Forgive and Forget
Changed By YouThey just passed by each other these past weeks. Upon noticing Henry’s presence, Amber suddenly avoids him. She does not even know why she did that. All she knows that she does not know what to say to him.
As he searched for her, all she did was hide from him. In the end, all that Henry could do is just look at her from a far, as she passed by.
Until one day, he could take it anymore. He saw her down the hall. It was just the two of them.
“Sorry, Amber.” he pleaded as he looked at straight in the eye.
Amber ignored his gaze, as she walks away from him again.
Henry continues to plead, still standing there, frozen. “Please… Amber, I don’t even know what I did wrong, but I am sorry Amber.”
Amber stops at her feet, her back facing him, as she tries to hold back her tears from falling.
“Please talk to me again. Stop ignoring me. Whatever I did wrong, I am sorry.” He said repeatedly as he turned around to face her once more.
As the tears fell, she continues to walk away.
She did not see Henry’s tears falling. “I miss you Amber.” He shouted to her and decided to run after her.
“How I wish I could tell you how I much I love you, I am sorry, Henry, but I can’t be your best friend anymore.” She keeps telling herself, as she left him there.
She stopped at her feet. She decided to go back when all of a sudden when she turned around she felt a somewhat familiar embrace, hugging her tight. “I love you, Amber. I know I am your best friend but I can’t hide it from you anymore.”
She hugged him back. “I love you too, Henry.”

She remembered that day like it was yesterday. She kept running it in her head over and over again.
“Now, we are back to square one or even worse, because now, we can’t even go back to being best friends again. How could you do this to me?” She said to herself. “I am avoiding you again.” She continued, staring blankly at the sky.
Henry approached Amber, caught her off guard. “I am sorry, Amber. I know what I did is wrong.”
She just walked away again. Henry caught her by the wrist and pleaded again. “Could you forgive me?”
She tried to pull her wrist from his grip. “Let us talk this through. Hear me out. Please don’t walk away again.” Henry begged.
“All I could is run away from you; avoid you, for me to forget what you did because every time that I look at you, I remember everything about us. I could forgive you, Henry, but not today, not now. Maybe one day, I might forgive you. Maybe one day, I will forgive you. I will forget what you did to me, to us. Someday Henry, someday.” she argued as her tear started to fall.
She didn’t usually let anybody see her cry, but Henry wasn’t anybody; he was not just somebody, he was Henry, her best friend, the man she loves, the man that she thought would never make her cry like this.
All Henry could do was look at Amber as cried her heart out because of him, as she turned her back at him.
“I hope that day would come soon that you will forget what I did. And forgive me. But when that day comes, I wish you won’t forget about me too.”
