Thirty-Three
HerJESSICA's POV
As I watch the movie, I can't help but hit Yuri's arm out of excitement. It seems like the characters are about to confess they have feelings for each other.
While at it, it caught me off guard to find Taeyeon already looking at me with doe eyes when I set my gaze on her. She then gave me a small smile that had my heart skip a beat. At that exact moment, I don't know what goes on in her head.
"Come on, just tell her you like her." Tiffany says, eyes fixed on the screen. Although I wanted to, I couldn't find myself to return the smile so I averted my gaze from Taeyeon and back on the screen instead before Tiffany could notice us.
What are you doing, Kim Taeyeon? Why are you looking at me like that?
Thankfully, it didn't take long for her to do the same thing. I took one last glance on her again and caught a glimpse of their interlocked fingers. I suddenly couldn't focus on the movie anymore for I also lost track of what had happened.
"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."
"Do you want me to come with you?" Yuri asked.
"No, it's okay." I brought my bag with me and excused myself, feeling their eyes on me as I go.
All I can think about now is her smile.
Once I reached the restroom, I immediately brought out my makeup kit to retouch. Good thing I'm alone and I can be free for the mean time. As I apply mascara, footsteps can be heard from outside. I didn't pay it no mind since I'm busy doing my own thing when I heard the restroom door pushed open.
"Hey." the familiar soft voice made me look in an instant.
"Hi." I greeted back, still holding my mascara.
"Uhh...I need to..." she awkwardly pointed to the cubicle.
"Okay." I slightly nodded my head.
The quiet atmosphere surrounded the room as we do our own thing. It's not like I have something to say nor she has something to say. She quickly finished up and wash her hands before getting a tissue to dry them while I'm still putting on lipstick.
I thought she was gonna say bye or something but she stood not so far from me instead.
"Why are you still here?" I asked, confused as to why she was standing there.
She her dry lips and put her hands in her pockets. "I'm gonna wait for you."
I processed what she said for a while because I don't remember asking anyone to accompany me. "No, it's okay. You can go."
She shook her head and waved a hand on me, raising her voice a bit. "No, it's okay. I'll wait."
"Taeyeon." I calmly called her name out making her look at me in the eyes. "Go now."
She blinked her eyes and responded with an "Okay." I'm glad she understood why I didn't want her to wait for me so she slowly went out.
I don't want Tiffany to speculate something just because Taeyeon and I went here at the same time. I'm trying to avoid any drama as long as I can.
I let out a heavy sigh after hearing the restroom door closed. So little time yet it felt suffocating. I continued to reapply my lipstick and take a look at myself in the mirror afterwards.
