Make It Count

“I love you, Ga Eul. I'm madly in love with you.”
Her world halts immediately as a strange feeling wraps around her heart for she finally hears those words she has been longing for. All this time, Ga Eul thought that she would be the first to confess, and when she told him everything that she has been keeping by her own – she thought the man would feel uncomfortable as she might be rushing it. With her mind is still in a daze with the surprise kiss, the unexpected love confession that comes next makes her mind completely blank.
Only after a silent sigh that the lady realizes that she has been holding her breath the whole time.
And out of nowhere, her vision turns blurry for tears that has been pooling in her eyes once more that day. Her lips gradually stretches downward, pouting as one arm raises to her face. “You one crazy guy,” she murmurs just enough for Jongdae to hear, at the same time brushing off the running tears with her sleeves, making the others stand in between flustered and panicking as she starts sobbing.
“If you really feel that way then why were you being too careful around me all this while? What exactly has made you hold back?” Ga Eul glances up through her lashes, frowning, “How could you only say this now?”
Her weeps grows louder like a little kid whilst Jongdae stays silent, his heart swells from the guilt for making the lady waits for so long.
“I’m sorry.”
“You should be…!” she fusses in frustration, yet still sounds lovely to the other. The pout on her lips stays, Ga Eul gives a glare towards the man before she throws herself towards his arms without warning. Her arms circles around his neck, the lady’s small face buries on Jongdae’s shoulder as she whines, muffled, “I was so scared you’d ridicule me…”
The man melts into a smile, full of amusement and fondness upon the other’s adorable behaviour. “Why would I do that…?” His arm slides around her small figure, pulling her closer whilst slightly waves side to side, another hand trails up before gently caressing Ga Eul’s locks. “That was so cool of you. Thank you for saying the truth, I was too fool to know I’ve made you thinking that way this whole time.” Jongdae lands a peck on the crown of her hair then rest his lips on the same spot. “I’ve made you wait, didn’t I?”
She nods a few times, half of her face is still dived in the same spot.
“I’ve never waited for anyone. You’re the first one.”
“What a lucky guy I am.”
“You bet,” she answers it right away, receiving a burst of laughter from Jongdae as the latter is tickled by the former’s constant way of talking.
His brows furrow as he hisses, pulling away for a bit to check on the lady’s face. Jongdae tilts his head to the side, his nose scrunches, “You’re acting like a baby.”
“So it’s annoying?”
“So it’s adorable…!” His loud laugh echoes, did not expect the assumption that comes from the other whose eyes is watching the man’s Adam apple bobbing up and down his throat. “Gosh, do you think babies are annoying?”
Ga Eul shrugs, “Sometimes.” Her hands slides down to wrap Jongdae’s waist, tugging on his shirt. “But Jin Hee is cute, I love her. We should go and visit her, it’s been a while since I met Jisoo.” Soon as the latter agrees with a nod, once more, the former dives her face into the man’s shoulder, loving his scent a little bit too much. She shut her eyes, appreciating the warm hug that they are sharing now and strangely, his hug doesn’t really send the electrifying feels as the lady thought it would be.
With him, it conveys a comforting and familiar vibes.
As if everything is meant to be this way.
“Jongdae.”
He hums in response, giving one last peck on the lady’s forehead before she pulls away for a bit, gaze twinkling at him.
“Thank you.”
She could not find the right words on what’s the reason behind those words as there is too much to thank him for. Ga Eul holds too much wonderful feelings within herself as she sees Jongdae’s pair of brown orbs shining as he bore his eyes on hers, lips sweetly curling upwards as he leans in once more – this time interlacing their fingers as their lips connects with a kiss. His touch is like the beating of butterfly’s wings, soft until it becomes addictive.
Nothing could have possibly meant more than them, nothing could have more beauty than this moment; of how their hands fit perfectly as if it has been mould for each other, the way her round eyes fluttered to a close and of how both of them shares the same thought about the food that lies on the table – waiting to be eaten again – that she could hear the crinkling of his smile, which starts her giggling too.
Also Jongdae has completely forgot on the other person who is supposed to join them for lunch that day, right until the sound of the front door clicking open is heard and a flat-toned remark from the third person that comes immediately afterwards, “I’ll come in another day…”
The lovebirds pull away in panic, snapping their heads right towards the door that is slowly being shut again before turning to each other again.
A gasp escapes from Ga Eul, “Please don’t tell me that’s Baekhyun.”
The man scratches the back of his head before sheepishly smiles, leading to the other’s puppy whine as she cups her flushed face. Ga Eul’s pair of eyes are faster than ever, shooting a glare right towards the former. Yet it couldn’t last long as she sees the pouty face from him as he whispers, “Then what are we going to do now?”
She melts into soft giggles, one hand tugs on Jongdae’s sleeve – stealing glance at his confused face in between. Ga Eul then darts a quick peck on his cheek, before patting his shoulder two times with the same giggle lingering on her lips, definitely bringing mo
