I wanted to do an analysis on the evolution of how Yunho see’s himself.

Beginning of 2006

Did Yunho change after he got popular?

“Yes, he changed a lot!  Not saying that change is bad.  After being a star, he treats those around him better.” Hojun

We know that ‘changing’ after you debut is usually something bad.  Remember when Junsu and Eunhyuk teased Donghae saying that he would change after debut?  Donghae cried after that.  It has a negative connotation usually, but in Yunho’s case he changed for the better.  

We know now that Yunho used to be the type to tell others such as Changmin things like 'if you aren’t serious quite now’, right? or even that cute guy Yunho.  At this time we didn’t know how the Yunho from predebut differed so much from the leader Yunho we see now.  But even back then it was apparent that Yunho had such a drastic change that Yunho’s friend had to immediatelysay yes Yunho has changed.

And also the way Yunho tries to downplay the fact that he’s changed.  At the end of the interview he said 'don’t change’ and then he changed it to 'you are able to change a little’ already shows his insecurity on the matter. 

Think about this, imagine how Yunho feels after he hears these things constantly being told to him.  'You’re different, You’ve changed, You’re not who you used to be’.  Even if it’s meant to be nice it’s something that makes you feel strange.

Yunho knows that people usually mean well when they tell him he’s changed.  Even though it’s a positive change Yunho still felt hurt sometimes hearing such words.  But at the same time he knows that he embraces his changed self.  He is amazing.  He works hard to better himself all the time.  He is so strong and he knows this, he’s always doing his best to be the best for us and s.

When I first read this one I thought about those earlier interviews.  After JYJ left SM it was Yunho and Changmin.  Yunho always puts such a weight on his own shoulders when it comes to being the leader of TVXQ.  When they were on break for that period of time, when he wasn’t on camera, around members as the leader, when so many things were uncertain, what was he feeling?  Is he questioning who he is?  If he’s not being TVXQ’s leader, Uknow Yunho, is he wondering who he is?  Is he wondering now If he’s his own person how should he be?  What would Uknow Yunho do when he’s troubled? What is Jung Yunho going to do now? Was he thinking these things? Was he feeling lost?

I think at this time he’s found the person he’s changed to become, Uknow Yunho, is not the same as Jung Yunho and maybe was a little lost and startled after realizing this.  At this time maybe he’s starting to see Uknow Yunho and Jung Yunho are different parts of him and maybe he’s still trying to figure himself out.  I think he probably had a lot of self reflection going on.  

(Personally I was worried about him at this time because of this statement.  When something emotional happens you start acting differently than you usually do.  When people make up stories about you in the media, when fans and people just start going crazy around you and telling you different things and making you feel so many different things, you begin to lose yourself.  I prayed for Yunho and the members, that they had support and weren’t becoming lost in the chaos.  I just wanted to hug him and tell him 'Yunho, you’re Yunho silly, we love you no matter what!  Just be Yunho and that’s enough.’ Of course it’s not like i’m with him.  All I could do was try to be a good fan and try not to freak out and try to be level headed about the things that were happening.)

I think in the most recent years Yunho really has had a self discovery.  It is clear to him that Jung Yunho and Uknow Yunho are two different people within him.  The way he states it feels so confident too, as if he’s figured himself out and has accepted it all.  Just the way he was able to say it so clearlymakes me think he’s thought about who he is a lot and has just gone through so much and has done a lot of self reflection.  Yunho knows himself, Yunho accepts all the parts of himself.  I love the way he describes himself too because he is still a kid with a lot to learn, and I love that he knows he’s got a long way to go in his self growth but will handle it all as himself.  He doesn’t have to be one or the other, he is facing the world as Uknow Yunho and Jung Yunho.  

Our leader is amazing right?  I’m glad he shared his feelings with us and allowed us to see his growth through the years up until now.  I wish I could thank him for always working so hard and for always thinking about us and s.  I hope that us fans can give back at least half of the love and patients and care he gives us.  Cassiopeia let’s continue to support this big kid okay?  He’s been through so much but it’s because of his positive attitude, hard work and strong will power that he’s been able to discover all of this about himself and is able to always move forward with confidence with us.

"I am almost graduating my 20s and I have a mixed feelings. In old days, I was driven by my passion and pushed myself harder… but starting now, I have a new plan in my mind. Personally I wish to continue to be an artist but I wish to graduate from “my character.” People around me says that I am a warm hearted and earnest person. But I really wish to be more honest with myself.”

What an interesting development!  Does he mean graduating from “Uknow Yunho” and showing himself as “Jung Yunho”? I honestly don’t know if things will change very much but who knows?  What brought this up though? Is it because the SM contract is coming to a close, because he’s turning 30 and thinking about military service, or is he simply thinking about letting up a little?  This shedding of his “character” is something to look forward to though I think!  Seeing a more “honest” Yunho, more than we already see, will be great even though i'm sure he's generally an honest guy to begin with.
