This week is a busy one for us at the student council.

Because org week had just finished, it's time for them to submit their timetable for the year, along with the background sheet of their new members. Ryujin and Yunjin dropped by the office to hand in theirs as the heads of the COMM TV organization, followed by Gaeul's for her film club. And then there's Minjeong for our chess club.

That was the last time I saw her. Mga 8am pa 'yun.

Looking at my watch, mag-l-lunch na. But I think I'll skip today. I'm the one assigned para basahin ang timetables ng kada org which is so much work. Kailangan kong makita kung may mag-c-clash ba sa schedule o ano. And I'm not even halfway done.

Grabe kasi yung Shakespeare Club. Nasa three hundred pages ang kanila!

I can feel my phone buzzing from the side of my office desk. For sure hinahanap na ako ng mga kaibigan ko. I decided to have a look.

Yup, as expected. My girls are looking from me. They're mentioning me sa GC. Nasa usual table lang daw sila sa canteen, telling me they'll wait for me. 

And of course, another notification from my miss president. Minjeong. She has sent me a ton of texts since I kept my phone away. Messages niya lang ang binuksan ko.

MJ ❤️ (8:40am): Kita ko dami mong paperworks sa desk. Dagdag pa yung sa chess club natin.

MJ ❤️ (8:41am): Kaya here's a one-page summary of our timetable.

MJ ❤️ (8:41am): [Minjeong sent an attachment]

MJ ❤️ (8:42am): Sana makatulong po! 

Oh my God, has she always been this thoughtful? Buti hindi ko pa tinitignan yung sa chess club. Minjeong's summary will come in handy later.

I went to read Minjeong's texts some more. In fairness, for the tadtad siya today. I should busy myself often then. Usually kasi ako ang unang nag-chchat sa amin lagi. Ako yung madalas nangungulit. Tapos parang nabaliktad 'yun today. Siya naman ang nangungulit which is rare. She must be bored haha!

At napansin ko na madalas na siyang mag-text pag nasa campus kami ever since I joined the chess club. I guess this is a sign na nawawala na ang set-up namin. I understand naman na hindi agad yun mabubura. I know she's still shy to be seen around with me at campus sa harap ng iba. Especially when they give us the stares which I also hate. Do they not want me around Minjeong? Ayaw ba nila sa akin? But if it's the other way around, I'm ready to fight just anybody. Wag lang sila umepal sa amin ng kaibigan ko.

MJ ❤️ (10:30am): First class done. It was boring.

MJ ❤️ (10:47am): Btw next week ko na mabibili yung jimnyyy. Sasamahan daw ako ni dad.

Woah, she's finally gonna get her dream car! Simula high school palang kami, gusto na niya nito because it sounds like my name daw haha..

Cute mo talaga kahit kelan.

MJ ❤️ (11:13am): Jimin, excited na ako. Share ko lang po. 🥰

MJ ❤️ (11:15am): I get to drive you around naaa

MJ ❤️ (11:15am): May kotse na tayo sa bahay!

I let out a sigh. Kung nandito lang siya, nakurot ko na mga pisngi no'n.

I finally read her most recent message.

MJ ❤️ (11:58am): Hi gusto po kita sana kasabay mag lunch today.

Suddenly, I feel so pretty.

MJ ❤️ (11:59am): Tapos ano

Napataas ang kilay ko.

MJ ❤️ (11:59am): Kahit sa di matao kung mas gusto mo yon

MJ ❤️ (11:59am): Jimin

MJ ❤️ (12:00pm): Wala

MJ ❤️ (12:01pm): Yun lang

Guys, nababasa niyo ba mga texts niya?! Nagigigil din ba kayo katulad ko?! Lahat na ba tayo nakangiti?!

I sigh again. How can this girl be so—

Dinaan ko nalang ang gigil ko sa pag-type. 

Me: I like being seen with you, Minjeong.

Me: I'll meet you at your usual table sa canteen. Wait me there, hm?

I also chose to reply about her new car.

Me: Can't wait for the jimny!! 🤩

Me: I finally get to be your passenger princess mwahaha

Me: Watch me decorate it with my pink stuff 😈

I ended up laughing from my silly reply. I catch Minjeong suddenly typing.

MJ ❤️: OK 😀

I laughed some more. I think this is the second or third time that she used emojis this week!

I actually meant it when I said na lalagyan ko ng pink stuff kotse niya.

Knowing Minjeong, she'll let me do whatever I want.

Me: Punta na ako sayo 😁

It took me about ten minutes pa bago ako makaalis ng canteen. Kinausap pa ako ni Ate Eunbi eh. She's the president of the student council.

Knowing that I'm keeping Minjeong waiting, nagmadali na ako papuntang canteen. 

Nasabihan ko na rin sila Yunjin na sa iba ako sasabay today. 

When I got there, I was stopped from my tracks when I saw Minjeong with someone else. And that someone else is Minju. What's she doing with her?

Don't tell me naunahan nanaman ako?

I shrug the weighing feeling within me and walk up to them. Si Minjeong una kong nginitian, placing my hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, you." I greeted her sabay umupo sa tabi niya. Let's say I'm lucky today na sa tapat pumwesto si Minju at hindi sa tabi nito. I then greeted the latter with a smile.

"Rina, 'di ka daw sasabay sa amin today?"

Sasagot na sana ako but Minjeong beat me to it. "Inaya ko si Rina for lunch actually." She tells Minju.

"Oh, so ikaw pala ang tinutukoy ni Rina na kasabay today." Sagot ni Minju kay Minjeong, having read the message na pinaalam ko sa kanila sa GC. Dapat pala sinabi ko na agad na si Minjeong kasabay ko.

Anyway, it feels nice that she was able to admit that she asked me out for lunch openly to someone else tapos si Minju pa. However, it feels off that she used my other name instead. 

Understandable, I guess. Nag aadjust pa si Minjeong—perhaps she's just shy. I should definitely assure her soon na okay lang pag tinawag niya akong Jimin sa harap ng iba, na mas gusto ko pag tinatawag niya ako nito.

"Ikaw, Minju. What brings you here?" I asked the girl in front.

"Uh, ano..." I watch her turn nervously to look at Minjeong. "The girls wanted to have me ask Winter kung gusto niya kaming makasabay today." Bumalik ang tingin ni Minju sa akin.

I felt my eyebrows rise. My reaction? My thoughts? Wala. 

It's Minjeong's choice eh. But I'm really hoping na kami lang for lunch. Nauna naman ako-
