ELEVEN - A good friend...

[NORMAL P.O.V]

A certain brunette was lying on the couch in her dormitory, holding her big Totoro plush toy while she was deeply absorbed in her thoughts. She wasn’t able to sleep on the last night; her mind was in a twirl, but the funny thing was that she wasn’t tired at all. Now, there she was staring at the ceiling and recalling the last night’s events. Inevitably, another love struck smile crept onto her cheeks as she remembered about … him… and the… kiss…

Of course, being a celebrity, Tiffany was used to acting in dramas or plays in which kissing scenes were necessary sometimes. Plus, Wooyoung wasn’t her only boyfriend; she had been in other relationships before, but… no one ever touched her heart so deeply like Jesse did. He was so genuine and tender with her at that exact moment; he wasn’t like the other bunch of guys that spoiled or flattered her all time. No, Jesse was different and now, she can’t stop thinking about him, all the more after the previous incident.

“Tiffany? Tiffany!! … TIFFANY?!”

“Ya! What?! I am not deaf, unnie!”

The black-haired girl barked as she jolted from the couch due to her manager’s yell. The latter crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at the younger girl, replying earnestly:

“Really? So would you care to explain to me how I was calling you for the last *looking at the watch* 30 seconds and yet you didn’t answer me?!”

The singer was being cornered and honestly, she didn’t want to be mocked for daydreaming about her Jesse. So, she decided to answer defensively:

“What?! I was just thinking okay?! Is that wrong?”

Noticing her sudden change of behavior, a smug smile crept onto Yuri’s face as she raised an eyebrow and asked cheekily:

“Hmmm, daydreaming I must say… Why then did you get on the defensive all of a sudden with such a simple question?”

It seems her tactic backfired on her as the brunette’s face became flustered immediately. Dipping her head down, she didn’t need to give an answer to her manager as the latter gave a knowing smile and uttered softly:

“Thinking of Jesse again?”

Shocked with her remark, Tiffany widened her eyes and asked dumbly with her eyes glimmering at her love’s name:

“H-how did you know?” Yuri simply smirked and shrugged her shoulders as she took a seat beside Tiffany. Glancing at the singer, the tanned manager asked:

“Is there anything that resulted from what we talked about yesterday?”

“Yes.” It would be the right answer. Tiffany recalled her previous conversation with Yuri and the latter was the one who gave her the advice about making Jesse jealous to prove his honest feelings for her. Yuri remembered how down the brunette was on the previous days; every night when she would return from the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ training, the more heartbroken the girl would be. Maybe it was Wooyoung’s possessive actions, but the fact remained that she was clearly jealous of Jesse and the main reason for her feeling of sadness; all the more when Hara was all over him and he didn’t seem to mind it one bit.

Seeing her suffering, Yuri could only give her a piece of advice that she knew would work since she had already done that with her past relationship with Sooyoung. Yet, because she cared about the younger girl, this was what she said:

“If you wanna prove that someone really cares about you… make them feel jealous.”

Back to the present, Yuri realized that Tiffany didn’t mention a word. Worried, she decided to push a little more as she asked sincerely:

“Tiffany?” “Hmm?” The girl replied weakly, so the manager pressed on:

“What really happened between you two after we left? And don’t lie to me, missy!”

However, the manager didn’t need to worry since Tiffany’s sudden change of expression said everything. Slowly, a loving smile and a happy sigh escaped from the singer’s lips as she spoke dreamily:

“We… we… kissed…”

“What?! Already?!” Yuri gasped with widened eyes due to the eye-smiling brunette’s affirmation. The latter nodded happily like an infatuated schoolgirl who discovered love for the first time. Once the manager recovered from her surprise, she asked slowly:

“Okay… how did this happen?”

If it was possible, Tiffany’s smile widened as the scenes of the kiss became so vivid in her mind. She even touched her lips with her fingertips, recalling how sweet, insecure and warm their kiss was. However, in realization, the ‘princess’ pouted and sighed:

“Well, I – I don’t know… it just happened… all I know is that after the fight with Wooyoung, Jesse stood up for me and protected me from that jerk. He was so caring, truthful and compassionate. While I was blaming myself for his wound, he comforted me and his eyes showed so much sincerity. When I finally realized that… I had already confessed my feelings to him and leaned in to kiss him…”

“What?! Are you that reckless, Fany?! J-Just tell me what happened afterwards…”

Yuri said tiredly as she rubbed her temples due to Tiffany’s bluntness. Nonetheless, the latter pouted even more and hugged her Totoro while uttering with a gloomy tone:

“At first, I thought that he would push me off and I was afraid of his rejection… but, he remained immobile. I don’t know if he was in shock, yet… I could feel it here…” Tiffany said vehemently as she placed her hand on her unsteady heartbeat and continued:

“He didn’t answer my kiss, but I realized that he was giving in as I could feel it in his actions. Yet, before I realized it, he suddenly stood up saying that I was confused because of Wooyoung and couldn’t take advantage on me. I don’t know what I did wrong.”

“You don’t?! Fany, firstly, you danced with Wooyoung like as if you were infatuated to him; secondly, you two fight and break up; and thirdly, you confessed to Jesse?! Of course he would be confused! Are you sure that you weren’t just thankful or affected by his attitude against Wooyoung?”

After Yuri’s outburst, Tiffany frowned and stood up in one fluid motion as she snapped back in sincerity:

“Look, I know I can be a lot of things, but I was telling the truth about my feelings for Jesse! I am in love with him and he is the most incredible person that I have ever met! So no, I am not saying this because of the spur of the moment, but… because I really love him!”

The manager was shocked with the K-pop princess’s outburst; it was the first time ever since she became their manager that Tiffany had displayed such a serious attitude. The girl before her was decisive and genuine in her feelings for the recruit. Jesse might have appeared in Tiffany’s life for only a short period of time, yet he was able to change this girl drastically for the better. Yuri was pleasantly surprised indeed as a satisfied smirk formed on her lips. However, she remembered something and frowned sadly as she gingerly pulled Tiffany back to the sofa and added truthfully:

“Listen, Fany. I already like this boy for making you open your eyes. If you have genuine feelings for him as you have already expressed, you must be truthful and prove this to him. He seems to be a good boy and I don’t want to see anyone of you getting hurt, but”

Tiffany’s expression also fell as she knew what her manager was about to say:

“In my opinion, I think you two would look great together… but you know the rules from the SM producers and directors… they are very strict about TTS dating anyone outside their company’s business sphere. They only let you date Wooyoung because… you know why… So, if you really want to fight for Jesse, you must be aware of the consequences, okay?”

The songstress looked down as she pondered her thoughts and her manager’s words. Afterwards, she couldn’t deny the erratic heartbeats in her chest anymore, or the way the butterflies insisted on fluttering in her stomach, or even the feeling of warmth like a wave caressing her body from the inside out. No, she won’t let this one slip from her hands. Shooting her head up, a determined expression took over Tiffany’s face as she spoke up firmly:

“I know. That’s why I won’t give up on him. He really means a lot to me…”

The manager smiled as if she already knew the answer. However, Tiffany stood up quickly from the couch with a happy smirk on her face and spoke rapidly:

“Thanks for the advice, Yuri-ah! You are the best! Now, I have to do something!”

Before Yuri could utter a word, the excited singer run to her room, put on a disguise and spoke while running to the door:

“I promise I’ll come back before 10 PM! Byeeeee!”

“Hey, Tiff—Aish, kids! When they are in love, nothing can stop them…”

Yuri chuckled at the brunette’s actions. At that point, she couldn’t help but let bittersweet memories invade her mind, as she recalled her own puppy love which never died. Sighing heavily, she stared at the ceiling and closed her eyes, letting a name escape from her lips:

“Sooyoung-ah… I miss you…”

[JESSE P.O.V]

There I was, leaning on the CD shop’s counter with thousand thoughts swirling in my mind. I barely got any sleep last night. I still can’t believe what happened yesterday… or rather… I couldn’t stop thinking about that kiss…

Tiffany Hwang kissed me… the most wanted girl in the whole of South Korea… kissed me…

A part of me insisted that it was because she was feeling weak and confused, still another part of me was amazed and… happy? No, no, no, I can’t let these feelings take over me! I understand her, she just broke up with that jerk and, since I was the one who stood there to protect her, it’s normal that she would feel grateful… Still, I wonder why I did that. I don’t mind if it were any the other business, but… I swear I would beat him up again if he touched Tiffany. 

“Jesse… Jesse… JESSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”

“Ya! What?! Why are you screaming?!”

I barked at Sunny since she shouted into my ear; I honestly think this girl is trying make me deaf. Anyway, I glared at her cheeky smile as I knew that something not good was about to happen. As I well imagined, she leaned on the counter and asked ‘innocently’:

“So… Jesse… you didn’t tell us what happened with Tiffany after we left…”

Busted! Damn it! My eyes automatically widened at her question and when I realized it, my face was on fire already. It was then the other prankster pointed at me and started a hearty laugh with his alligator smile:

“Omo, noona! Look at hyung’s face! Or should I say… Romeo? Hahahahaha!”

“Oh, Jesse! You are blushing! I think the night was goooooood! Hahahahahahaha!”

Sunny shrieked loudly and when I finally realized it, those dumb heads were already laughing harder at my suffering. I only gritted my teeth at them and barked coldly to hide my blush:

“Ya, shut up you two!” “See? He didn’t even correct us! So something DEFITINELY happened on that night hahahahahaha!”

Yoong said that while holding his stomach. Aish, sometimes I wonder what I have done in my past to get these two teasing, prankster friends. When their laughter had finally ceased, they wiped an imaginary tear from the corner of their eyes and stared at me intently. You know, like curious kids. Seeing that I was trapped in a dead-end alley, I sighed heavily and muttered slowly:

“We- well err… after that jerk was taken away, I tried to calm her and we talked a-and”

“Annnnnnnnnnnnnd?” Sunny pressed on with her mischievous eyes, along with Yoong. Hesitantly, I sighed and spoke inwardly:

“And… she kissed me” “What?” “She kissed me…” “WHAT?! “SHE KISSED ME OKAY?! HAPPY NOW?!”

I shouted at them in embarrassment and I was aware that my face was totally flushed right now. Unable to look at their cheeky expressions, I rolled my eyes when Yoong sputtered loudly and tapped my back hardly in excitement:

“HYUNG! YOU ARE SO LUCKY! Tiffany noona fell hard for you hahahaha! Congrats!”

“B-but how?! Jesse, you better spill everything! I want every detail!”

Sunny jumped over and her eyes shone in excitement, shoot… how these kids are curious. Once again I was trapped in a dead-end alley and my palms were clammy due to my sweat; just then, when I looked up, the clock hit 4 pm and a relieved smile crept onto my cheeks. With a confident smirk, I removed my apron and ‘gently’ kicked them out of the store:

“I’m so sorry, kids. But, as you can see, my shift has ended. See you guys later okay? Take care and bye bye!”

“Bu-t hyung—“Yoong tried to argue with Sunny, yet I had already waved at them, waiting for their departure. Once they realized that I wouldn’t say a word more, they waved stubbornly and finally left with a pout on their faces. I am sorry guys, but this subject is very confusing for me as well. I then prepared to turn off the lights when I heard the bell ringing, which means that someone else had entered the store. Damn, I forgot to put up the ‘CLOSED’ sign. I walked to the shop’s entrance and I saw a girl standing there. A frown adorned my face when I felt a sudden shiver… you know, like the ones I get when … Tiffany is close but… No no no, if can’t be her! Nervous, I spoke:

“Hmmm, miss. We are closing the shop for the day. Can I help you—“

“Hi, Sooyeon!”

Oh, God! Not now! My heartbeat doubled in pace when the girl removed her sunglasses and smiled brightly at me along with her bright eye-smile. Oh God, it’s her again! Be cool, Jesse! Be cool. She thinks you are Sooyeon, relax. I tried to look as calm as I could and forced a smile, replying:

“Oh, hi, Tiffany-shi.”

“Come on, let’s go have some coffee!” “But-“ Yet, she ignored my plead as she happily said that while pulling me out of the shop. Oh boy… this doesn’t look good…

After a double round of caramel coffee, we walked around the shopping mall talking. Honestly, she was the one who was speaking while I only listened. I could see her glowing face and felt that she was way too happy… it’s nice to see that at least she isn’t suffering on account of that jerk. I was deep in thought when I felt a gentle touch on my arm; when I looked to my right, she was holding my arm and calling me softly:

“Sooyeon? Are you listening?” “Oh, yes, I am. I’m sorry.”

I said in embarrassment while dipping my head while adjusting my glasses and she giggled due my reaction. However, she became serious and asked with a cute pout:

“Sooyeon? Can I ask you something?” Unconsciously, I felt nervous, I could feel that she was about to ask something related to ‘Jesse’. Yet, I let her continue, so I nodded and tried to look normal:

“Hmm, s-sure, what?” Damn it! I can’t even look calm! At that point, she looked down and fidgeted her fingers coyly… oh boy, why is she doing this to me? I don’t know if I can handle it anymore. She then looked up and I could swear that I saw a tint of pink in her cheeks. She took a deep breath and started:

“Hmm… Jesse… h-he talks about me? I mean… about what happened the last time we saw each other?” Oh boy, I feared getting this question; how can I say to her what she had done to me, how I could not stop thinking about the kiss we shared or how red and plump her lips look right now… Arghh, knock it off, Jesse! Remember, she is confused, yes, she must be… Anyway, I kinda squeaked at her question and she looked at me confusedly. Damn it, I am really hopeless. However, I gulped and tried to look calm, although my heart pounded loudly when I saw her so close to me:

“Y-yeah… he talks about you…” I lamely replied: “And… what did he say?”

Aish, I am in the dead-end alley again. She stared at me intently, curious about what ‘Jesse’ would think about her and… I couldn’t lie, but I must keep up my disguise. After sighing heavily, she cuts me some slack and smiled apologetically:

“I – I am sorry, Sooyeon, for bothering you with this; it’s just… I miss him a lot and I don’t know, but I keep thinking that he is avoiding me… I must be annoying him…”

Yeah! I was avoiding you because you are messing with my head! Aish… I can’t say this to her, but she looks so gloomy. Breathing heavily, I managed to smile and replied softly:

“That’s fine, Tiffany. Actually, he didn’t tell me very much, but I am sure that he doesn’t think you are annoying, maybe he just needs some time alone; he does this all the time when he is thoughtful or worried…”

“Really?” I couldn’t help but chuckle when I saw her glimmering and hopeful eyes. My hand automatically tapped her head in comfort as I added genuinely:

“Listen… all I know is that he enjoys your company and cares a lot about you. He also told me that you had some problems and were confused about what happened between you both.” “Sooyeon, I –“

“That’s okay, you don’t need to say it. Jesse respects you and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt you, much more so when you just get out of a relationship problem. I am sure that he will talk with you about it the next time. Don’t be worried anymore, okay?”

After I spoke all those words, she looked down and nodded slowly. Once she again looked up at me, I could see her megawatt smile as she placed her hands on my shoulders. My eyebrows raised in surprise when she spoke cheerfully:

“Thanks, Sooyeon. You took a heavy weight off my shoulders; I will talk with Jesse the next time.”

Even then, I felt nervous with her proximity; I chuckled nervously and nodded weakly:

“Yeah, good girl. I bet he is waiting for you hehehe…”

Her smile then widened as she nodded in excitement. All of sudden, she snapped her fingers as if she recalled something. It was then she spoke quickly:

“Oh, I almost forgot! Sooyeon, can you deliver this message to Jesse? My birthday will be in a few days and I really want him to come, together with his friends too!”

What? Birthday party? It’s been a while. But, I don’t know… me and the pranksters in a party with a bunch of snobby people. I scratched my neck uneasily and replied slowly:

“Hmm, I don’t know, Tiffany. I don’t know if Jesse will feel good in a crowded place and-“

“Ask him for me, please? I – I really want him to come…”

Oh this girl… what she is doing to me… it seems I can’t deny her request. After a heavy sigh, I gently got the invitation card out from her hand and replied with a defeated tone:

“Okay… I’ll talk to him…”

“Yaaaa! You are jjang! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

She said in excitement while she jumped around like a crazy bunny. Gosh, she looks like Sunny. However, I gulped and widened my eyes when I felt sudden warmth on my body, followed by two arms encircling me in a tight hug. My heart thumped madly and I was sure that I was flustered. Yet, she withdrew from the hug and spoke with a shy tone:

“I would like to see you at my party too, Sooyeon. Can you come?”

Oh boy, I am doomed! No, no, no, two "Jesse"s can't be at the same place at the same time! Think of an excuse and fast, Jesse! I hated to burst her bubble, but I shook my head and spoke softly:

“I would love to, but I – I have to study! Yeah! I have an exam, so I won’t be able to go. Sorry, Tiffany. Maybe the next time…”

“Oh…I see…”

Someone please punch me, but I swear I saw her all gloomy again. It was when she looked down and nodded her head dejectedly. Arghh, I am feeling awful. I didn’t want to see her down like this. I have to do something! But… what? It was then I saw my salvation in the showcase in front of me. Hurriedly, I blurted out to her whilst seating her on a stool:

“Listen, I’ll be right back! Just wait here and don’t look back okay?” “But Sooyeon-“

“Close your eyes and don’t peek! I’ll come back!”

Faster than a flying arrow, I rushed into the store to buy her a present. When I saw the product’s price… ouch, painful, but… I think she will like it. So, I paid for the present at the cashier and ran to her again. There she was seated on the stool like I said, good thing she didn’t turn back. Once I was behind her, I spoke with an amused tone:

“Okay, you can open your eyes now.” “Sooyeon, what are you—OMG! TOTORO?!”

I swear that I almost burst my eardrums when she jumped from the stool and shrieked at the plush toy in my hands. It was small and maybe insignificant since she was rich, and this present doesn’t compares about what she has. However, the corner of my lips insisted on twitching upwards when I saw her genuinely surprised smile. Gingerly, I placed the Totoro in her hands and spoke warmly:

“I can’t go, but my friend here will keep you company, okay?”

“Awww Sooyeon…” She said with an emotional tone; I think she was hoping for a better present. It’s a pity that I still haven’t gotten my pay check, but yeah… I wanted to get something for her. Uneasily, I looked down and placed my hands in my pockets in embarrassment:

“I know that you are used to receiving better presents, but I thought that this one--!!!”

The words failed to leave my mouth when I felt another pair of arms surround me. When it finally clicked, Tiffany was hugging me again, tighter than the last time. I just can’t help it, as I felt the fast pounding of my heart, like I had just run a marathon. Unable to hold myself back, I smiled genuinely when I heard her words:

“Thanks, Sooyeon. It is one of the best presents I have ever received.”

“Ahhh, it was nothing.” I replied coyly while scratching my cheek; I even coughed nervously, but I guess the blush on my cheeks was really evident. However, I was relieved to see her flustered face as well, hehe. All of sudden, we found ourselves staring at each other meaningfully and the memories exploded in my mind. Her confession, her hug, her kiss… my eyes stubbornly locked on her lips and my mind spoke:

“If we kiss now… will it be as good as the first time?”

Oh God! What am I thinking?! My thoughts were like a whirlwind when I finally felt something soft and warm on my left cheek. When I finally realized it, Tiffany was looking down while swaying herself forwards and backwards like a shy kid with a red face. It was then it hit me… She kissed my cheek?! Wow… I can’t believe it! My heart is bursting… yet, I wanted to keep my cool. I tried to speak, but the words failed to leave my lips. It was then that she spoke softly:

“You really are a good friend, Sooyeon. Even though we had only met for a short time, I can still see that. Thank you for being here.”

I was afraid that I would start stammering, so I replied with a sincere smile, touched by her actions. She was about to say more, but then her phone buzzed, so I presumed she had received a message. Tiffany looked at her phone and sighed with a pout. With a sheepish smile, she uttered gloomily:

“It is Yuri unnie. I must go back to the dormitory now. Hmm… I – I … had fun today, Sooyeon.” I replied with a nod and a smirk:

“Yeah, me too.” She looked at her Totoro plush and another beautiful smile crept onto her face as she turned her head towards me:

“I really like your present, thank you once again… Well, I have to go… We will see each other soon, okay?”

“Sure.” I waved at her as she hesitantly walked away. Suddenly, she turned around and spoke shyly again:

“Oh and Sooyeon?” “Yes?” “Please, tell Jesse… that I really miss him.”

“I – I … I will, Tiffany. Take care.”

“Bye, Sooyeon” “Bye, Tiffany.”

We waved for each other and she finally left. It was then I realized that a stubborn smile was stuck on my face, I’ve got all those jittery feelings inside my body and my heart couldn’t stop pounding like crazy. When she said that she missed me, I knew she meant it. I believe I am smiling like a goof now, but I can’t help it… I am feeling… happy. Tiffany Hwang, what are you doing to me? It’s getting hard… I don’t know what to do anymore.

[NO ONE P.O.V]

Meanwhile with the danshin couple…

Laughter echoed all along the long aisle in the night. A blonde-haired pair walked to the girl’s dormitory door while the boy spoke with an amazed tone:

“Omo, Sunny-ah! I didn’t know that you could pitch like that! It was awesome!”

The girl a.k.a Sunny blushed at his compliment and couldn’t help, but smile gently:

“Ah, I always liked baseball, since I was kid. I guess this helped, it’s no big deal actually.”

However, the boy shook his head vehemently as he added seriously:

“Nah ah ah, missy. I think you did great, plus… maybe I should tell Pany-ah to get some advice from you, hahahaha…”

“That was a cheap trick, Taengoo, but… I guess Jesse will need some help too! Hahahahahaha!”

Sunny replied while laughing loudly at Taeyeon’s remark. It seems that both of them enjoyed making fun of their comrades. The ‘couple’ was standing at the dormitory door at this exact moment as their laughter subsided slowly. Once they looked at each other, the cheerful girl asked sincerely:

“Hey, Tae… how is Tiffany? Is she all right? I mean… after the incident and everything…”

The blonde boy looked up and sighed deeply. After pondering his thoughts carefully, he glanced at the girl beside him and added solemnly:

“Honestly… I’ve never see her happier… it seems that Jeshe really changed her… I mean, I thought that she would go back to that jerk again, but I am happy that Jeshe appeared and protected her in the end.”

Sunny nodded with a relieved smile while uttering honestly:

“Yeah, Jesse might look cold on the outside, but he is the direct opposite. In fact, I can see that he really cares about Tiffany too.”

Taeyeon smiled knowingly at her answer and nodded his head, knowing that she was speaking the truth. Yet, both blondes were now in front of the door, looking down, not knowing what to say; perhaps shyness was getting the better of them. In order to break the ice, Sunny looked up and spoke cheerfully with a lovely smile:

“I really had fun today, Tae. Thank you for the wonderful date.”

The blonde girl said that with her aegyo while waiting for some sort of ‘reaction’ from the blonde boy as she swayed and rocked herself backwards and forwards cutely. Yet, it seems that the guy was too shy to make a move; don’t get it wrong, usually, Taeyeon was the kind of person to go straight to the point, but he couldn’t help feeling shy around his… crush. Looking down in embarrassment, he stuttered while starting to walk away:

“Y-Yeah, me t-too, S-Sunny. W-well, I – I have to go. G-good night.”  

“Oh… g-good night to you too… Tae…”

Sunny was unable to hide the disappointment in her voice when she saw Taeyeon walking away. She sighed heavily and hooked her fingers around the keys inside her pocket to open the door. One sad thought crossed her mind at this moment:

“What were you thinking, Sunny? That he would kiss you? Snap out of it! He is the most cute and wanted guy in the South Korea… why would he want to date me? I – I am just his friend… a-and nothing more…”

Those words in her heart like a sharp knife; still she was trying hard to keep her hopes high for this boy, and that he was more than just being nice to her. Meanwhile, Sunny wouldn’t ever imagine that Taeyeon was actually deliberately walking away slowly, hesitant to leave her. The truth was that his mind was troubling him deeply. He was in a deadlock; part of him was telling him to walk away due his fear of rejection, yet another part of him was screaming for him to go back and make his move, to prove to this girl how much he cares about her… or how he fell head over heels for this cheerful and aegyo girl.

Looking up, Taeyeon put his mind in order and realized that the voice of his heart would always be the loudest one, even more so when it comes Sunny. Slowly, a smile crept onto his lips as he made his decision; spinning around swiftly, he called her almost with a desperate tone:

“Sunny, wait!” The blonde and gloomy girl turned around in surprise at his sudden call. However, she found her heartbeat doubling in pace with every step that he took to close with her. Soon, Taeyeon flashed his cheeky smile and said:

“Sunny…” “Y-Yes?” She replied while nodding expectantly, more than ready and anxiously waiting for his next sentence. She also took a step closer to him and he did the same thing. Still smiling, he then pointed to her cheek and added playfully:

“You have something on your cheek.”

Surprised and embarrassed, Sunny quickly widened her eyes and brushed her left cheek rapidly; fearing that she would look like an idiot in front of him. So, she asked carefully, while staring at him worriedly, almost frenetically:

“What?! Where?!” 

“This.”

As soon as Taeyeon replied, not wasting any time, his smug smirk widened as he leaned, cupped her right cheek and finally pressed his lips on her left cheek caringly. At this moment, Sunny’s eyes almost popped out of its sockets when she felt his lips kissing her chubby cheek so tenderly. If he wasn’t holding her, she would simply fly away or melt in a moment. The words got stuck in and the warm feeling inside her body was simply marvelous.

What felt like hours were just mere seconds as Taeyeon suddenly realized his actions and pulled back quickly in fear. With widened eyes and a flustered face, the blonde boy blurted out in his mind nervously once he saw Sunny’s shocked expression:

“Oh my God, what did I do? Now she will think that I am a shameless byun! Oh dear…”

He didn’t know it, but his simple action made a huge commotion in her body. Her heart pounded madly, her cheeks got flushed into a blazing red colour and she couldn’t believe that this was the reality. She was being kissed by Kim Taeyeon! Yet, he laughed nervously and raised his hand for clemency, sputtering out the words clumsily:

“I – I am so-so sorry, Sunny. I know that I was too bold, but I – I couldn’t help it! You are so amazing and I can’t resist you. I must confess t-that I – I fell –“

All of sudden, the surprised girl recovered from her spazzing mode as she blinked a few times. Taeyeon took her silence as a sign of a possible rejection, yet all his doubts were quickly solved when the girl pushed him against the door abruptly as a mischievous smile crept into her ‘angelic’ face:

“That wasn’t bold… This IS what it means to be BOLD.”

Before Taeyeon could even reply, his mouth was muffled by a pair of plump and warm lips. He rolled his eyes up and fluttered them closed dumbly, letting the moment flow. Oh, how he loved this, this was infinity many times better than he had imagined. The way she grasped his collar and pinned him to the wall was so y and bossy. How could this girl look all cute and aggressive at the same moment? Well, he surely loves it!

The stunned blonde guy shivered when Sunny nibbled his lower lip teasingly and added some pressure on his upper lip. If it was possible, his heart would have burst out of his chest. However, to his unhappiness, the kiss ended as quickly as when it started. Taeyeon fluttered his eyelids open drowsily and was welcomed by the sight of a smiling and blushing Sunny. The latter was looking down in embarrassment due to her boldness; yet she wasn’t regretful of her action.

Slowly, a goofy smile crept onto his lips as he stared at her lovingly. Groggily, he asked with a dreamy tone:

“C-can we have a retake? I was kinda hmm—“

His words were muffled again as Sunny kissed him more endearingly this time. He could feel his blood rushing into his head and he was sure that his ears were red due the heat. But this time, he returned the kiss as he wrapped his arms around her caringly. Chuckles and smiles were exchanged between the kisses and the couple was on cloud nine. Once air was necessary, they parted hesitantly with their foreheads touching each other. The moment was perfect until their phones started buzzing like mad; probably it was their worried managers. They didn’t even look away and with a wide smile, Taeyeon added breathlessly:

“I have to go, but I really don’t want to.”

Giggling at his hopeless expression, Sunny wrapped her arms around his shoulders and whispered against his lips:

“I didn’t want to let you go either, but… at least… I know our feelings are mutual.”

Unable to hide his cheeky smile, Taeyeon gave her an Eskimo kiss and replied honestly:

“I was hopelessly in love with you since the beginning… but I guess I was afraid that you would reject me. I mean… only a crazy person would like a weird and kid-byun person like me.” Sunny couldn’t help, but laugh at his own comment. She shook her head with a sly smile and added while pinching his cheeks caringly:

“I think I fell hard for this crazy, cute and byun guy, so this makes me crazier than you. In fact, this way is better; at least… you are mine and only mine.”

With that, the danshin couple exchanged some lovingly stares and a last tender kiss as they finally and reluctantly left for their respective dormitories. Even with the distance, they couldn’t help but sigh with contentment while recalling the lovely flashback. Yes, this is indeed the start of a new relationship for them.
