~~ VI ~~
Just A FriendShe hated it.
Watching them walk around the halls together, the way they smiled and laughed as though a secret between only them was being told. It wasn’t as though she hated seeing Taehyung laugh, because he did deserve every bit of happiness, but more like she hated not being the receptionist of the first ha in the melody of his laughter. She was only hearing the echo of the sound, and it was no longer a beautiful hum, but a painful reminder that he was slipping away from her life.
“Are you two still avoiding each other?” Terra jumped at the sudden voice that emerged beside her, her eyes leaving the duo to instead glare towards the older male, thankful when his charming smile claimed his lips, and she could have almost believed that she would be able to survive this bone crushing heartache.
“Seems like it” Terra admitted with a shrug of her shoulders, allowing her eyes to catch a final glimpse of the couple, right before they made their exit from the school. “What brings you here Oppa?” Her attention completely turned towards the older male, thankful to have someone so precious during her time of need, someone who didn’t ask questions that made her feel worse, who understood her emotions, because he could read them.
“Well someone owes me a cooked dinner” he answered without much thought, an accusing finger being pushed between her eyebrows, forcing Terra to pout harshly at the childish behavior “however, I think I might let you go with just a trip to get some pizza. Sound good?”
“Why, don’t you trust my cooking?” Terra teased, but was stunned when Jin’s eyes grew large as though his biggest secret was just revealed. “Hey! I can cook thank you very much!” She yelled while slapping at his shoulder, and the sound of his laughter was almost enough to make the weight on her heart lift just the slightest. Yet everyone knows, almost doesn’t count.
“It’s not that, I do trust your cooking” Jin admitted with a sheepish smile after calming down his laughing fit “but I’d feel bad making you cook for just me.”
“It wouldn’t be for just you, I’ll be cooking for myself too” Terra spoke with confidence while pulling the straps to her backpack closer towards her back “so I guess we are both going to die of food poison.”
~~~~~~~~
“I didn’t really want food poison” Terra whined while sitting over the toilet, thankful that the door was closed once again and that Jin didn’t feel the need to continue holding her hair back while she threw up everything she spent hours to cook. “I was only kidding, gosh!” She screamed towards the ceiling, cursing whomever for her bad fate, her stomach still knotted and twisted and her head still washing over the heat waves.
“I think you should go to the doctors” Jin spoke from the other side of the door, Terra nodding in complete agreement as though he could actually see the action, completely forgetting that she had locked him out.
“Ye, Eomma, I’ll go” Terra teased despite how truly upset her stomach felt, standing herself up and braving herself for the dizziness and fatigue that settled within givin time. “Does your stomach hurt?” She questioned while opening the door, jealous to see Jin looking perfectly fine while she probably looked like a pale chicken.
“I don’t think you have food poison Terra” Jin admitted while taking her arm and forcing most of her weight onto himself, carrying her down the large staircase and being extremely careful not to upset her anymore. “Did you have…” Jin paused, his eyes falling towards the ground while a bright red hue washed over his cheeks, making Terra raise her eyebrow in complete confusion. “Never mind, I’ll make sure you get the test…”
“What test?” Terra questioned but was silenced when being stuffed into the passenger side of the car, and the door being slammed behind her, not allowing any more room for conversation.
