Chapter 21 – I could and maybes

Taeyeon’s POV

“Taeyeon-ah” my father keep shouting my name, that’s my cue to head for the stage.

I walk out of the balcony and go straight to the stage. Baekhyun is already there. He looks very handsome. Even though he still had his baby face I could tell he matured to a fine guy. He offers me his hand, which I take because walking up the stairs with this dress aint easy. We smile at each other, but the smile is more polite than friendly. Yhh he doesn’t want to marry a stranger either.

I face the crowd and at the back of the audience I see them. My best friend and her girlfriend, the doe eyed girl with a pretty girl next to her which I assume is Krystal Jung and whoa…. She is here too.

She is beautiful, wearing a white dress, her favourite colour. For a moment I think we locked eyes, or maybe I’m just dreaming. She’s too far away anyways, we couldn’t have locked eyes. And then she rans away. Why is she running away? Is she ok?

“Taeyeon-ah!” I totally forgot I’m on the stage, I blanked out.

I look at my father for answers.

“Well introduce yourself darling”

“Uhmm, right. Hello everyone. My name is Kim Taeyeon, the youngest daughter of the Kim’s family. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

Everybody gives me an accepting look and claps.

My father turns to Baekhyun and gives him the mic.

“Hey guys” he gives everyone a bright smile “I’m the only son of the Byun family, it’s an honor to be here tonight with the Kims. Please take care of me”

Yep he didn’t change one bit. Still bubbly and nice.

After the speech, father let me go mingle and so I go straight to my friends. Ignoring all the sponsors and people from other high up companies who wanted to talk to me.

“Hey, didn’t know you were coming”

“OMG you are the richest person in the whole Asia” Yoona said loudly

“Babe did you know?” Yuri asked her girlfriend

Everyone looked at Tiffany

“It’s not her fault guys. I wanted to keep it a secret”

“But why?”

“It’s complicated, I will tell you later.” The girls nodded

“What happened to Jessica?”

“Oh we don’t know. She started crying and just ran”

“She cried?”

“Yhh but I think she wants some alone time” Yoona saw that I wanted to run after the idol so she stopped me

“Oh okay,…. Are you guys enjoying the party?”

“Yhh this gala is huge” the younger Jung finally spoke up “I’m Krystal, Jessica’s sister”

“And my girlfriend” lool seriously Yoona?

“Yhh I put one and one together, it’s nice to meet you Krystal. I’m Taeyeon” I reached my hand out but she went in and hugged me

But it wasn’t a warm hug, she hugged me to whisper “If you hurt my sister, I’m going to kill you”

She pulled away and put on the biggest smile.

Damnn Jung sisters are really scary.

I give her a weak smile and nod.

We talk some more, but I was still worried about Jessica, so I excused myself and texted her.

Where are you?               I wait a few moments, but she doesn’t reply

Jessica?

….

Answer me please, I’m worried.                Still no answer and I start to really panic.

Jessica please I’m scared, where are you.             I was about to lose my cool and run out of this party, when my phone buzzes

                                                                                         I’m ok, don’t worry

Jeez, you scared me. Where are you?

                                                                                         You don’t have to come. Enjoy your party.

Just tell me where you are. I want to talk

Idk, I just want to see you.
