Foreword
Platform 9 ¾? I asked myself while looking at my ticket, trying to read every single word on it incase it indicated where location of the station is. Is there even such thing?
I finally gave up searching for any information on my ticket and looked at the girl who came up to me. “Hello, are you looking for platform 9 and ¾ as well?” She smiled at me, trying to be friendly. It looked like was stuffed with marshmallows. Her cheeks just puffed up when she smiled. I found it very cute.
“Uh, yes,” I replied.
“I’m looking for it, too.” She smiled. “Is it your first year?”
She had her jet black hair in a ponytail. Her baby bangs fell in curls on her forehead. She was wearing a black skinny jeans and a plaid shirt. Behind her was her trolley, she had 5 suitcases which is a lot, I think, compared to my one and only suitcase. On top of those was a cage with a cute hamster in it. It looked just like her.
“Yeah. You?”
“Yup!” Her excited expression suddenly fell. She looked at down and frowned. “I think we should go together since I don’t know anyone yet.” She suggested cutely. Very cutely. It looked so natural on her that she didn’t even need to try. God, if that were me, I would puke at my own self. Just the thought of it makes me dizzy.
I could not resist her charms so I just agreed. “Well then I guess we should.”
“I’m Cheon Jane, by the way! And this is my hamster, Mini.” She said as she took her hamster and its head.
“I’m Yuna. Kim Yuna.”
Platform 9 and ¾ this way please! I heard a woman’s voice from a distance.
“Oh, hey! There it is!” I pointed towards the direction where I heard the woman’s voice.
We pushed our trolley towards the platform. We saw those students pass through the wall. Both of us blinked around a hundred times just to make sure it was for real.
“That’s…that’s….” She stuttered, still in shock. It was so surreal. I had to pinch my arm just to confirm that it is legit. None of us moved our feet. It was obvious that were both nervous and scared. So I just took the courage.
“Do you want to pass together?” I offered. “Here hold my hand.”
And in just a few seconds, the worry on her face was gone. It was replaced by her bright smile. She finally took my hand and her smile got even bigger. I felt comfort just seeing her smile. It was weird feeling this. But weird is good, I reminded myself.
