Chapter 12 – The Dongsaeng

Jessica’s POV

Last moments here, this camp gave me some good memories, even though most of them are confusing I really enjoyed having a normal student life. Everyone took their bags and started to walk towards the bus station. Because our team won – aka the Taeyeon team – the other team had to take few of our belonging as a punishment. That’s why the walk was faster, maybe because I didn’t have to carry anything haha.

Soon we arrived at the bus station and the bus took us back to Seoul. There we only said bye to each other, maybe because everybody was tired, maybe because we knew that after the weekend we’ll see each other again. I took a cab and headed home.

Opening my door revealed a grayish “home” that made me feel so lonely at times, but this time it was different, something felt different, it smelled human, other human than me. And I definitely knew this human.

So happy I started to look for a glimpse of her, no lights were on except of the at the entrance hall which I just so I quickly made my way to the living room. Why? If you knew this person like me you’d understand. The living room - the place with the best wifi, a big screen and a comfy sofa to fall asleep on at any time. You’d think I’m describing myself, well no we’re the same, since we’re sisters.

“Unnie!!!!” Krystal who was giggling over some text she just got saw me and immediately jumped up from the sofa into my arms

I hugged my sister back. Oh how I missed this little kiddo.

“Wait how did you get in?”

“Found the key in the flowerpot” She knows me so well

“Ahhh. So what are you doing here?”

“What? Can’t I come to see my sister?”

“You can but, you never did”

“And you blame me? You’re always busy with shootings, how am I supposed to know when to come?”

“Arraso, arraso. But really why now?”

“I missed you sooo much” When did she become so cheesy?

“Wait I smell something fishy”

“What? You are always suspicious”

“Well should I not be?”

“Okay fine, I got into the Seoul High”

“Wait what? You are kidding”

“Can’t believe it huh?”

“Did you really get in?”

“Yup and on a scholarship”

“Wow I’m impressed little sis”

“You should be”

If any of you don’t know what Seoul High means, it’s a school for the smartest kids out there. The school that will 100% get their students into the best colleges in the world. This means there’s a 90% chance that you’ll be successful in your carrier.  

But getting is a complicated process; you’ll need to have the best grades, also to do lots of outdoor activities that could somehow contribute to the society.

I’m so proud of Krystal, who knew there’s a genius in my family.

“So you came here to brag?”

“Well yeah, but to be honest I need a place to stay in”

“What? What about Granny’s house?”

“It’s 2 hours away from the school” Makes sense, Seoul High is only 15 minutes from here

“So you’re gonna live here?”

“Yeah”

“Without asking me?”

“Uhmmm”

“Yah!!”

“I already took the guest room” she walked towards the guest room and looked back at me “Merong”

“Aish this kid”

But for the first time living here I felt like at home. It was warmer…..

Krystal’s POV

Cink Cink Cink

What is this? It’s Saturday, I don’t have an alarm. And Jessica would never wake up soon. Aishhh who is it??

I dragged my sleepy body towards the door and opened it, without opening my eyes.

“Krystal?” Hearing my name being called like that, without looking up I knew it was her

“Hi” Finally meeting her eyes I saw the angelic face, I’ve been dreaming of ever since our childhood

“What are you doing here?” I asked her

“Visiting Sica-unnie. I didn’t know you live here”

“Yeah just moved in yesterday”

“Oh…” We got in the living room and sat down

“Want water?”

“Ah yeah, that’d be great” God this is so awkward

I brought us some water and sat down a bit further from her

“She’s still sleeping” God Jessica please wake up, I can’t handle this much longer

“Yeah I figured”

Sitting there looking anywhere but each other felt like hours.

“So how are you?” She finally broke the silence

“Good” Awkward…..

“Oh… that’s good”
