How the heck do you roleplay here?

I'm used to the Invisionfree roleplaying since I've been doing that for 7 years (until this X-mas, lol, gave up, too many newbies that disrespect me and my older rp buddies, they can kiss my ) and that kinda was the only thing that relaxed me during tensed periods (exams and such). Thing is, there I wrote like 1000~2000 words only about my completely invented character which has an actress/actor/model/etc as its "face", so I don't know how the rp-ing system works here .-.

I mean, why in the world would you use the idol's name, when you can create a whole new character and just use their face? I don't know, I'm confused. I'd be more comfortable with just their image, rather than their name as well and such (kinda like what apply fics do?).

I really don't understand the system around here. *shakes head*
