In the middle of the night, Sakura stirs from her sleep as she was enveloped by a familiar arm and a warm kiss on the side of her face. She is satisfied, that is before she came into her senses.

She backs away from the touch, moving herself until she is at the edge of her side of the bed. She’s angry and she doesn’t want to deal with it at the moment.

“Hon, I’m sorry.” She hears from behind.

She expected it – those exact same words from the same mouth of her long-time partner who will soon be her lifetime partner.

Eunbi still hugs her, knowing Sakura that much; she knows the latter wants to be pampered. But she thought wrong, not this time.

“Not now please. I’m too tired to deal with you.”

Eunbi always comes home late, to the point of them not seeing each other as Sakura was asleep by the time she gets home. Sakura has always been understanding until it got too much for her to take. She doesn’t even remember the last time they had a time to properly look at each other in the eyes and just seize the moment of being together, even just quietly.

All she remembers is the ache of her heart whenever she feels her stomach grumble waiting at the dining table alone to eat and sleeping on a cold, empty bed.

Moist pavement...

Green, healthy grass...

Tiny, tinier, tinies-

Sakura broke out of her blankness and stopped her thoughtless steps with the help of the hands that suddenly squeezed her arms. She looked up startled to see her student looking at her with worry in her eyes.

“Miss, are you okay? I’ve called you when I was a few steps in front of you but you didn’t stop.”

“Oh, I was, uh, walking to the tent?” She said unsurely.

Yunjin gives her a soft smile. “It’s done and it’s that way.” She says, pointing behind her professor. “You already passed it, Miss.”

Sakura blushes, embarrassed to be caught vulnerable by her student. She looks at the lone tent in that area and furrows her forehead in confusion. “Only one?”

“Yes, we’re still sharing. You didn’t listen earlier, didn’t you?”

Sakura looks down in further embarrassment. “I-I had a lot in my mind... Sorry.”

On the other hand, Yunjin’s eyes widened seeing her fierce professor so shy and... it’s so unlike her. “Uhm, you didn’t have to say sorry. I was just kidding. Now let me help you with your things.” She hurriedly took Sakura’s gym bag and places it inside the tent while Sakura watches in astonishment, suddenly reminded of a memory between her and her student trainee.

Sakura woke up by the buzz of her phone – she put her alarm on vibrate because even the slight buzz is enough to wake her up.

Just like any other day of the camp, she feels an arm around her. It was different this time though, Sakura has an arm around Yunjin’s shoulder, reciprocating the intimate embrace. She blushed, embarrassed in her wake.

Sakura always does this. But with her fiancée.

She absentmindedly stares at Yunjin’s face, calm and her sharp features illuminated by the night sky. She resembles a statue in Sakura’s mind and she weirdly finds it beautiful, making shake her head in aghast.

She thought Yunjin feels like a “boyfriend” – masculine and safe. She felt the comfort and she wondered if her student is aware of what’s been happening in their sleep.

Truth is, Sakura also doesn’t know why they end up like that every morning.

Yunjin’s POV

Outside the tent, I watch the stars in the dark sky – I feel satisfied. I have always liked the stars, as cliché as that sounds. And I don’t even have the reason to like them. It feels like a nature to me, like being in a place surrounded by trees and grasses. This time, I only have the time to appreciate it at night.

The night is quiet as everyone already settled in their tents and I’m all alone, wondering. Just the thought of sleeping beside my professor is enough to make me anxious.

I don’t have a crush on her. I don’t, okay?

Sigh.

Every time a business trip ends, Chaewon would ask me about it, about her. What am I supposed to tell her? That she’s pretty and almost perfect? Of course not!

I can’t tell them those things because it is SO inappropriate.

I didn’t even know when I started accepting these weird feelings for her. I just find myself nodding yes, she’s attractive and I never find other woman like her.

I could honestly write a book about my professor and it’s crazy.

I could stare at her big eyes forever. And when her eyes are close, my eyes automatically lands on her nose mole. Even that, I find it y.

That one night she was having nightmares, again. She pecked my collarbone unconsciously. She was whispering things I could not fathom. But she’s calling her name. It made me wonder what could cause such bad dreams. Is her fiancée hurting her? Does she miss her that much to the point of dreaming about her every night? If yes, I’m envious.

The way she clung to me, I know she’s desperate for a touch. Does she not give her those simple gestures of love? Are they not okay?

So much to think of, but none of it is my business neither do I have the right to meddle.

I wish living is as easy a staring at the stars.

“Yunjin-ah?”

There she is, head peeking out the tent, looking adorable as hell with her fluffy jacket on. She looks really sleepy.

“What is it, Miss?”

“Nothing, just wondering where you were. I’ll go to sleep now. You should get inside too, it’s getting really cold.” She said sweetly.

Just like that, she gives me another thing to remember for the rest of the night. I guess I’ll say good bye to a long sleep.

Sakura’s POV

I feel the familiar heat against my skin and that alone brings a smile to my lips. I missed this feeling.

“I love you.” She mumbled against my shoulder.

“I love you too.” I replied, my heart fluttering.

My fiancée and I haven’t had some time to have some sweet time, and now we just did. I came home tired from work, not expecting anything at all but she proved me wrong. Eunbi surprised me with a nice and romantic dinner and after that we made love on the bed that used to be so cold.

“Thank you, hon. I really missed you.”

She smiles and God, I’m so lucky. She’s so attractive and she’s mine. “I missed you too, Hon.”
