Chapter 6

D-day.

Mr. Byun: Be safe, son.

Ji Wook: Thank you, Mr. Byun.

Mr. Byun: This kid. When will you call me dad?!

Mr. Bang: Maybe when you don't act like a 5 yr old kid anymore.

Eun Hyuk: I agree.

Mr. Byun: You punks!!

Ji Wook laughed. He'll surely miss these guys' never-ending bickering.

Eun Hyuk: I'm sorry that Yoo Jung can't come today. She has a big trial..

Ji Wook: That's okay. I know how busy she is these days.

Mr. Bang: Where is Bong Hee, by the way? Is she still sleeping?!

Ji Wook: (sighs) She doesn't want to send me off.

Mr. Byun: So where is she?!

Ji Wook: She went out to be with her mom. We've said our goodbyes..

Ji Wook is getting emotional again. He remembered Bong Hee crying this morning, saying goodbye to him...

Bong Hee: Jagiya..

Ji Wook holds her tight. She just sobbed on his chest, thinking it would be the last time she'll be able to sleep beside her husband. It will never be the same anymore. He kisses the top of her head from time to time, saying "saranghae" as much as he can. 

Ji Wook: Please be safe.

Bong Hee: (nods) I will try. Just worry about yourself.. I'm going to be fine.

Ji Wook: (breathes heavily) Are you really leaving this morning?

Bong Hee: I don't know if I can handle it...seeing you go. I really can't.

Ji Wook hugs her tighter.

Ji Wook: Jagiya.. I love you so much. You know that, right?

Bong Hee cries harder.

Bong Hee: I love you so much.. You have no idea.

She looks up at him even if her eyes are already blurry from all the crying. He brushed her tears away and showered her face with gentle kisses.

Bong Hee: Come back to me soon.

Ji Wook: I will.

It didn't take long and Ji Wook was ready to leave. He said his goodbyes to them and wished all of them well.

Ji Wook: Thank you for coming. I really appreciate it. (Bows)

Mr. Bang: Stay safe, Ji Wook. I mean it.

Ji Wook: (smiles) Yes. And you, too. And...please look after Bong Hee.

Eun Hyuk: Of course.

Bong Hee: Jagiya!!

Everybody turned around and saw Bong Hee walking fast towards them.

Eun Hyuk: Ms. Eun!

Mr. Bang: (smiles) I just knew she'd come.

Ji Wook: (smiles) Bong Hee..

Bong Hee hugs Ji Wook, crying.

Ji Wook: Jagiya.. I thought-

Bong Hee: I can't see you leave but I can't also handle the thought of not being with you this time..

Ji Wook smiles but everyone can see the sadness in his eyes.

Ji Wook: I'm glad you're here..

Bong Hee looks at her husband without breaking the hug. "I know." She smiles and kisses him quickly.

Ji Wook holds her face and returned her kiss, not minding the public display of affection.

"I love you." They both said at the same time.

Yoo Jung: I can't believe it's been a month since Wookie left.

Bong Hee: And I can't believe you're calling him Wookie in front of me.

Ji Hye: (rolls eyes) These girls...

Yoo Jung: Ahjumma! Another bottle, please! 

Ji Hye: God, sunbae. Why won't you stop? You're already drunk!

Bong Hee's phone rang. She immediately look at the screen. She smiled instantly and answered the call.

Bong Hee: Jagiya..

Ji Wook: Jagiya.. I just got home. How's your day? Have you eaten?

Bong Hee: I'm with Prosecutor Na and Prosecutor Cha.

Ji Wook: Oh. I forgot, I'm sorry.. Don't drink too much, okay?

Bong Hee: Promise. (Smiles) I miss y-

She wasn't able to finish talking because Yoo Jung already took the phone from her.

Yoo Jung: Wookie!! (Laughs)

Ji Hye: Mygod..

Bong Hee: Yoo Jung!!!

Yoo Jung: (still on the phone) Oh. What?! (Laughs) Bong Hee. Our beautiful Bong Hee..

Bong Hee and Ji Hye looked at each other, wondering what Yoo Jung & Ji Wook are talking about.

Yoo Jung: You fool. Why did you leave your wife? She hasn't been eating well. Do you know how skinny she is? I can lift her with one hand!

Bong Hee: Cha Yoo Jung. I swear...

Yoo Jung: Yes! And this girl is crying almost everyday because she misses you! How can you leave her?!

Bong Hee was able to snatch her phone from Yoo Jung's hand, finally.

Bong Hee: Ji Wook.. i'm sorry.. She's just really drunk..

Ji Wook: You're not eating?!

Bong Hee: That's not true..

Ji Wook: I don't want you to get sick. Please, jagiya..

Bong Hee: (sighs) Jagiya.. She's just drunk.

Ji Wook: I know. I just....worry.

Bong Hee: I know. And you must not. Okay? We're going home.

Ji Wook: Alright.. Be safe. I mean it.

Bong Hee: You, too. Eat your dinner. It's late.

Ji Wook: Yes. and I love you..

Bong Hee just missed him even more. This s
