The Mobile Suit War
Description
It's the year 2312, and the world is on the verge of war yet again. At the center of it all is EXO, an elite team of mobile suit pilots that works under the SM regiment of the United Nations Peacekeeping Corps.
Foreword
So EXO has been giving me too many feels and not enough comebacks lately, so I spent the past few days plotting a make-believe war that EXO will fight in. This is mainly so a) I can try to fatten up Sehun b) we can all picture Kai in a flight suit c) Baekyeol can have some fun with a beam cannon.
I'm not sure the response this story will receive since it's not primarily a romance, i.e. the main plot will not concern the development or falling apart of a romantic relationship. On the bright side, I'm horrible at hiding my ships, and some might make an appearance (:D). I'm also not sure how this whole website works, but I'll give it a try because I've always wanted to post some fanfiction.
Sooooo...I'm going to post the first chapter and see what happens (I haven't written anything past that).
P.S. I was thinking about having other idol groups make cameo appearances since they're worked into the world anyway.
EDIT 12/5/12
I'm going to outline the way I've translated kpop groups into mobile suit teams in this story. If you want an idol group to make a cameo/have a permanent role in the story, comment on the story with the group and a suggestion for their role in the story. I'll try my best to incorporate them into the story, granted I know the members relatively well. Please keep in mind the conventions I use.
UNPC --> kpop as a genre (encompasses all artists and companies)
an entertainment company --> a regiment in the UNPC (SM Entertainment becomes the SM regiment)
girl group/boy band --> a team in a specific regiment (EXO becomes EXO, a mobile suit team in the SM regiment)
rapper --> shooting/long-distance mech
singer --> melee/short-distance mech
dancer --> heavy-duty/big guns/defensive mech
Of course if an idol is more than one of the above, their mech is specialized in more than one area.
Korean comeback --> mech upgrade (new weapons, design, etc.)
single album --> medium upgrade (a few new things)
mini-album/EP --> big upgrade (lots of new things)
studio album --> completely new mech (new name; they literally toss the old one and make a new one from scratch)
repackage --> medium upgrade (a few new things)
digital single --> small upgrade (one or two new things)
Japanese comeback --> medium upgrade (a few new things)
solo debut/comeback --> only that member's mech is upgraded depending on the type of album released (Sunggyu's Another Me, which is an EP, would get a big upgrade)
collaboration --> the mechs involved are upgraded again depending on the type of album released
For solo or collaborations, those members would "train" separately, but still work as part of the larger group.
* If you don't understand any of these terms, look at any mecha anime. I recommend the Gundam franchise or Code Geass because they were most influential for this story.
