26. Everything Inside Never Comes Out Right

Three Halves to Make Me Whole

(( Hello hello everyone~ I hope things are going well, I think it's bee a while since I had an author's note at the beginning xD I've just been busy with school and work and just focused on updating, and haven't had much to say :3

We got our first two asks on tumblr though! :D Those were awesome, I was spazzing to Angel when I got notifications for them, and it's even better because with those we can both reply on the same thing :3 Since Angel talks to commenters on here and I just talk to whoever sends pms xD

Also, by the next update the playlist should be back in order, and I can post a link to it for those who are interested since it has more songs than are just linked in the titles :3

Anywho, I don't think there's much else to say at the moment :3 other than thank you for the praise for the last chapter, I was so worried when writing it because I had never read anything bodywoshipy so I'm glad that people liked it uwu ))

Chapter Twenty-Six
Everything Inside Never Comes Out Right

Breaks in the term were one of Chanyeol’s favorite times because it meant that they could sleep in and he could spend the entire day glued to Baekhyun. Aside from the few days that Baekhyun had said he had to go to vocal practice, though they seemed to turn into him hanging out with Jongdae somewhere along the line. Chanyeol shrugged it off, flopping around in their shared bed with the occasional glance over at their bathroom door. Baekhyun had said he wanted to shower in peace and as much as Chanyeol wanted to climb in with the other, Baekhyun had locked the door for the first time. So Chanyeol was left in their pile of blankets, rolling around as he whined at how long Baekhyun was taking.

Maybe if I don’t look at the door, he’ll finish. Like when you look away from a pot of water on the stove and it starts boiling. He thought, turning so his back was to the door and flopping back. When only the lower half of his back came into contact with the mattress he let out a shocked yelp before he bit the inside of his cheek as his head came into contact with the unforgiving floor. He let out another whine, shutting his eyes tightly for a mount until he hear the bathroom door unlock and he watched and upside down Baekhyun step out as he ran a hand through his hair. Baekhyun glance at him and Chanyeol smiled, sliding the rest of the way off of the bed as Baekhyun opened one of his dresser drawers.

“Are we going on a date?” Chanyeol asked, sitting up.

“I have vocal practice.”

“Again?” Chanyeol whined as he stood. “Classes start again in three days.”

“Exactly, I need to get back into practicing if I want to keep my spot in the recitals. Practicing high notes takes a lot of work.”

“I could make you hit some high notes,” Chanyeol said, sliding a hand up Baekhyun’s back as Baekhyun slid on his shirt, the brunet squirming away.

“Stop, I’m not in the mood,” Baekhyun snapped, Chanyeol pulling his hand back as if he had been burned. Baekhyun didn’t spare him a glance as he pulled on a pair of jeans and grabbed his mobile from on top of the dresser. Closing the room door behind him, Chanyeol was left alone in the room -  cringing when he heard the front door slam. He frowned at the closed door, then looked down at his hand. Was Baekhyun mad at him for something? He couldn’t think of what he had done to intentionally mess with the older, he had been trying to be careful with the tense mood he had been in over break.  Chanyeol lowered his hand and looked back to the door, sitting back down on the ground, trying to decide if what he should do.

“Where’s your better half?” Jongdae asked, pushing himself off the wall he had been leaning against as Baekhyun made his way to the mall entrance, grinning at the younger.

“I am my own person you know, I’m capable of doing things on my own,” Baekhyun replied.

“Yeah, but he’s your soulmate.”

“Whatever,” Baekhyun grumbled. “By that logic you should still be glued to Junmyeon-Hyung.”

“And I am as often as I can be, but he’s helping Yixing-hyung get over that cold he’s had, and I’m not all that keen on the risk of catching it,” Jongdae explained, following Baekhyun through the automatic doors into the mall.

Baekhyun was relieved when Jongdae dropped the subject that was ‘what’s going on between you and Chanyeol’ until said giant was spotted walking on the other side of the mall walkway. Jongdae arched an eyebrow as Baekhyun latched not him, peaking around Jongdae to watch Chanyeol closely until he went into a store.

“Yeah, everything’s totally normal in the sweet life of Baekhyun and Chanyeol,” Jongdae said sarcastically, rolling his eyes as he received a deep frown from Baekhyun.

“I can’t breathe with him attached to me everywhere I go. I had to lock the bathroom door earlier just to shower alone,” He said through a clenched jaw, which Jongdae shook his head at and started walking again. Baekhyun was distracted by a new makeup kiosk when Jongdae saw Chanyeol come out of the store he had been in and the youngest latched onto Baekhyun before calling out to Chanyeol.

“What are you doing?” Baekhyun hissed as Chanyeol looked over at them with a curious look and made his way over to them in response to Jongdae waving at him.

“Baekhyun, I thought… You had vocal practice,” Chanyeol said slowly, eyes flickering to Jongdae before back to the captive Baekhyun who shrugged Jongdae off.

“No, I don’t. I lied, alright?” Baekhyun sneered, Chanyeol’s eyebrows knitting together and he opened his mouth, Baekhyun cutting him off. “You’re probably a and going to ask why aren’t you?” He asked, Chanyeol flinching. “Because you’re being so ungodly cling! I can hardly take a piss without you grabbing some part of me. I don’t understand why you can’t go five minutes without having some part of you touching some part of me, or how that hasn’t sunk into your head that it’s annoying as !” Baekhyun snarled, Chanyeol visibly shrinking as his eyes widened, Baekhyun ignoring the harsh yank Jongdae gave to his arm.

“Back off and give me a chance to breath for ’s sake!” Baekhyun added and Chanyeol was still as Jongdae stare at Baekhyun, looking to Chanyeol when the black haired male moved, holding out the bag in his hands to Baekhyun. The brunet took it and Chanyeol bowed his head, hurrying past the duo. Jongdae shot a glare at Baekhyun once the other was out of sight, shoving his shoulder.

“What the hell was that?” He demanded.

“Ease off.”

Me? Ease off? Says the one who tore his boyfriend a new one and embarrassed the hell out of him in public.”

“He’s too stupid to get embarrassed,” Baekhyun argued, Jongdae staring at him with an open mouth for a few moments before he crossed his arms over his chest.

“Okay, sensuously. What has been going on with you these last two weeks?”

“Like you would understand, you’ve acted like a leech to Junmyeon-hyung since the day you two met,” Baekhyun growled, turning and walking in the opposite direction of Chanyeol, making his way from the mall back to their dorm.

Chanyeol had been so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t notice a darker haired freshman freeze when he rounded the corner. Then again, it never really seemed as if he ever noticed the aversion Jongin had towards him. He looked up from the ground when he registered it was about to talk into someone, forcing the corner of his mouth up in a halfhearted attempt to smile at the other as he stepped to the side to walk past him. Jongin watched him walk by and Chanyeol got a few steps down the block before Jongin, despite the fortune that was Chanyeol not mauling him, hurried after the him and caught him by his arm.

“Hyung, what’s wrong?” Jongin asked, worry picking at his chest when the other gave a sad excuse for a shrug. Jongin tugged on his arm, frowning as the older wouldn’t look at him, going as far as to turn away when Jongin moved in front of his to try and meet his lowered gaze.

Jongin didn’t particularly enjoy Chanyeol all but laying on him, but how avoidant the other was being and how he pulled his arm from Jongin’s grasp had the younger truly worried. When Chanyeol tried to walk away again Jongin stood in his way, grabbing both of his upper arms, pulling his hands back when Chanyeol flinched and shut his eyes tightly. Jongin remained still for several moments before he was slowly reaching out to lightly touch Chanyeol’s arms again and when the other didn’t react Jongin rubbed his arms, trying to soothe him. The black haired male opened his eyes, Jongin’s words escaping him as tears pricked Chanyeol’s eyes.

“Baekhyun’s really, really mad at me, and I don’t know what to do,” He said, in a shaky voice before the tears spilled over to start tracks down his cheeks and he curled in on himself. Jongin stared at him for a moment before rubbing his arm again with one hand pulling his mobile out of his pocket with the there.

>I’m so sorry to do this last minute, but I have to cancel out date >n<

Once the message had been sent he slid his mobile back into his pocket and ran his hand down to take a gentle hold of Chanyeol’s wrist.

“Come with me, Hyung,” He prompted, Chanyeol giving a small nod as he hung his head and allowed himself to be pulled down the street. He didn’t look up until Jongin stopped, looking around.

“Your dorm?” Chanyeol asked, his voice already creaking a bit as Jongin unlocked and opened the door.

“Yeah,” He replied, still not having let go of Chanyeol’s wrist.

“Kyungsoo told you to never tell me which dorm was yours,” Chanyeol pointed out, Jongin wincing a little. Maybe Chanyeol wasn’t as blind to Jongin’s avoidance of him as the younger had thought.

“Well, I didn’t tell you. I brought you, there’s a different” Jongin said, tugging on Chanyeol’s wrist to get him to enter the storm so he could close the door behind them, feeling a little easier when Chanyeol looked like he tried to smile in response.

“Sorry,” Chanyeol said, lowering his head again and the easy feeling was gone just as quickly as it had been there.

“Why are you sorry? It’s okay,” Jongin said, pulling Chanyeol to the couch and nudging him to sit down, letting go of the other’s wrist long enough to get situated beside him. “You’re upset, and… you’re a friend, so I wanted to help make sure they you’re going to be okay,” Jongin stated, rubbing Chanyeol’s back as the older learned forward, tucking his arms between his legs and chest; Jongin was surprised, and made a little uneasy as just how easily the other seemed to be able to fold in on himself.

“He’s yelled at me before… b-but never like he did today,” Chanyeol said, voice shaking again and Jongin was sure he was pressing his face into his hands to hide fresh tears. “I thought he was going to tell me it was over… I was honestly terrified those words were going to come out of his mouth, so I walked away.” Jongin’s own heart stung at the whine that escaped the other and he didn’t dare try to imagine how Chanyeol was feeling. “W-we’ve never been separated like this after a fight… the most had been one of us in our room and the other sitting outside our dorm, what if this is the end?”

“Hey,” Jongin reached over, pulling Chanyeol and the other slumped across his lap; he felt Chanyeol’s phone start buzzing in his pocket but Chanyeol appeared to be oblivious or uncaring, so Jongin leaned forward to lay his chest over Chanyeol’s back and press his cheek against the other’s shoulder. “Maybe he just needs some time. Kyungsoo-hyung says he’s been in a bad mood lately, I’m sure you didn’t do anything wrong.”

“What if he hates me?”

“Hyung, I don’t think he’s capable of hating you. I don’t think anyone is.”

“Kyungsoo hates me,” Chanyeol mumbled, into the fabric of Jongin’s jeans.

“Hyung, he doesn’t hate you.”

“You hate me.” Jongin sat up, staring down at the back of the other’s head.

“Why would I-”

“You avoid me like I carry some kind of disease,” Chanyeol said, starting to pull away, but not exerting enough effort to counter Jongin’s tightening grip.

“I don’t hate you, I just…” He messed with the fabric of Chanyeol’s shirt, trying to choose his words carefully. “You’re just… a lot more energetic than I’m used to. Junmyeon-hyung doesn’t hate Jongdae-hyung, does he?”

“No,” Chanyeol sniffled.

“It’s like with them. Junmyeon-hyung has told me that he’s used to a more peaceful life, since Yixing-hyung is very relaxed, and Jongdae-hyung is pretty wild. I’m used to Kyungsoo-hyung, who’s quiet and calm, while you’re all over the place and grabby most of the time,” Jongin explained, feeling Chanyeol’s mobile go off again. Again it was ignored and Jongin started wondering if it was Baekhyun trying to call. “Did Baekhyun-hyung say what he was mad about?”

“He said he felt like he couldn’t breath… that I was being overly clingy,” Chanyeol said, sniffling again as Jongin let him sit up, trying to rub his eyes dry.

“So he’s probably just having a mood where he wants some space. Just… try to be aware of if he’s trying to pull away. Even I have some days where I don’t want Kyungsoo-hyung or Sehun to be super touchy with me,” Jongin watched Chanyeol’s face closely, relaxing when the other seemed to have calmed down to the point that he wasn’t going to start crying at any moment. “You seem like the type to try and get closer to Baekhyun-hyung if he tried to pull away, so maybe that made him feel crowded and he didn’t know how to express how he felt… and it boiled over because he wasn’t able to tell you how he felt.” Chanyeol nodded, looking at his hands before his mobile went off again and he sighed, pulling it out. His eyebrows knitted together when he saw Kyungsoo’s epicure and he answered.

“Kyungsoo?”

“What happened?” Kyungsoo asked, Chanyeol frowning a little.

“Huh?”

“What happened? Something happened, I can feel it. What made me feel like I got punched in the stomach?” Chanyeol bit his lower lip, swallowing hard before answering.

“Baekhyun and I had a fight.”

“That explains how prissy he was when he came home. Where are you?” Chanyeol’s eyes flickered over to Jongin’s.

“Your boyfriend’s couch,” He said softly, met with a long silence.

“I’ll be there in ten minutes,” Kyungsoo stated, the line going dead after.

Chapter 105: nooooooo I can't believe it's over!!!!!!!!!!! I await eagerly for the epilogue!!
this was such a great story idea and such a great story!!! I'm glad it ended happily although that car crash scared me, suchen will always be my otp but I have a soft spot for xiutao in this. I think my favourite chapter is actually when jongdae confronts baekhyun after he leaves cy. idk there's something so precious about baekhyun running away only to run into the big red sign that is jongdae saying "wrong way, go back". man I can't believe this story is over but I'm also happy that it ends well, i don't think i could take another round of drama (seriously??? baekhyun with taehyung as a son????? I'm crying ) idk everything about this is good I love it all <333333333333333 x 100

Chapter 102: Omg don't do that to me! What is it with the boys and cars? Probably didn't help that I just read a fic where these two got in a wreck and Yeol actually died. *sobs* I was so scared you were just gonna off one of them XD. Great chapter, as usual. And a tiny bit of angsty-fluff at the end to wrap it up, well done. :)
