A sudden sound of fire alarm echoed through the whole house. Before I could react to the small fire that has started on the cooking pan the water sprinklers in the house started. It rained down the whole house extinguishing the small fire and soaking the whole house.

"Woah! Cool!" My little sister Zui exclaimed. She was normally the quite but evil type. She seemed excited running around the house which was a quite rare sight to see while me on the other hand remorsed and thought about how I would answer my mother.

"This is what happens when I leave you two for one day?" Mom sighed trying to calm herself. "What the hell were you trying to do Tzuyu?"

"Zui was hungry and I tried to be a responsible elder sister just like how you had adviced and cooked food for her" I explained.

"Can't you just order take out?" Mom asked. Oh yeah! I forgot. I gave her an ashamed expression. Before she can say anything else the person who checked the appliances came back.

"Mrs. Chou It's going to take almost a month to repair the house. Lots of things were damaged due to being soaked." My mom nodded.

"Now what am I going to do?" My mom said glaring at me.

"How about we go back to Taiwan mom?" My eight year old sister spoke. She doesn't know why we moved to Korea. Dad died when we were young and his relatives treated my mother badly just because she was an orphan. She had decided to come to Korea where she had studied and had met dad. It was difficult for me to adjust especially learning Korean. Thank god mom knew how to speak Korean. I'm still not that fluent in Korean.

"Oh honey! what about your school if you go to taiwan?" Mom asked. Zui loved her school.

"Mom what are we going to do then?" Zui asked.

"I'll think of something dear" she answered.

Now I feel worse. She had looked after us all these years. It must be hard looking after us while handling both work and the house. She had struggled a lot as a single mother trying to give me and Zui a better life. And I couldn't even look after the house for a few hours.

My mom looked at me giving me a smile in understanding. She kept her hand on my shoulder and gave me a kiss on the forehead. She was the best mother in the world for me.

"I know you tried honey" she said.

"I'm sorry mom" I mumbled.

"Don't worry you'll learn oneday. I trust you" She said.

We were inside the car with all our belongings.

"Where are we staying?" I asked.

"It's my friend's house. We became friends when we were at school here in Korea. I was new to Korea. She was also new. She's Japanese" she explained. I just nodded.

"Oh! and she has a daughter studying at your school. She's your senior. Maybe you know her" my mom said. My head snapped in her direction.

"Who?" I asked curiously.

"Miyoui Mina. You know her?" Mom asked.

Of course I knew her. Well I heard of her. She was one of the most popular people in school. She along with her two Japanese friends were known as the j-trinity. While her Japanese friends were known for their friendliness she was known for her cold exterior.

I have to live with her family for a month. This will certainly be intresting.
