The apartment was cloaked in silence, save for the distant hum of city life filtering through the closed windows. Sehun sat on the edge of the couch, his brow furrowed in frustration as he stared at his phone, the screen casting an eerie glow on his face. Across from him, Kim paced back and forth, her arms folded tightly across her chest.

"We need to talk, Sehun," Kim said, her voice tinged with a hint of desperation.

Sehun looked up, his eyes meeting hers for a fleeting moment before he returned his gaze to his phone. "Can it wait, Kim? I'm in the middle of something important."

Kim stopped pacing, her patience wearing thin. "It can't wait, Sehun. We've been avoiding this for too long."

Sehun let out a sigh, setting his phone aside and running a hand through his hair. "Fine, let's talk."

Kim took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to say. "I don't know how else to say this, but... I think we should break up."

Sehun's heart sank at her words, the weight of them crashing down on him like a ton of bricks. "Break up? But why, Kim? What did I do wrong?"

Kim shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "It's not about what you did, Sehun. It's about what we've become. We're not the same people we used to be, and I don't know if we can fix it."

Sehun felt a lump form in his throat as he struggled to find the right words to say. Before he could respond, a loud crash echoed from the hallway, causing both of them to jump in alarm.

"What was that?" Kim asked, her eyes wide with fear.

Sehun stood up slowly, his senses on high alert as he moved towards the front door. As he reached for the handle, Kim grabbed his arm, her grip tight with anxiety.

"Don't open it, Sehun. It could be dangerous," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Sehun hesitated for a moment, torn between his curiosity and Kim's warning. Eventually, he relented, stepping back from the door as he tried to make sense of what had just happened.

"What do you think it was?" Sehun asked, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his heart.

Kim shook her head, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. "I don't know, but whatever it is, we need to be careful. Something doesn't feel right."

Just as she spoke, another crash sounded from outside, followed by the unmistakable sound of shuffling footsteps.

Without another word, Sehun and Kim exchanged a glance, their unspoken agreement hanging heavy in the air. Whatever was happening outside, they knew they needed to stick together if they had any hope of surviving what was to come.

Sehun and Kim stood frozen in place, their minds racing with fear and uncertainty. The shuffling footsteps outside grew louder, accompanied by the faint sound of guttural moans that sent shivers down their spines.

"What do we do, Sehun?" Kim whispered, her voice trembling with fear.

Sehun glanced around the room, his mind racing as he tried to formulate a plan. "We need to stay calm and figure out what's going on. Maybe it's just someone outside."

Kim nodded, her grip on Sehun's arm tightening with each passing second. "But what if it's not? What if it's..." she trailed off, unable to bring herself to say the word they both feared.

Sehun's heart sank at the realization of what Kim was implying. The stories of the dead coming back to life had always seemed like something out of a horror movie, but now, faced with the eerie sounds emanating from outside their door, it was becoming all too real.

"We need to stay quiet and wait it out," Sehun said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll go check the peephole and see if I can see anything."

Kim nodded, her eyes wide with fear as she watched Sehun cautiously approach the door. With trembling hands, he reached for the peephole and peered through, his breath catching in his throat as he caught sight of something that made his blood run cold.

"What is it, Sehun? What do you see?" Kim asked, her voice filled with dread.

Sehun turned to face her, his expression pale with shock. "It's... it's a person, but... they're not alive. Their eyes, they're... empty. And there's blood..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a loud thud reverberated through the door, causing both Sehun and Kim to jump in fright. Without hesitation, Sehun quickly stepped away from the door, his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to process what he had just seen.

"We need to barricade the door," Kim said, her voice urgent as she looked around the room for anything they could use as a makeshift barrier.

Sehun nodded, his mind racing with adrenaline as he joined Kim in moving the furniture towards the door. With each piece they added to the barricade, the sounds from outside grew louder, the sense of impending danger looming ever closer.

With the door barricaded and their hearts pounding in their chests, Sehun and Kim huddled together in the dimly lit apartment, their senses on high alert as they listened to the unsettling sounds emanating from outside. The minutes stretched into hours as they waited in silence, the tension in the air thick and palpable.

"We need to find out what's going on," Sehun whispered, breaking the silence that had enveloped the room.

Kim nodded, her eyes darting nervously towards the windows. "But how? It's too dangerous to go out there."

Sehun furrowed his brow, his mind racing with possibilities. "Maybe there's something on the news. We could try turning on the TV and see if there's any information."

With cautious steps, Sehun made his way towards the television, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of movement. As he reached for the remote, Kim joined him, her hand trembling as she grasped his tightly.

"Be careful, Sehun," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart.

Sehun nodded, his fingers trembling as he pressed the power button on the remote. The screen flickered to life, casting a soft glow across the room as the news anchor's voice filled the air.

"...reports of violent attacks in the downtown area. Eyewitnesses describe the assailants as appearing disoriented and aggressive, with reports of cannibalistic behavior..."

Sehun's blood ran cold as he listened to the reporter's words, the reality of their situation sinking in with each passing moment. This wasn't just a random act of violence – it was something far more sinister.

"It's happening everywhere," Kim whispered, her voice filled with despair.

Sehun nodded, his mind racing with fear and uncertainty. "We need to stay calm and think of a plan. We can't stay holed up in here forever."

Kim nodded, her eyes filled with determination as she met Sehun's gaze. "We'll figure it out together, Sehun. We just have to stay strong."

As the night wore on, Sehun and Kim remained huddled together in their makeshift sanctuary, the sounds of chaos and destruction echoing faintly from outside. With each passing moment, the tension in the air grew thicker, a suffocating blanket of fear and uncertainty that hung heavy over them like a shroud.

"We can't just stay here forever," Sehun said, his voice barely above a whisper as he glanced towards the barricaded door.

Kim nodded, her eyes filled with determination. "I know, but we need to be smart about this. We can't risk going out there until we know it's safe."

Sehun sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "But how will we know when it's safe? What if we're trapped in here forever?"

Before Kim could respond, a faint buzzing sound filled the air, causing both of them to freeze in place. Sehun's eyes widened in surprise as he reached into his pocket, retrieving his phone and unlocking the screen to reveal a message notification.

"It's from the government," Sehun said, his voice tinged with relief as he read the message aloud. "Emergency alert: A state of emergency has been declared due to a widespread outbreak of violence and aggression. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and avoid all unnecessary travel. Please remain calm and await further instructions."

Kim's eyes widened in alarm as she listened to the message, the gravity of their situation sinking in with each passing word. "It's real, isn't it? This isn't some kind of nightmare."

Sehun nodded, his heart heavy with the weight of their reality. "It's real, Kim. And we need to do everything we can to stay safe."

With a renewed sense of purpose, Sehun and Kim sat together in the darkness, their minds racing with thoughts of survival and escape. Though the road ahead would be fraught with danger and uncertainty, they knew that as long as they had each other, they would find a way to weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side.

Armed with the knowledge from the government's message, Sehun and Kim huddled closer together, their minds buzzing with questions and fears. The apartment felt like a sanctuary amidst the chaos outside, but it also felt like a prison, trapping them within its walls with no clear path to safety.

"We can't just sit here and do nothing," Kim said, her voice filled with determination. "We need to come up with a plan."

Sehun nodded, his mind racing as he tried to think of their next move. "We could try to gather supplies from the other apartments. There might be food and water that could last us a while."

Kim nodded in agreement, her eyes flickering towards the windows. "But we'll need to be careful. We don't know what's out there."

Sehun glanced towards the barricaded door, his heart pounding with fear and anticipation. "We'll stick together and watch each other's backs. We'll make it through this, Kim. I promise."

With a shared sense of resolve, Sehun and Kim began to gather what supplies they could find within their own apartment, packing them into backpacks and bags for easy transport. As they prepared to venture out into the unknown, their hearts were heavy with uncertainty, but their determination to survive burned bright within them.

With cautious steps, they approached the barricaded door, their hands trembling as they prepared to face whatever horrors awaited them on the other side. With one final glance towards each other, they nodded in silent agreement, and together, they pushed open the door, ready to face the unknown.
