Chapter Seven
Between Betrayal and LustIt was midnight. A full moon. Hae was sitting beside the lake. His back on the grass, his feet in the water and his head on Kyu's lap. Kyu was sleeping against a tree. Hae was staring at the stars.
'We can't seperate them.' Sungmin said. He was looking down on the two boys through the window of Hyuk's study.
'Never took you for a sentimental fool, Min.'
'Hyuk, give them a shot.'
Hyuk sighed. 'It's true that Donghae won't cooperate unless he's sure his friend is safe. Other families will figure that out as well and use it against us, so yes, we'll keep them together.'
Amber hugged Hyuk. He softly patted her head.
'Oh look!' Taemin exclaimed. They all went to the windows.
'Daebak!' Onew shouted.
Hae was making several water orbs and they were floating all around him.
'Soon he'll need to feed though.' Sunny said softly.
'Who'll explain that to him?' Sungmin sighed.
They all looked at Hyuk.
'Oh come on guys.'
'Hyuk, he even lost blood to that Choi guy, you are the leader, explain it to him.'
'I'll go get him for you, hyung.' Taemin said and flew out the window. He airsurfed down.
Hae got startled and the dozen of water orbs would have hit the kid if he hadn't had excellent reflexes. Only two hit him. He shook off the water, recuperating from the blow.
'S-sorry, Taemin.' Hae stuttered.
'That is okay, I should have announced myself properly.'
Hae relaxed and lowered the water shield he had coated Kyu with.
'Hyukjae needs to talk with you.'
'Ah okay, will you look after Kyu for me?'
'I'll lift him inside.' Taemin said and made the sleeping boy float.
Hae knocked on the door of Hyuk's study.
'Enter.' The deep voice of Hyuk sounded.
'You called for me.' Hae bowed.
'Stop doing that.' Hyuk frowned.
Hae looked up confused.
'Sit down.'
Hae obeyed.
'We decided that Kyu can stay with you.'
Hae smiled widely.
Hyuk had to blink at the brightness.
'Thanks!'
'There is another matter that you need to know.' Hyuk continued. 'Aren't you hungry?'
'I had dinner, like all of you.' Hae said.
'I mean a different kind of hunger.'
Hae was moving restlessly on his chair.
'So you have felt it.' Hyuk got up and walked towards Hae.
'I don't want to.'
'You don't want what?'
'To .'
Hyuk lifted an eyebrow, amused. Their eyes met.
Hae started blushing, Hyuk chuckled.
'Blood, to blood!'
'Hey, I didn't think anything else.' Hyuk held his hands upwards in his defence.
'Is there another way?' Hae asked sadly.
The smile disappeared from Hyuk's face. He shook his head.
Hae sighed. 'Oh well, then I'll just die.' He got up and was about to get out of the room.
Hyuk grabbed his arm and pulled him back. 'What?'
'I'm not killing people for food.' Hae said.
'You will learn how to the right amount, so they don't die.' Hyuk said softly.
'Nope.'
'Donghae, seriously you need to feed.'
'Not going to happen.'
'God you are so damn stubborn!' Hyuk screamed.
Hae stood there with his arms crossed and his face turned away from his leader.
Hyuk felt the fire within him ignite. He was about to explode when he noticed the younger was trembling.
'Donghae...'
'I can't, don't ask it again.'
'There is another way...' Hyuk said reluctantly.
'How? You just said there wasn't.'
'You can drink my blood.'
