Much to many people's shock NETFLIX has announced it will be airing a Kpop survival show that appears to have similarities to the infamous MNET produce series. This will be the first major kpop survival show since the mass rigging scandal blew up. It will also be one of Netflix's first shows to air once a week, as well as have a voting format. Many fans are confused and excited.
The show has already revealed its A-list cast of mentors, like Hyuna and Donghyun. What most netizens seem to be confused by is that the rumoured brains behind the show rookie journalist Kwon Woojin, will also be an MC causing confusion due to him having no previous experience in that kind of role. Some of his old opinion pieces have already been dug up that express his hatred for the K-pop industry.
The show's description claims to not be just a survival show, but also somewhat of an investigative look into the industry. Many fans are sceptical of this wondering if it's just a ploy to make viewers trust the show. The fact one of the primary producers behind the show is Kim Jung-hoon who is well known for his work on low-brow reality shows, as well as being a producer on the first season of produce 101, definitely isn't a good look. However, some netizens have pointed out that director Lee Junsu is involved, famous for his critically acclaimed dramas. And most notably backing the show is documentation and journalist Jo Jaehwa who is well known for her investigative pieces and she has even helped to get some corrupt people behind bars.
Many fans are waiting excitedly for any more news behind this enigma of a show.
