again.

"UGHHH! Finally, I'm at peace," Joohyun sighed as she dragged her feet off th

Chapter 7: There's finally a breakthrough! Clear progress right here
\(^-^)/ ♡
Jisoo was spot on with her observations about Seulgi and Irene's personality, and I actually do agree that some of those could've made a bad combination had things been different. Had Seulgi not been attracted to Irene's feisty and headstrong personality, there certainly wouldn't be a chasing or pursuing of sorts from Seulgi's end towards Irene. Interestingly enough, their similarities does give them an edge when it comes to their own agenda no matter how people may look at it as a possible setback or cause of issue. On the other hand, their differences are the things that makes it possible for them to be more connected and go seamlessly together in terms of temperament and the like. It was those things that kept them coming back for more. While those traits looked and sounded undesirable and annoying at first glance, it was those things that really grabbed attention and made it stay. Without those things, I think nothing would standout and make both of them stop and look twice at the other.

Irene's backstory was credible enough to make such lasting impact on her that she basically turned into a different person the moment everything was said and done. I don't know what would be Seulgi's own story, but I'm guessing that she might be able to relate and identify enough with Irene because of her own background. Other than her personality, maybe her experience could end up somehow mirroring some of what Irene experienced before. If not, well there would still be no issue anyway. Whatever her story might be, they actually match and fit well with other. Their past won't have much bearing as long as they give each other a chance and remember that they could just make a better history out of the present if they so wish to really let the past stay as the past.

By the way, it turned out that a flustered Joohyun is a laughably adorable and clumsy Joohyun XD More of this please hahaha Not only was it entertaining, it was also a testament to her finally lowering down her walls bit by bit to and for Seulgi.

Chapter 6: Joohyun’s attitude towards Seulgi frustrates me. She belittles Seulgi while at the same time giving her mixed signals. She kept on asking if Seulgi can afford to buy this or that without even realising that she might have hurt Seulgi’s feelings with such questions just because she doesn’t look like those typical rich people. I also wonder if Seulgi’s image is one of the factors why she kept on denying Seulgi’s request for a date. She is conceited and full of herself and I can’t wait to know her reaction once she knows Seulgi’s real identity.

Chapter 6: Well, it would be nice if something were to happen that would make Joohyun at least admit that she does like Seulgi enough to consider a better relationship with her other than simply a neighbor. Anything that would move their standing along because at the rate things are going, it's more likely that Sooyoung would've already gotten together with Wendy and going steady for months because Seulrene's doing a perfect imitation of a snail's pace. Even considering Seulgi as a friend is a good enough step towards the right direction. A very small step forward is better than doing nothing at all. Seulgi and Joohyun's romantic involvement isn't even a possibility in the future at this point because of the damning stubborness and denseness on Joohyun's part. There is also the matter of Seulgi's full identity to deal with. It's getting kind of ridiculous how Joohyun and Sooyoung still misses glaring evidences or clues about Seulgi's person. They know that she is rich and that she knows people in high places, and yet they've never thought nor had a guess that maybe there is something more to Seulgi than meets the eye. There were instances that had shown Seulgi doing something that wouldn't be out of character for a person of importance, people giving her much leeway and respect, Seulgi knowing things at far greater detail, etc. and yet they've never processed those events as clues of Seulgi's identity. Just how blind can Joohyun and Sooyoung be for not suspecting even a little bit? They even missed an opportunity to know more about Seulgi at the party. They could've subtly asked the other partygoers if they know Seulgi and her line of work, you know XD Ask around or pretend that they don't know Seulgi and ask them who she is because they have never seen her before. They wasted the chance hahaha

Chapter 6: I hope they know soon so she doesn’t say things like that to seulgi. Good thing she doesn’t take it to the heart
