Doyeon didn't try to talk to me again after that exchange. I guess gusto na n'ya mag-focus sa pagsasayaw talaga.

Paalis na kami ni Concon, pupuntahan naman Dad n'ya sa office. Hindi ko pa rin kilala kung sino papa n'ya o kung ano ang trabaho nito, siguro malalaman ko mamaya.

Nakasakay na kami ng taxi. Tahimik lang kami at ugong lang ng makina ang maririnig. Naramdaman ko bigla ang init ng kamay n'ya na malapit sa kamay ko. I briefly looked down to look at her hand. Nakatingin pa rin s'ya sa bintana. Hindi na ako nagdalawang-isip pa at hinawakan s'ya sa kamay. I felt her hand tighten when our fingers intertwined.

Winter and Karina arrived at SM Corp. around 6:30 PM.

"Dito nagtratrabaho Dad mo? Wow." Winter asked as soon as they got out of the taxi. A 100-storey building with only a few numbers lit up. It was the company's anniversary, and the party was held in a private resort. Only a few employees who didn't want to attend stayed in the building to work.

"He's on the 90th floor, but it won't take long." They went in the elevator; the floor was made out of glass, the doors have a mirror-like finish, and Winter couldn't look down anymore as they ascended. She tried to look again and felt amazed when she realized that the bushes outside were cut to spell 'SM CORP.'

"Anong work ng Dad mo?" She couldn't help her curiosity; seeing how luxurious Karina's former house was—the interior was mostly a combination of white and gold, she could imagine the furniture of the house even if the only thing left there was the sofa they sat on.

Her father's workplace is one of the tallest buildings around the area which made Winter wonder how rich they actually are.

"He didn't really tell me, but I guess he's one of the higher ups. He doesn't want to talk about work since ang stressful daw. Ayaw n'yang dinadala ang work sa bahay kahit na when he's home, he's still on the computer checking files and stuff." The short-haired nodded, watching the numbers change as the elevator goes through every floor. She was starting to enjoy the jazzy elevator music when it finally stopped. They've reached their destination in under 1 minute. It was quiet; their steps echoed on the almost empty floor. There were no employees aside from Karina's father.
