There is a popular saying or maxim, often thrown around in speeches or conversations, that it is not until you are in the lowest depths of despair that you discover who your true friends are. A poetic sentiment, but nonetheless very true.

So it was like this, lying face up in a hospital bed, machines beeping either side of him, that Hee-chul realised he had no true friends.

Chapter 3: another awesome story! and another time i'm late even though i was determined to not be late.....T^T
anyway....this is just so touching!!! either i almost cried or really cried during all those bastards part. it was just beautiful. well, everything is. and i love that the transition of Kim HeeChul's characteristics in the three chapters are really clear cut, all while maintaining his personality/sass. idk how you did that, but you did. i didn't feel bad that much for him in chapter 1....seeing how people treat him because of how he treated people when he was fine,but in chapter 2, he became pathetic n learnt the other side of the world he never knew/cared, and by chapter 3...he became a dignified human being that was so wonderful without losing his character. so much that it made his former friends look horrible compared to him, when he used to be the same. i don't know what to say about Han Geng but he definitely is the gift of Kim Heechul's life.n his speech at the end, eventhough Heechul's respond was nonchalant true to his personality, but i definitely can see all the great things he gained, especially the humanity, humility n friendship. the humanity theme is very striking n i just love it. Thanks for sharing the awesome story n ...sorry for spazzing too much ><
