Chapter 5
PresenceA few hours later, Hakyeon finally regained consciousness. It was already past midnight. He slowly sat up. He could still feel the throbbing pain of his head as he scanned his surroundings groggily. He could feel the abnormal heat that was radiating from his forehead. Despite that, he felt himself shiver as he remembered the recent event that took place between him and the members.
He rose up unsteadily as he held on the mirror for support. He limped slowly to retrieve his bag from the floor. Even bending down to take his bag strained his body tremendously as he panted heavily. He checked his smartphone and was disheartened to see the lack of missed calls even though he did not have any contact with the members for the past few hours.
“Of course. Why would they even be worried about me?” Hakyeon thought as he stuffed his phone back to his bag and took out a jacket from his bag and put it on, hoping to gain some warmth. He switched off the lights and made his way back to the dorm.
When he arrived at the dormitory, he wasn’t surprised to see it empty. However, considering how late it was, Hakyeon decided to call the members since they had various schedules to attend to the following day. As expected, none of the members picked up his call, so he left a message in their group chat to remind them.
Hakyeon went to the toilet to freshen up and re-bandage his wound again. He took off the bandage slowly, wincing at the pain and proceeded to wash it to prevent further infection. He took another new bandage out from his bag and wrapped it around his knee tightly, to prevent the blood from seeping onto his clothes. After he was done, he took a quick shower and took his pills.
