[Author's Choice] Ashley has a crush on Vernon but Joshua thinks he's a bad boy.

Ashley's POV:

"He's looking at you," my friend, Tiffany, smirked. 

"Really?" I asked, making my eyes go wide. Wow, that came out more eager than I thought it would.

"Well, you sound happy," Tiffany giggled.

"Oh, shush," I nagged. "Where is he?" 

"Three (3) o'clock. Don't look back," she replied.

"I don't speak clock. Translate into English please," I objected.

Tiffany rolled her eyes. "That's your right, stupid. Don't look, he's coming this way."

Tiffany and I went back to sipping our bubble tea, trying to act normal. I 'accidentally' dropped my purse from the table and bent down to pick it up. My hand reached the purse first but another hand was settled on top of mine. And I knew exactly who it was. I looked up and saw Vernon smirking down at me.  

"Ashley, dropping things on purpose is so like you," Vernon grinned.

I gave him a small smile and put my shoulder on the table, the tip of my straw coming in contact with my lips. I took a sip of my bubble tea before I responded. "I wouldn't have to if I knew that you weren't here. But here you are, standing right in front of me."

"You're just dying for my attention, aren't you?" he asked, that smirk never leaving his face.

"Maybe," I admitted.

"I'm glad I have that kind of affect on you then," he said.

I didn't say anything back. Our conversations were always like this. He knew that I had a thing for him. I don't know how. I've always guessed that someone told him but it's still a mystery. Ever since he found out, he started talking to me more. He'd squeeze in the fact that I liked him in every conversation that we had. From there, we would just say witty comments back and forth to each other.

"Anyways, I actually came by to ask you guys something," Vernon spoke.

"And what might that be?" I asked.

Vernon leaned in closer to my face, with his hands in his pockets. "I'm having a party tonight at my place and I was wondering if you and your friend wanted to come."

"Oh, I can't go," Tiffany announced. "I'm busy. I've got some important stuff to do tonight."

I stared at Tiffany. She had no plans tonight. Tiffany gave me a wink indicating that she had this in mind. Oh, I see what yu're doing, Tif. Thank, boo.

Vernon looked over at Tiffany then back at me. He moved even closer, our noses just inches away from touching. "Well, then I guess it's just gonna be you and me, babe."

I raised an eyebrow. "You said it was gonna be a party."

"I lied. You would have said no if I
