CHAPTER 50
I MADE THE HEROINE FALL FOR MEAt Hastings Academy,
During the Physical Education class, the Alpha boys from the special class were play basketball with Omega boys. Meanwhile, the Alpha girls faced off against the Omega girls in a volleyball match.
Serena and a few other Omegas, not particularly fond of sports, found themselves seated on the bleachers, observing the game.
On the volleyball court, Charlie stood as the captain of the Alphas, leading her team with confidence. Across the net, Selena, the captain of the Omegas, met her gaze with determination.
With a smirk, Selena taunted Charlie, "Are you ready to cry, alpha?"
Charlie pissed off by Selena's remarks. "Bring it on, you little pipsqueak!" she retorted, ready to prove her team's superiority.
Charlie: >.<
As the game commenced, it quickly became evident that the Alphas held a significant advantage. Their precise serves and powerful spikes left the Omega team scrambling to keep up.
However, despite the odds stacked against them, Selena's leadership and skill kept the Omega team in the game. With quick reflexes and strategic plays, she managed to hold her own against the Alphas.
In one impressive display, Charlie launched a powerful spike towards the Omega side. But Selena, with her exceptional speed and agility, managed to intercept the ball, sending it back over the net with a precise bump.
The omegas watching erupted into cheers as the Omega team scored a point, their spirits lifted by Selena's impressive performance. Though the Alphas maintained their lead, Selena's resilience and determination proved that the Omegas were not to be underestimated.
In the midst of the match, Selena couldn't resist a taunt directed at Charlie. "Is that the best you've got, alpha? I expected more from someone who claims to be the top of the pack!" Her words echoed across the court, igniting a competitive fire within both teams.
Charlie felt a surge of irritation at Selena's taunt, her competitive spirit ignited. With narrowed eyes, she prepared to serve, her focus sharpening.
"Oh, you haven't seen anything yet," Charlie retorted sharply, her voice edged with determination. She sent the volleyball soaring over the net with precision, aiming directly for Selena.
As the ball hurtled towards her, Selena's reflexes kicked in, and she deftly returned the serve. But Charlie was ready, positioning herself perfectly to receive the ball. With a powerful spike, she sent it crashing down onto the Omega side of the court, earning a resounding point for the Alphas.
Charlie's fierce glare never wavered as she locked eyes with Selena, a silent challenge passing between them.
"Nice try," Charlie shot back, her words dripping with sarcasm. She was determined to lead her team to victory, her competitive spirit burning brighter than ever.
As Serena watched from the bleachers, a pang of jealousy tugged at her heartstrings. Seeing Charlie and Selena locked in this intense exchange, their competitive spirits on full display, stirred conflicting emotions within her.
On one hand, she admired Charlie's determination and skill, her heart swelling with pride at the sight of Charlie dominating the game. But on the other hand, the playful banter between Charlie and Selena ignited a spark of jealousy deep within Serena's chest.
She couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy as she watched them interact, their chemistry undeniable even in the midst of competition. It reminded her of the bond they once shared, a bond that seemed unbreakable despite their differences.
'Why do I feel like this? They obviously hate each other but why... am I feeling this?' Serena thought while frowning. Serena is confident about herself but she can't help but feel insecure towards Selena. Selana is also an S-Class Omega like her and also smart and very beautiful. Serena remembered how Charlie and her started like that at first, they hated each other then they fall in love. She's afraid that Charlie might fall for Selena and she hated that thought.
Unable to bear watching any longer, Serena turned away from the court, her jaw clenched with frustration. She knew she had no right to feel this way, but the sting of jealousy lingered, casting a shadow over her thoughts as she retreated from the scene.
Charlie watched intently as Serena descended from the bleachers, her gaze following Serena's every move. She couldn't help but notice the furrow in Serena's brow, a stark contrast to her usual serene demeanor. Concern crept into Charlie's mind as she wondered what could be troubling Serena.
Then, as if in slow motion, Charlie watched as the basketball soared through the air toward Serena, a sense of helplessness washing over her. But before Charlie could even shout a warning, Cato sprang into action, his arms enveloping Serena in a protective embrace, shielding her from the impending impact. A surge of conflicting emotions swept through Charlie as she witnessed the scene unfold before her eyes.
On one hand, she felt relieved that Serena was safe, grateful for Cato's quick reflexes. Yet, at the same time, a pang of jealousy gnawed at her insides as she watched the intimate moment between Cato and Serena. A flicker of insecurity danced in Charlie's mind as she struggled to reconcile her protective instincts with the unexpected jealousy that coursed through her veins.
Lost in her tumultuous thoughts, Charlie failed to notice the volleyball hurtling toward her from the other end of the gymnasium. With a resounding thud, the ball struck Charlie squarely on the head, jolting her back to the reality of the volleyball game.
Selena's guilt weighed heavily on her as she watched Charlie rub her sore head, her own embarrassment evident in the flush that colored her cheeks.
"H-hey! Why aren't you looking?! I-It was your fault for not focusing on the game!" Selena stammered, struggling to articulate her apology.
Charlie, however, seemed unfazed by the incident, her response casual and nonchalant.
"I'm fine... I'll just go to the infirmary.." Charlie's tone betrayed little emotion as she made her way towards the infirmary, leaving Selena to follow in her wake.
"I'll come with you..." Selena mumbled, her gaze fixed on the floor as she avoided Charlie's eyes.
With a resigned sigh, Charlie acquiesced, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of the recent events on the court.
As they walked in silence towards the infirmary, Charlie couldn't shake the image of Cato rushing to Serena's aid.
'Well..
