TWENTY THREE - Goodbye

[NO ONE P.O.V]

“I – I tried to tell you the truth...”

“Soo-Sooyeon?!”

A shocked Tiffany was agape due the scene before her widened eyes. The boy in front of her was her Jessie AND SooYeon... So he was trying to say the truth after all, still she didn't listen. Jesse stared at her sadly, ashamed of having his secret revealed like this as he lowered his head, unable to look into her eyes any longer. The environment was heavy and sorrowful as all of a sudden, a snickering laughter filled the room:

"Hahaha See? It seems your dear Jesse isn't who you thought he was... Hahahaha pathetic!"

Although the drenched face boy wanted to get out of there due his shame, he couldn't thanks to Mr. Jang bulky bodyguards. However, Tiffany stared at the ashamed boy intently as her body brought her to forward unthinkingly:

"Jessie..."

She didn't know, but something in her heart couldn't bear to see him suffering like this, even with all confusion. Nonetheless, to her unhappiness, someone held her wrist roughly followed by a mocking voice:

"Where do you think you are going?! The show isn't finished yet, my dear..."

Mr. Jang added with a sly smirk as he tossed the red haired singer to his own bodyguard:

"Jun, take care of her! Make sure she won't make any stupidity!"

"Ya! Take your nasty hands of her!"

Jesse yelled angrily, trying to set himself free from the bodyguard's grasp. Once he saw Tiffany flailing in the bodyguard's grasp, unconsciously the girl felt touched with his action as she constantly shouted:

"Let me go, you sick!"

"Hahaha you can scream and whine anytime you want, but no one is going to save you!"

The president added bitterly and ends up laughing like a maniac. However, to everyone's surprise, the meeting's room door opened with a loud slam and revealing a familiar gang. The tall manager glared to the president and added harshly:

"Not so fast, Jang!"

"C-Choi?! What the' hell you are doing here?! And you too?!"

Mr. Jang said as he saw the two managers and the other members of SJY/TTS. Once the latter saw the scene, they gasped in shock:

"Jesse oppa!" "Jesse!" "Hyung!" "Jeshe?!"

Sooyoung ignored his question as he turned his attention to Jesse and asked worriedly:

"Are you all right, Jung?"

The latter nodded his head slowly as he added tiredly:

"I'm okay, hyung. But just take Tiffany away from that sicko!"

Both managers and the gang looked to the red haired singer and blurted in concern:

"TIffany!" "Fany unnie!" "Tippany!"

The latter stared at them sadly and added:

"Sorry guys, I should have see this coming. I didn't want to bring harm to anyone..."

Unconsciously, she looked down in distress since she couldn't do very much while being held by the muscular bodyguard. Afterwards, Mr. Jang rolled his eyes and blurted into an annoyed tone:

"Awww enough with this scene! Now, all of you! What are you doing in my building?! You have 10 seconds to explain before I hand you to the police! Hahaha this will perfect! I'll be free of two scum! You, SooYoung and your client! I'm a genius!"

When the president already was dialing to the police, TTS/SJY plus the managers glared at him angrily. He saw their semblances and mocked with a devious smirk:

"What?! Don't look at me like this! You two from TTS and Kwon! If you beg my forgiveness for all this rubbish, I might let you continue with your career..."

"No, President Jang. You won't do any harm no longer. We are here to stop you!"

Yuri uttered bravely without falter. Then, Sooyoung came beside her and spoke earnestly:

"We will unmask you, Jang. We know about your little schemes."

"Hah as if! Which schemes?" The president laughed while taunting the managers. Yuri took a step forward and started:

"First, your constant abuse of power! I worked in this agency for years and you always abused of your post! You blackmail the employees, singers and even the managers to make  whatever you want! And then, you throw them away like garbage! You are sick!"

The president rolled his eyes and raised his eyebrow, not surprised:

"Is that it? Now you are their lawyer?! Oh, please. Isn't like they will stop me anyway..."

He said into a tired tone as he waved his hand in dismiss. Sooyoung shook his head while removing some papers from his jacket and tossing on the table:

"These are your account registers of the last year. It's funny how your income increased drastically when you constantly pressed the singers to work and sell more albums, alleging that SM was passing by financial problems..."

Suddenly, Mr. Jang widened his eyes and uncrossed his arms as he yelled:

"How did you get that--?!" He refrained himself calmly as he once again smirked, feeling apathetic:

"Hmph, still you can't prove anything. I'm the SM President, of course I have a high income, plus, our artists are the best in the market, that's why I'm rich!"

As Sooyoung thought, the president was very astute and he must find a good reason to catch him. His last resource was a delicate matter to everyone in the room, the good party, of course. He looked in assurance to Yuri which nodding at him back as he started dryly:

"Jung, I'm sorry for using this subject..."

Jesse looked at him confusedly as the tall manager continued slowly:

"We know about what your son, Wooyoung... that coward almost Tiffany if we didn't find them in time a few days ago!"

All of a sudden, the room was deadly silent. It was a delicate subject after all, only to remember, Tiffany felt disgusted of the boy trying to touch her body. The situation isn't different for Jesse, who gritted his teeth, remembering the scene. If he could, he would break Wooyoung's neck due his anger because he dared to abuse of the girl he most loved. Back to Sooyoung, he was surprised that Mr. Jang remained calm and collected with the shocking news. The man should be ashamed of his son's actions, so... why was he smirking maliciously?

"Of course I know that... because I was the one who planned this after all..."

"WHAT?!"

The gang, the managers, Jesse and Tiffany gasped while widening their eyes in shock. They couldn't believe in their ears. The president walked by room nonchalantly as he added nonconformist:

"I have to do everything by myself! That boy is so useless! I have to send the message, set the meeting and I even had to tell him where he could do take her! If it wasn't me, that stupid wouldn't do anything! Such a failure!"

The red haired singer glared at him in disgust as she screamed angrily:

"You sick!"

Her reaction was the same of TTS/SJY and the managers as they stared the president furiously. But at the second that Jesse heard the confession, he felt his blood boiling into a deep anger and fury. Holding himself, he asked with teeth gritted:

"Y-you set everything t-to Wooyoung a-abuse of T-Tiffany?!

"Are you deaf?! Of course I did. Aww... Are you sad because your girlfriend was touched by my son? Hahaha as if you could do anything..."

That was it! Screaming madly and completely enraged, Jesse broke the grasp of the two bodyguards and charged himself against Mr. Jang:

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU, YOU B@STARD!!!"

For a moment, the president widened his eyes in fear when he saw the boy charging to his direction like a REAL mad bull. But before Jesse could reach him, another four bodyguards launched on him, throwing him on the floor. Not giving up, Jesse tried to set himself free from the even tighter grasp as he yelled, glaring the middle aged man:

"I SWEAR I'M GOING TO KILL YOU IF ANY ONE OF YOU LAY A FINGER ON HER!"

The gang gasped and stepped forward to help Jesse, but after Mr. Jang recovered himself from the shock, he raised his hand to the gang and warned coldly:

"If I were you, I'd stay right there. You don't want to see your friend getting hurt, right?"

"Jessie..."

Tiffany whimpered woefully while gazing the boy, the latter looked up to her as she could see all the pain within his eyes. He really cares about her, it was pretty obvious. Not just care... but love too. She wanted to move, but the grasp was so tight, she couldn't even flail at the bodyguard's arms. Meanwhile, Mr. Jang laughed wickedly since he thought he won the battle. Mocking at the gang, he taunted:

"See? Even when you don't have anything to lose, you still lose... tsk. Now, I'll call the police and you, you and you will be jailed for invading my building!"

*SIREN SOUNDS*

"Actually, I don't think it will be necessary..."

Sooyoung added with a confident smirk once he saw by the window as the police surrounded the building. The president and the bodyguards looked around in surprise and started to feel uneasy as the middle aged man groaned:

"Why did you do, Choi?!"

Suddenly, the latter's smirk widened as he removed a small camera from his jacket's pocket. Showing the object to Mr. Jang, Sooyoung smiled at Yuri who smiled as well as he continued nonchalantly:

"Honestly, I didn't do anything, sir. Thanks to this recording and your confession, all the SM's board of directors and police knows who you really are... and your crimes."
 

"W-WHAT?! Y-You couldn't--!!"

The president widened his eyes in shock and fear when he saw the police entering in the building. Quickly trying to escape, he was about to run when a voice spoke:

"Ah ah ah, you don't have anywhere to run. The police surrounded the building and the terrace as you can see..."

Yuri added confidently when choppers surrounded the area, she was right, this time, he was on a dead alley. So, enraged, Mr. Jang looked at the manager pair and yelled madly while approaching of them:

"You! I let you work on this company and this is how you repay me, Kwon Yuri!? If it wasn't me, you wouldn't be TTS's manager, you would be nothing! Just a loser and a poor scum like this Choi! You bitc---!"

Before he could even continue, an angry Sooyoung punched his face with all his strength, almost knocking him out at the same moment. Everyone gasped, mainly Yuri who looked at him admiration. Still with a hard semblance, the tall manager looked back to the tanned lady and added seriously:

"How I wanted to do that... He is no one to talk with you on that way. I wouldn't let him disrespect you, Yuri."

The latter felt her heart flutter at his sincere words, really touched with his action. Meanwhile, Mr. Jang held his jaw and blurted into a dizzy tone:

"What a punch..."

!!!

"Everyone! Raise your hands! This is the police!"

A police officer barged in the meeting room with another officers as they pointed their guns to Mr. Jang and his bodyguards. The latter wanted to run away, but the police was faster as they quickly charged against them and knocked them on the floor. Soon, they handcuffed the bodyguards (bandits), also Mr. Jang as all of a sudden, a familiar figure enters on the room:

"Woo-Joon.. I'm ashamed of having a president like you. You better rotten in jail for all your crimes. You and your disgusting son... And if you try to disrespect my daughter again, I'll do more than SooYoung did."

Those were Mr. Kwon's words as he glared at Mr. Jang in disgust. The latter gulped loudly as the police took him away. However, Mr. Kwon expression changed for a good one as he stared to the manager 'couple' before him as he spoke sincerely:

"Sooyoung, I don't have words to thank you enough for unmask that dirty man and defend my daughter's honor..."

The tall manager sighed heavily and scratched his hair in uneasiness. Then, he uttered sincerely while looking fondly at the lady beside him:

"Don't worry, sir. He must pay for his crimes... and about Yuri, sir... she deserves to be defended. The idea was hers too, you have a brilliant daughter. I would be proud of her if I were you."

Mr. Kwon smiled to a blushing Yuri and nodded his head in agreement:

"I am... thank you, by the way..."

The middle age man expression turned into a serious one as he started carefully:

"Sooyoung, I know that not so long ago... I was almost like that despicable Jang... I was blind because I was ordering my daughter around and she... is the one to live her life and make her own decisions, not me... Then, she found you, a good and honest boy... and I was against... I know I am late, but... could you forgive me... for everything?"

Sooyoung was surprised with the man's request and by the look of his eyes, he was being genuine. Seeing Yuri anxious eyes; honestly, the tall manager realized that he didn't hold any hard feelings anymore. Suddenly, Sooyoung extended his hand and Mr. Kwon was surprised with his move, but he finally smiled and held the young manager's hand, shaking into a friendly way:

"You are forgiven, Mr. Kwon. I know that deep inside, you just wanted the best for your daughter... you just exaggerated a little, but... don't worry, it's on the past now."

"Thank you. Thank you very much, Ch--- Sooyoung." Mr. Kwon sighed in relief and smiled at the young man's words. Yuri could only watch the scene in awe, it was everything she wanted since the beginning. The two men that she loved... getting along... the problem is... that she don't have another chance with Sooyoung anymore... what would she do... just to say that she loved him again? Meanwhile, she heard her name far away and realized that they were talking:

"So... SM needs prodigies like you, boy. And I believe my daughter would agree with this idea, right, Yul?"

"Huh?! Appa?" A dumbfounded Yuri blurted in surprise when she realized that her father was offering a job for Sooyoung?! This must be a dream! Now she could pass more time with her love interest and maybe she could have a chance and--- However, her expectative were washed away due the tall manager's honest answer:

"With all respect, sir. It would be an honor, but I can't accept it."

"Oh. Why?" A surprised Mr. Kwon asked as SooYoung looked caringly to Yuri and added truthfully:

"Honestly, sir... After all this mess, stress and danger... I realized that life it's too short to waste with problems like this... right now, I want to dedicate myself on my life dream."

"Really? And what would it be?" The middle aged man asked in curiosity as Yuri could only listen, although feeling heartbroken since he dismissed the chance of being with her again. This was a clear signal that he wanted to be far away from her:

"I want to have my own restaurant and be a chef! I already started everything and once its settled, both of you will be invited for the opening."

"Oh, that's great, boy! You are right, life it's too short and we must appreciate every single moment. Isn't a good news, Yul?"

Mr. Kwon added into a content tone due the tall manager attitude. However, an absentminded Yuri just looked down, afraid that her tears could fall... he will be away from her... and she didn't know how long.

"Yes, appa... Congratulations, So-- Choi-ssi. Yo-you deserve it... After all, I'm happy that you are finally chasing your true dream..."

For a moment, Sooyoung looked down sadly, unable to look into her eyes or else, he would give in and tell her the true reason. Sighing heavily he looked up to father and daughter, mainly to the latter as he spoke with all sincerity and care:

"Actually, Mr. Kwon... being Chef was my lifedream since was a  little boy... yet, I realized long time ago... that this became my second dream... I don't know if my first and most important dream will be ever fulfilled... if this ever happens someday... I'll be the most happy person of the world..."

Air was lacking in his lungs, it was too much to bear to look to Yuri without say how much he loves her... it was too painful. Swallowing his own words, he smiled dejectedly as he excused himself once he saw by the window, the press entering on the SM building:

"Now if you excuse me, we have to leave or else, the press can make a big fuss and gossip about what happened here today. Mr. Kwon, thank you for everything, please take care of your daughter... and Yuri..."

"... I - I... guess I see you around... You were great... T-Take care..."

"Huh? Y-you were brilliant too... Yeah... take care you too..."

She replied into a hesitant tone as they held a long stare, a silent and painful look that wished to say so much...but they couldn't. Finally, they broke the stare as Sooyoung realized that TTS was talking to SJY. They surely need a serious talk and clear things out, the tall manager could tell that the dandyu and the maknaes would do just fine... but he felt a deep sadness when he saw Jesse and Tiffany's dialogue. He didn't know what they were talking, but it wasn't good at all...

Meanwhile with TTS & SJYi

After the police crashed into the meeting room, the bodyguards and Mr. Jang were arrested at last. Once things were setting and the truth about their identity was revealed, a confused TaeYeon scratched his head and asked Sunny slowly:

"So... your name isn't Sunny?"

The blonde girl smiled sadly and shook her head as she explained:

"Actually... my name is Lee SunKyu... since we couldn't use our original names on SJY, I used my nickname... Sunny... or else we would lose our privacy and contract..."

"Oh..." TaeYeon uttered while letting the information penetrates in his mind, the whole thing was a mess, but he was trying to understand. Seeing no reaction on his face, Sunny knows what this meant, surely he won't agree to be her boyfriend anymore. How could he forgive after she lied about her true identity all this time. She refused to believe that this could be the end, even for a small time to know each other... Sunny genuinely loved TaeYeon. So, sighing heavily, she took a step forward as she holds herself to not cry:

"I'll understand if you don't want to see me again... W-we are leaving now..."

Before she could turn away, a hand held her wrist gently, making her turn around slowly. It was when she saw the same comforting smile that she loved, staring at her with the same loving eyes. Unconsciously, a tear rolled by her cheek as the TTS's leader wiped away caringly as he added:

"You know... Honestly, I don't care if you are Sunny, SunKyu or whatever... you will always be my cheerful Bunny. You wanted me when everyone thought I was a crazy and byun kid... I don't know how, still... you were there for me... this is more than enough."

"*sniff* Tae..." Sunny sniffed while holding her tears when TaeYeon grinned playfully as all of a sudden, his expression turned into a serious one as he cupped her cheeks and confessed solely:

"When I told you that I love you, I really mean it... my Bunny..."

"I love you too, my small byun kid leader..."

The dandyu couple smiled lovingly to each other as they gave an Eskimo kiss and embraced each other fondly, not going to anywhere.

 Meanwhile, SeoHyun watched the warm scene of the dandyu couple and smiled. All the time, she knew that TaeYeon oppa really loved Sunny, so he wouldn't care about anything as long he could stay with her. She remembers whenever he came back to their dormitory with a dreamily smile and singing the song "My Bunny Lies over the ocean" by Bugs Bunny version with his broken English. It was hilarious, but she always smiled to see that her oppa was truly happy, so she was too for him.

"Ahem... I guess it's my turn now, isn't?"

Her train of thoughts were broken when she saw Yoong staring at her with an uneasy look plastered on his whole face. He was with his hands inside his pants' pockets, hesitant. She was sure that the boy was insecure, so she decided to let him talk:

"My true name isn't Im Jin Yoong, just Im Yoong. I know its lame, but...  it's who I really am."

Staring at him intently, SeoHyun didn't say a word as Yoong sighed and removed his hands from his pockets. He gulped and continued without take his eyes from her:

"I am your fan since I can remember. When TTS had their first debut, I watched and when my eyes landed on you... I felt something growing in my heart... Afterwards, I didn't miss a show or a presentation of yours. Time passed and I realized that it wasn't just an infatuation or admiration, but something more...  I laughed at myself for being a fool for chasing a silly dream..."

Suddenly his expression turned into a serious one as he took a step closer to the maknae. The later already was feeling her heart moved by his words, yet, he carried on:

"But it never was a silly dream at all... when it comes you... each effort is worthy. That's why I trained hard to be an artist on SM along with Jesse hyung and Sunny noona, because one day... I knew I would able to meet you at last. When I finally met you... I couldn't help, but fall even more for you..."

Yoong halted when since he was feeling emotional and he didn't want to look weak in front of SeoHyun. He realized that he didn't have much time, so he caringly reached her hands and spoke with all sincerity:

"I know I was wrong to not let you know who I really was, but it was part of our contract... yet, I realize that nothing matters anymore... I just want to thank you, JuHyun... with you, I had the happiest days of my life and now, I know what love means... I won't ever forget you even if you don't forgive me... I-I'm leaving n-now..."

His heart was breaking to say these words to her, it was so hard to say goodbye. It was like a nightmare seeing the love of his life don't saying a word. Still, when Yoong was about to turn around, SeoHyun pondered all his words and all of a sudden, she extended her hand for a handshake and offered a shy smile, like the same one when they met on the first time:

"I'm Seo Ju Hyun. What is your name?"

Yoong was agape and stared at her in confusion. Yet, when he saw her kind semblance, he dumbly raised his hand and shook hers fondly. Sputtering, he spoke:

"I - I am Im Y-Yoong."

It was when she opened a wide smile and kept holding his hand as she admitted coyly:

"Its a pleasure, Yoong oppa... I'm looking forward to meet you ... again."

It clicked, when he saw her serene and comforting smile, he felt a wave of relief washing his heart away. Touched with her action, he didn't hold himself as he leaned forward and pulled her to his embrace. SeoHyun smiled happily as he let a tear roll by his cheek. Continuously, he whispered caringly into her ear:

"Thank you, JuHyun. Thank you so much..."

"Yoong oppa..."

It was her only answer as she tightened the hug around him. The scene was adorable and with that, it was two... this leads us to the fourth and last couple... where things weren't so lightly and colorful...

Meanwhile with JeTi...

After Mr. Jang and his bodyguards were being taking away by the police, the feeling inside of the meeting room was a deep relief. Tiffany was trying to conciliate everything in her mind, she still was confused, but not like before. Yet, what really intrigues her was Jesse/SooYeon's identity. When she was lost in her questions, she felt her heart double the pace when she heard the voice she loved:

"Hmm... Tiffany... can we talk?"

Hesitantly, she turned around and looked deeply into his eyes. It shows so much pain, sadness and shame, plus, her heart was torn so a black eye and some wounds on his face, thanks to the disgusting Jang and his crew. She almost reached to touch his face, yet she remained stuck on the floor and answered into a serious tone:

"Yes..."

He took a deep breath and took a step closer of her. He wanted to hold her so badly, to calm her senses after all this nightmare. He longed to kiss her ear in comfort and tell that everything it's going to be all right, yet he couldn't because she probably hates him now for hiding the truth of her all this time. Only at the thought of not touching her again, it was too much to bear, but it was his fate for not telling her everything when he got the chance. It was when he finally started:

"I don't even know where to start, but... my name is Jung SooYeon and my American name is... Jesse. Now, let me tell you a story..."

He closed his eyes briefly and remembers all his path until today:

"My life never was easy and I always knew that I have to do my best in everything, for the wellbeing of my family. I trained hard for years to become a musician on SM Agency... but I didn't had success. It was when Soo Hyung saw our hard work and gave us a chance, yet we couldn't reveal our true identity. I didn't understand at first, but then, I realized that it was a good thing because even being artists, we still could have our privacy."

Suddenly, a bittersweet smile formed on his face when he recalled the first time he saw Tiffany, well, the first time he scolded her:

"I must admit that I always was your fan, I watched every step of yours, happy with  your success. Then, I finally got the chance to see you face to face for the first time, that time I knew that you already stole my heart away. I scolded you, I tried to distance myself from you, yet you would come back ten times stronger... Honestly, I don't have any idea what you saw in me... but that it touched me deeply..."

Tiffany felt her eyes burning, she knew she would cry in the next second, so she held herself up, feeling a piercing pain in her heart in every words of him. Jesse hardened his jaw to not get overly emotional, but it was inevitable. His eyes were getting red as he continued into a broken tone:

"The first time we kissed, I - I realized that I was the happiest person in the world... You might think that I taught you something with my scolding, but... you taught me so much more. I'll be never thankful enough. And I - I know I was wrong for not telling about being SooYeon... I had so many chances to tell you, but I was a coward and I admit it. I didn't want to lose you. I was afraid that you could leave after know who I really was... A broke and common guy... but I guess it can't be helped now..."

Suddenly, Sooyoung tapped Jesse's shoulder and uttered carefully:

"Jung, sorry to interrupt you two, but the press is coming. It won't be a good idea to have you guys here. We must leave now by the back door."

Jesse looked over his shoulder and nodded mutely as he turned his face to Tiffany for the last time:

"I hope someday I can have your forgiveness..."

Feeling broken, Jesse slowly passed beside her. Tiffany felt like she was going to explode, this was so painful and for the first time, she didn't know what to do. Yet, Jesse turned around, stared at her lovingly as he confessed with all his heart:

"I just want you to know that all my feelings for you were the most sincere, pure and truthful... I never lied to you about how I felt... and this won't ever change it... G-Goodbye... Tiffany-shi..."

They held a painful and longing stare as Jesse finally left with his comrades and SooYoung. The later had a car parked behind the building, ready for their escape. SJY entered in the car in silence, yet even if the scenario was good for Sunny and Yoong, they couldn't help to feel heartbroken when they saw a shattered Jesse staring the SM building by the car's window as a lonely tear rolled by his face. His expression was lost and hurt as the car finally move and they distanced themselves from the building.

He didn't know, but as soon they left the building, Tiffany finally let all her tears drench her face as hurriedly ran to the room's window and saw a car with a familiar face... going away. Moments later, the press invaded the meeting room making countless questions as the police contains them. When Jesse left, her heart was gone with him... or it was the contrary? The two lovers heart ached with the depart. Are they going to be able to see each other again? Maybe this was a goodbye after all...
