　For the most part, Sarang wears whites and red traditional clothing that is as least puffy as possible since it's much easier to walk and get around in. 　She remembers it vividly. The day was warm, and the air smelled of salt from the waters below. She was sixteen at the time. He caught her attention the moment he boarded the vessel. He walks with purpose and pride though his face carries that of mirth, most likely all collected throughout his years and time on this earth. And yet, despite his outward annoyance, he's beautiful all the same. There were not many women aboard her fathers vessel and her lady-in-waiting, Hanni, was occupied at the moment, so she didn't expect anybody to gossip about this mysterious new comer in the way that she would have to her lady-in-waiting, but she was curious nonetheless. "Gwanhee, who is that man?" She turns to her fathers best friend, his second in command. Gwanhee grunts as he tugs at a loose roap and reknots it firmly in place. "The swordsman? Your father signed a contract with him on the last full moon. You're going to be seeing a lot of him around, little lass." Sarang girmaces. She didn't understand it at all. "But why would papa need a swordsman?" Gwanhee, finished with the knots turns to the youngling, ruffling her hair in the exact way he knows irks her most. "You're a woman now Sarang. Your father just wants security." "Security for what? I can take care of myself quite fine." Gwanhee snorts. "I'm sure he knows that well, but in the wide world, one can never be too cautious. I hope you'll never have need for that swordsman either." Before Sarang could pry anymore, Gwanhee bounds off to join her father and the swordsman.

"Sarang." The voice of her lady-in-waiting, Hanni, gains her attention. "Your father summons you." With a small smile, Sarang stands tall. "Lead the way, Hanni." With a nod of her head, Hanni brings Sarang into the command room. The skipper and the mariner are the furthest in the room, standing by the stiring wheel, probably discussing the route to take. At the center oftheroom stands a large round table with seats surounding it. Along the walls, bookshelves filled with all sorts of books. She can hear several others discussing course of action over a map onthe round table and there stands her father accompanied by the swordsman. "Father, you called?" Sarang walks forth, with her lady-in-waiting on her right, slightly behind. "Sarang. I want you to meet your new guard. Yeo Won-Il. He is to accompany you at all times henceforth." Sarang drags her eyes from her father over to the man standing beside him. His leather, gloved hand rests over the hilt of his sword. He dips into a bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lady Baek. If there is anything you will need from me, do not hesitate to ask. I am at your disposal." When Sarang says nothing for a moment, Won-Il looks up at her, expectant. Sarang clears , "You may address me as Sarang. It is a pleasure to meet you as well." Is all she can muster. Hearing her words, he stands tall again. "And, this is Hanni, my daughters personal maid. You will be spending a lot of time with her too. It would be wise to acquire any information you may need about my daughter from her in terms of her schedule, places she visits, and so forth." Seongmin adds. Hanni bows her head, and Won-Il returns the sentiments. "I will do so accordingly, Sir." Seongmin nods, somehow very proud of himself. "Okay then. There are things I need to attend to, so...off you go darling. We'll be taking off quite soon." He then moves forth to give his daughter a great big hug, and places a kiss to her forehead. "I love you, Sarang." "And I, you father." She returns the hug breifly before releasing her father, and turning to leave the room with two pairs of feet following behind. As she exits the room she releases a sigh. If it were up to her she would have told her father just how unnecessary this was, but her father had already been through far too much recently with the passing of his wife, her mother. The least she could do was allow him this one thing, bide her time, and soon he'd tell the swordsman to hit the road. Yes, that's what she'd do, wait patiently until it was just her and Hanni again.

I am set to take off on the 5th of May to collect some more seafood for his highness. You are to join us on our voyage this time around. It is high time you meet her.

Truthfully, he'd been waiting to get that old mans letter. They agreed on the terms so long ago, he had grown impatient waiting. He had already served the imperial army for a couple years, and was discharged with honor following an injury to his leg, but that didn't quite stop him from doing the same line of work. He had enrolled for the army so young, he bypassed any education because he knew he was good with a sword, its what he was built for. It was just too bad that all of it came to an end when it did. Without it, he didn't know what he was going to do. This man was a true godsend. Packing up what little he had, he made his way to the mans ship. He'd seen it once before, so locating it was quite easy. He boarded the ship with ease, there weren't many people watching or paying attention for that matter. He ran into a crew member and promptly asked to see their captain. After the small walk to the pit, he's face to face with the man who bought his services. "Oi! Welcome aboard. I'm glad you're here. I'm also excited for you to meet her." He boasts, turning to another crew member. "Samdong, can you find Hanni, and tell her to bring Sarang over, please?" With a nod, the man retreats from the room. Finally, he was gonig to meet the lovely Sarang. He'd heard quite a handful about her from her father, when he'd first contracted him. The wait felt longer than it was, but when she walks into the room, he can tell he's really going to be in for a ride. "Father, You called?" She's graceful and elegant, almost as if she'd fit right into the imperial family themselves. She lights up the room, and he can tell how close she is with her father after their initial interations before his eyes. "Sarang. I want you to meet your new guard. Yeo Won-Il. He is to accompany you at all times henceforth." He'd been keeping his eyes on Sarang this entire time who finally oogles her eyes over to his. There's a shift in her, he notices. She'd been watching him on the deck, and she wanted an excuse to look at him now. Her eyes rest on his hand, resting comfortably at his sword. It was like a second hand to him. With a curt bow he begins, "It's a pleasure to meet you Lady Baek. If there is anything you will need from me, do not hesitate to ask. I am at your disposal." Seconds tick by he's still bowing, waiting for her to say something, anything to dismiss this horrid posture. He spares a glance, prompting her. As if in a trance, his gaze electrifies her, and she clears . "You may address me as Sarang. It is a pleasure to meet you as well." He almost wants to laugh.This girl really is something else. She'd been provocitavely raking her eyes over him that she'd forgotten to answer him. He takes a breath, straightening out. He steals a look at her father, who looked as oblivious as ever. "And, this is Hanni, my daughters personal maid. You will be spending a lot of time with her too. It would be wise to acquire any information you may need about my daughter from her in terms of her schedule, places she visits, and so forth." He takes his time to look at the maid. She doesn't look very old, but certainly older than her mistress. She bows a greeting in his direction, to which he returns it promptly before turning to Seongmin, "I will do so accordingly, Sir." With a clap of his hands Seongmin draws all attention back to himself. "Okay then. There are things I need to attend to, so...off you go darling. We'll be taking off quite soon." He then moves forth to give his daughter a great big hug, and places a kiss to her forehead. "I love you, Sarang." "And I, you father."

LOVE STORY

　As it turns out, her father did not let up on her. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years. The swordsman never left her side, even for the most mundane things. He never spoke either, unless urged to, which irritated Sarang to no end. Of course, that didn't stop her from trying to get to know him all the more. It was a challenge she wanted to solve, after all.
When Sarang got used to the fact that Won-Il was there to stay, she began her interogations. He was always so stoic, it irked Sarang to no end. She found herself getting rid of her maid more and more just to figure this guy out. She's beyong desperate to gain even the smallest reaction from this man and she doesn't even know why she cares so much.. What an annoying, stubborn man!

This girl. She was interesting. She was also much more than what her father had described her to be. Charming. He could see right through her, however. She tried to find her way down to his soul, and he made it extremely difficult for her to do so. Dare he even say he liked the chase? Absolutely.
The more the days went on, the more he knew who she was down to the bone. She was hard-working, she was loyal and kind. She was a woman who had lost her mother too soon, and she was a woman who didn't let others see those scars. There were moments where her smile would fall or a subtle change in her eyes that were her tell and he came to know them well.
He grew too comfortable around her and felt much more at ease when it was just the two of them (of course, no offense to her maid), but he began to trust Sarang more and more that he felt he could open up to her. He tried long and hard to ignore her advances as he was strictly here on duty, but how could anybody look at this girl and have no interest? He was not blind, and he was not immune to her charm. It was no wonder why her father needed him by her side. The gazes she got when walking down the street...geez. With him by her side, they didn't dare look her way. Good. He grew attatched too quickly, and there was no cure to it. He'd fallen long and hard with no intention of turning back.
He finds himself meeting her father one morning demanding to be taken off the pay roll. "What do you mean?! You no longer wish to serve Sarang?" Her father exclaims, raising attention from his crew. "My lord...that's not it at all. I am very grateful to you, and to this duty. However, I am humbly suggesting that you withdrawl my contract." He bows deep to his employer. The gesture and ask dawn on him. "You...Are you in love with Sarang?" Won-Il tenses. "Rise, Won-Il. I appreciate you coming to me about this. I know Sarangc can be...a hand ful, but she's comfortable with you. You two know each other, and with your rank...I'm sorry, I cannot withdraw the contract. She needs you. Especially now, she's supposed to enter the palace." That bit of information throws Won-Il. "I'm sorry?...Th-The palace?" Seongmin nods, "She is in the running, to become Empress."

ENDING

　The ending will be determined by what turn the story takes. I would LOVE nothing more to have these two together but given the fact that Sarang will do anything to benefit her family, well she won't give up without a fight. But the angst and tension between these are going to be so thick you can cut it with a knife. I leave it in your hands! ^^
