Description
Kim Jonghyun, lead singer of SHINee, had nothing to do but get bored at home while the rest of his bandmates had busy schedules. Jonghyun was all depressed at home until one day [May 25, 2010] on SHINee's 2nd year debut anniversary, he decided to check the usual fanmail for him outside of SHINee's apartment. You'd think he'd be a typical heartless idol, but he really responds to fanmail; just only in like a brief paragraph and add a few giveaways.
Jonghyun stumbles upon one regular plain envelope out of all the other fancy and personalized mail SHINee gets from fans. Thinking it was a business letter, he opens it, only to find out that the letter was actually from a fan. She doesn't write the usual fan messages of:
"I LOVE YOU, KIM JONGHYUN!!!"
or....
"I WANNA HAVE YOUR BABIES!!!"
or...
"SHINEE IS A GIRLY BAND - THEY'RE ALL GAY!" <---- (antifanmail. Oh yes, idols get that, too.)
Instead... this fan sincerely writes how much of an inspiration SHINee's music has been to her; especially to the lead singer.
Surprisingly, the Bling Bling starts to write back, but instead of one paragraph, he writes a whole page letter to the fan.
This is a love story of how a relationship between an idol and a fan turns into friends, then co-workers (surprisingly), then finally love blooms. Drama may be evident in this fanfic story; I was inspired to write this from Key and IU's performance on MusicBank when they sang "Love Letter For You". :) Enjoy!
Foreword
Prologue: May 25, 2010
Kim Jonghyun, lead singer of SHINee, is bored at the dorm.
Why, you may ask?
Because he's got a free schedule.
FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS. O.O
Meanwhile, his bandmates/friends have either a busy full schedule each day, or have at least one or two schedules in a day.
Jonghyun sulked on top of the couch as he went under mild depression.
His thoughts?:
....nobody likes me anymore. When are we gonna promote our next full album? Manager-hyung said to wait, but still!
And he pouts like crazy.
Getting bored out of his mind, Jonghyun decides to check the mailbox outside of the apartment. He stands up from the couch and walks towards the door.
A few minutes later, Jonghyun comes downstairs to the main floor, dressed in ultimate disguise. It seems he's the only member in SHINee that can pull it off.
Jonghyun snickered to himself at the thought.
Everytime Onew was in a disguise, he'd be easily recognizable in a crowd.
Everytime Key was in a disguise, he'd be too obvious as he's always wearing pink amongst a crowd full of similar colored clothing.
Everytime Minho was in a disguise, it'd be pointless because of his height. -__-
Everytime Taemin was in a disguise, his outfit would be so obvious that he's some sort of idol going to school.
Whereas Jonghyun wore a regular outfit with regular shades without a mask and didn't style himself much, no one could tell he was BlingBling.
Jonghyun frantically searched for any fans lurking about, but no one was around. Probably because it was early out in the morning.
Jonghyun checked his watch and his eyes widened.
12:01p.m.
Huh.
Maybe this was his lucky day. :)
With a smile on his face, the dinosaur-looking idol went to collect his mail.
A few minutes passed, and already Jonghyun's back on the couch in his dorm, reading different fancy letters and gifts from fans. To celebrate SHINee's debut.
After all, it's been 2 years since SHINee debuted on that date.
Jonghyun smiled naturally at all the positive mail, freaked out at the obsessive fanmail, and scoffed at the anti fanmail.
But one mail drew his attention - a plain looking envelope among all the fancy colored ones.
Curiosity filled Jonghyun's brain as he began to open the plain looking envelope, revealing a letter written in Hangul, but the writing was somehow different.
"A fan letter? o_O I thought this was a business letter for Manager-hyung. God, it's so bland!" he exclaimed aloud. He simply shrugged afterwords.
"Oh well, as long as it's a fan letter, I'll gladly read it. :)"
He began to read the letter, letting his jaw drop and his eyes widen, then after reading the letter, he smiled brightly.
He looked up at the ceiling, rethinking about the nice letter he had just read.
"Hmmm...." Jonghyun started thinking to himself aloud, "....maybe I should reply? Yes! I think I'll do that!" He jumped up and scurried around for his laptop.
Once he found his laptop, he opened it up and tried looking for Google Translations.
