“So, how’s your date with the hottie?”

Hyewon grinned satisfyingly when Sakura choked on her drink and now struggling to breath normally. She was immune to the glare from the choking girl.

“First, it’s not a date. It’s just...an outing. And, we just had lunch.”

Hyewon chuckled and patted her back, as if showing her support. Sakura couldn’t help but slap her hand away.

“Come on, Sakuchan. Unless I’m blind, it was obvious enough that you like her. And that hottie is openly flirting with you.”

Sakura groaned as she put the chart of her patient on the nurse station, filling up some datas of her patient. She tried to ignore her friend. Hyewon watched Sakura ignoring her and busied herself with some charts that could be done by a nurse. As someone who knows her secret, Hyewon couldn’t help but pity the girl before her. She’s been watching Sakura for years now, and it’s kind of rare for Sakura to talk about her relationship. She understood that Sakura was afraid of the judgemental society she was in, but she also wanted her to know that it is okay to be true with her feelings.

“It’s okay, Sakuchan.”

Sakura turned her head and stared at Hyewon as if she grew another head. Hyewon can be random sometimes, and Sakura oftenly astounded by her randomness. 

“What?”

Hyewon closed the chart and pulled Sakura away from the station. She took her to the rooftop, where it was supposed to be off limits. But hey, being a hotshot surgeon has its perks. Hyewon let go of Sakura’s arm and walked toward the railing, staring at the view beneath them. She took a pack of cigarettes from her jeans pocket, offering one to Sakura. Although it’s been awhile since Sakura smoked, she took it and waited for Hyewon to light it up for her. Both staring at the view silently.

“You know,”ㅡHyewon fully inhaled the smoke with her lungs and released the smoke, giving Sakura a sideway lookㅡ”I don’t know what stopping you for took the advantage with hottieㅡokay, maybe I knowㅡbut like, you deserve to feel happy too, Sakuchan.”

Sakura inhaled slowly with the cigarette lodged in , eyes focusing on the sunset before her. She could feel Hyewon gaze on her. She blew out another puff of smoke before she forced a smile.

“You know it’s not that easy-”

“I know, but at least try? You just give up without the fight you know.”

Sakura held her gaze at Hyewon for quite some time before looking away. She knew Hyewon was right, and Sakura hated that.

“Is this coincidence, or were you stalking me?”

Sakura halted her ramen midways before she looked up at the familiar angelic sound. There she was, standing before her with a smile that could light up the room.

But wait, she’s not stalking anyone. Sakura put her chopstick in the bowl in a hurry before shaking her head.

“I-It’s purely coincidence! I didn’t know you’re here..”

Eunbi giggled and grabbed a seat in front of Sakura naturally. It makes Sakura’s stomach churn with how easy she did that.

“I’m just kidding. Maybe I’m the one stalking you because you obviously came here before me.”

Sakura tried so hard to ignore her beating hard when Eunbi tied her hair. That slender neck is screaming to beㅡ

Don’t be that weirdo, Miyawaki.

“So,”ㅡEunbi leaned forward, resting her tiny face into her palms as she staring at Sakuraㅡ”Is this seat taken? Are you waiting for someone? Should I leave?”

Sakura could feel her ramen go up to her nose as she frantically held Eunbi from leaving.

“N-No! You can sit here!”

Eunbi giggled as she passed a tissue to the poor doctor. Sakura took it gladly before she moved some of her books from the other side of the table, for Eunbi. She took a glance secretly when Eunbi ordered her meal, it felt kinda surreal to have Eunbi sitting in front of her, eating together.

Sounds like a date.

Sakura shook her head, and didn't really care with the curious glance from Eunbi. She needs to clear her head that this is definitely not a date. 

Not like she doesn’t want this to be a date, but still.

“So, you’re studying?”

Eunbi nodded at her opened book. Sakura scratched the back of her head as she closed the book slowly.

“Not really. It’s what I did when I had nothing to do. Reading..”

Eunbi hummed as she poured water into her cup. Sakura cleared as her brain tried to find a good topic for both of them.

“Uh, you’re back from practice?”

Eunbi smiles from her glass, feeling giddy from knowing that Sakura is perspective.

“Someone did her homework. How did you know I’m back from practice?”

After thanking the waitress, Sakura grinned as she pointed at Eunbi’s legging.

“Well, just an assumption since you’re wearing leggings.”

Eunbi laughed softly as she took a pair of chopsticks. Sakura watched Eunbi in silence, appreciating the beauty in front of her.
