Foreword

Time.

A structure we have created to handle the few, short‐lived days of our life correctly. Yet, the definition of ‘correctly’ varies from person to person. While some may prefer to live life to the fullest, using their years in this world to do what they love and cherish, others wish to stick to the more conservative route; a lifestyle in which society has encouraged everyone to live by since the creation of civilization.

This conception of ‘time being precious’ has been forced down our throats since the day of our birth, and unknowingly, the idea starts to disperse into the back of our minds as we grow older, only to be pieced back together when our lives are drawing to a close.
“Jagiya…”
It seems that only when the time have on Earth is written in lonely numbers, we start to open our eyes to examine our life, our worth, as if it is already over – our achievements, our mistakes and our regrets, all solely judged by ourselves.
“I need every night staff in this ward! Somebody move this man out of the patient’s room!”
In my case, I only have a limited amount of time left on this Earth.
“JAGIYA!”
And, I wish to spend it how I please.
Relentless cries and the stench of anti‐bacterial gel cover over the mess – all features I grew accustomed to.
I was in a place of familiarity that had burned into my memory long ago and has since left scars which fail to heal ‐ Busan Paik Hospital.
“May I help you, sir? Do you need directions?”
“No, no. I’m fine.”
I’ve lost count of how many days I’ve been lying on this hospital bed – broken, blind and dumb. It’s as if I’m locked in a dark cavern, one in which my tortured mind agonisingly plays the accident over and over again. The vision of the incident becomes more vivid each time my mind does as much as slightly touch upon the memory. Still sore like newly made wound, the only thing to heal me now…
“Did you miss me?”
… Was him.

 Can you trust me?
