TOKYO DOME REHEARSALS DAY 2
“B.I and Jennie, you can stand beside each other now,” the performance director instructed with his megaphone, “You need to be up on that platform over there,” he pointed to a shiny structure behind them.
Jennie started walking slowly towards it.
Hanbin observed her worriedly.
Was she seriously trying to hide her injured ankle? He thought.
“B.I why aren’t you moving?!”
Hanbin looked up from his trance. Realizing he spaced out, he scuttled towards Jennie, closing in the gap between them.
When he found his way beside her, he couldn’t resist staring at her foot. He wanted to ask if she was okay but it would surely come off strange.
He sighed in frustration.
“Up the platform please,” the performance director said again.
The steps to go up the platform were pretty high.
How could she climb up that thing in her state?
Jennie nudged him, “You first,”
He looked at her blankly.
“Hello?” Jennie snapped her fingers in his face, “Anyone there?”
He cleared his throat, “No, you go first. I’ll help you up.”
Jennie looked at him incredulously.
Did I hear him right?
“I can manage,” she said.
“I doubt it,” he answered back.
“I’m perfectly fine, Hanbin,” she sounded annoyed.
“No, you’re not,” he argued.
“I said I can manage!” Jennie stomped her injured foot in frustration and ended up wincing in pain.
“You’re such a brat! You don’t want them knowing you hurt that, right? If you don’t want me telling everyone - ”
Jennie’s eyes widened in disbelief, “Are you seriously going to blackmail me just to win this argument?”
“I could tell them right now,” Hanbin pointed nonchalantly towards the crowd, “Your choice,”
“Hey what are you two bickering about??” the performance director screamed, ”How many times do I have to repeat myself?? Up that platform, now!!”
Jennie turned to him, “Look, I don’t need your help – Ya!!!!!”
Hanbin suddenly lifted her up the platform.
She turned silent in shock.
And so did everybody else.
Bobby squealed in horror, “D-did.. did that just happen???”
No one answered.
Jennie, still in Hanbin’s arms, blushed in embarrassment, “Hanbin,” she whispered shyly, “P-please put me down,”
Hanbin obeyed and put her back down on her feet like it wasn’t the most unusual thing.
“Did you really need to do that??” Jennie brushed imaginary dust off of her sweatpants, unable to make eye contact.
Hanbin, however, was looking at her intently, “If you weren’t so stubborn, I wouldn’t have had to,”
Then he turned around, “We’re ready!”
