Charlotte woke up to the sound of a gentle knock on her door.

“Miss, it’s time to wake up,” Aunt Carol's voice called from the other side.

Opening her eyes, Charlotte found herself still in the luxurious room she had been given. Reality hit her once again — this was no dream. She reminded herself of the need to maintain her villainous facade, despite the temptation to be kind to Serena. After all, she was still navigating the rules of this unfamiliar world.

With a resigned sigh, Charlotte proceeded with her morning routine, contemplating the challenges of playing the role of a villain. Despite her internal struggles, she knew she had to keep up appearances.

Descending to the breakfast table, Charlotte requested Aunt Carol to summon Serena once again. Serena appeared, silent and guarded, taking her place at the table.

“Good Morning, Serena,” Charlotte greeted, offering a friendly smile.

However, Serena's response was a chilling glare that sent a shiver down Charlotte's spine.

“By the way, Serena, you have to drink the medicine that the doctor prescribed for you. Also, I asked Aunt Carol to buy inhibitors and suppressant patches for you. As an Omega experiencing her first fever period… The doctor mentioned it might be a little aggressive this time, so it's important to have them on hand, especially at school, okay?” Charlie explained.

(A/N: Inhibitors are injected at the glands to prevent and stop the fever period of both Alphas and Omegas. Suppressant patches are used to cover the glands and prevent the release of pheromones.)

Serena was taken aback by the kindness Charlie was showing. Though she didn’t trust her, Serena knew she needed the inhibitors and suppressant patches. With no means to acquire them herself, she reluctantly accepted Charlie’s offer.

“Thank you,” Serena murmured, her guard momentarily lowered.

“Hey, no need to thank me! I’m not doing it for you!” Charlotte quickly interjected, maintaining her facade. “I’m afraid that people will view me as a monster if I don’t treat you right!”

“Don’t they already think that?” Serena said nonchalantly.

Everyone in the room including Charlie and Serena herself was like → O.O

Omg… My tongue slipped… I wasn’t supposed to blurt it out…. T.T

“H-how dare you say that to our Miss!” A girl in a maid uniform almost shouted.

Serena tightly gripped the spoon she’s holding waiting for a slap on her face that never came…

Before the maid can even lay her hands on Serena it was taken by Charlie.

“Hey, what do you think you’re doing? Haven’t you learned anything from yesterday?” Charlie said. 

She d the maid’s hands with an Alpha’s strength and it was so painful that the maid can’t help but shed tears.

“Why do you people always result in physical violence?! This is what you want, is it?” As Charlie d the hands tighter.

Charlie doesn’t know why she’s doing this. She’s only supposed to lecture the maid but when it comes to the Omega infront of her when she sees her getting hurt… she can’t help but show aggression.

Maybe because of Alpha’s natural instinct to protect an Omega?

“I-I’m s-sorry m-miss… It won’t happen again… Miss Sutherland… I’m sorry…” The maid cried.

After hearing the maid apologize, Charlie let go of the hands and looked at all the servants in the dining hall who looked scared.

“To everyone here, if you dare hurt Serena Sutherland again… be prepared for the repercussions, understood?” Charlie firmly said.

“Oh and Aunt Carol, have this maid and the other one from yesterday be fired and blacklisted from this industry…” Charlie followed up.

“B-but Miss…”

“What do you want to be fired too?” Charlie smugly said.

“No Miss, I understand.” Aunt Carol said bowing to Charlie.

Everyone was shocked and scared about what Charlie did because being fired is one thing and being blacklisted in the industry is another thing.. They won’t be able to work with another prestigious family once they are blacklisted.

Serena’s mind was confused again… 

‘She has protected me again.’

‘What’s her deal?’

‘Why can’t I seem to read her this time?’

‘What game are you playing Charlie?’

‘Why instead of torturing me for calling you a monster like you always do, you protected me from the person who tried to stand on your behalf…’

‘Are you really the person I know?’

“Hey Serena, get your bag, let’s go to school.” Charlie said and she took her bag to go to the car waiting for them just outside the house.

‘What the eff….. This car is Maybach S580…. I really am rich!’ Charlie mumbled to herself.

‘And look, the driver is even opening the door for me! This is really the life of a rich heiress ^.^’ 

The car ride was awkward and everyone in it could feel it.

“Are you, okay?” Charlie asked trying to start a conversation.

“Um.” Serena said with a faint nod.

Charlie just nodded.

“Thank you… I promise to return the favor…” Serena said coldly to Charlie.

Serena doesn’t want to owe Charlie any debt… 

‘Well, you can return the favor by not killing me….’ Charlie cried in her thoughts.

“No need to thank me… I told you… I’m doing this for my own gratification and not for you…” Charlie replied.

Serena didn’t reply after that and just look outside the window quietly.
