“Target approximately three meters from your location, S.” Soojung mumbled through her rifle’s scope as she spotted the target from ten stories above.
The young woman was poised against the concrete balustrade of the building, her rifle secured in her hands. The wind blew, sending strands of hair against her face but she didn’t bother fixing it.
The voice from her receiver replied, “Copy that, K.”
“Two meters prox.”
“One…” Soojung counted and then, she saw the man disappear from her sight, having been pulled back into a secluded alley.
She focused her sight on the alley’s entrance, knowing full well that should S fail, she’ll be the one to finish the job. Soojung could hear S interrogating the man through the receiver.
“Where’s the Pink Tape?”
There was a muffled reply. Soojung reckoned that it came from their target. “I-I don’t know what you’re-”
“This is the last time I’m going to repeat. Tell me where the Pink Tape is and I’ll let you live.”
Soojung could hear the fear in the man’s voice as he divulged the information. “It’s- It’s in Jeju! In Jeju! The Pink Tape is in Jeju Island!”
“I need specifics.”
“That’s all I know! Please, don’t kill me! I beg you!”
“Are you sure, it’s at Jeju?”
“Yes! Yes! That’s what the-they t-told me. Please, spare me!”
“Okay.”
Then, Soojung heard the man whimper before she heard a loud thud. S had probably killed their target.
“Target eliminated.”
“Good. Return to base, K and S.” Both K and S heard over their receiver.
Soojung remained in her position, eyes locked into the scope as she sighted Jinri walking out casually from the alley where their target had disappeared to. Jinri had been thorough about not leaving traces of murder on her apparel as she walked away from the crime scene unscat
