Golden Quill - The Leaders (GQ3)Zhang Yixing was busy with his morning prayers when he heard the commotion from downstairs. All that noise – it could only mean that his little brother was back home. Chaos and noise always followed Yifeng.
Bowing, letting his head touch the cool stone, he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate.
“Brother!” Yifeng slid open the door and barged into the courtyard, “I am back home.”
Yixing took a deep breath and forced a smile, “I can see that.”
Yifeng plonked himself onto one of the benches and folded his legs under him, “Aren’t you glad to see me?”
“Of course, Yixing rose with the help of his walking stick. His butler stepped forward but he shook his head.
“I see the physio is helping,” Yifeng snickered.
“I thought you planned to stay in Venice for the summer,”
“I did but then I received some news!” Yifeng could hardly contain himself, “I’ve found her brother dear and the bastard who stole her from me…”
“Won her fair and square as I recall,” Yixing interjected, “You realise that you cannot delay on the ceremony any longer. Whether you like it or not, we will decide the family ranking this year.”
